If you take your time to go through the reply you got there on that post you would understand better.
There is no need writing the content of the post letter for letter. Just a summary of what you can make out if the post in your own idea and then putting the link would be better

Your question is already answered on that thread:

- Your initial post is plagiarism, since you copy/pasted an article without adding a reference.

- After being pointed out, you added the reference to the article. That technically lets you off the hook from there on.

- Nevertheless, as I mentioned in that same thread, unless it’s something pressing (i.e. virus alert or this evenings lottery winning numbers), simply performing a copy/paste and adding a source is pretty lazy, and may even be considered a low value post. Really, simply invest 10-15 minutes to summarize it, or to add a versed opinion (in favour, against, whatever). That could bring something to the table that is worth discussing.

In short, no, with the added reference it is not plagiarism technically, although I personally see no added value. Somebody could have reported you on your initial OP, since it lacked the source which was added later. If a mod would have processed the report before you added a link, then he would have nuked your account …

Edit: I assume you are not banned, since this OP on Meta is not a Ban Appeal.

Ehh, I'd just call it unethical to just post almost an entire article, even when you do include the source.
Add some original commentary at least, because if you just copy/paste it it's just such a low-effort post.

I would still call it as plagiarism. If you want to be safe just use
Code:
[quote]......[/quote]

to post the article you wanted to and then write whats you wanted to tell to this community at the later part of the post.

You can further improve this by adding the author-tag:
Code:
[quote author=URL]......[/quote]

So you just copied a whole wall of text verbatim then put a link down, it sure would have been better posting just the link alone for users to click on it and go read from the original source.

Even if it wouldn't be tagged plagiarism since you linked the original thread, it still passes as being lazy on the forum and a dearth of a pinch of effort.
You may not get banned, but you'll sure get ignored by a whole lot.

It depends on if your account is still active. If it is considered plagiarism by the mods you'd be banned from the forum.
You can look through the rules and punishments for infractions here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0). That would give you a better understanding of the workings of the forum

Usually the copy pasted articles (without reference) are reported and the copypaster is usually banned.
Plagiarism is not allowed in any form. If someone wants to post a complete article here on the forum (because of usefullness or anything) it's possible with proper link to the source and it's allowed in the Press section (if that still works).

LOL, the content has answered already its topic title and I agree with DdmrDdmr. Anyway, it is a good thing to ask here everything that is unclear or confusing you OP and you can move this to BEGINNERS AND HELP SECTION. All possible questions can be posted in that section and there are thousands of users being active there and will definitely will help you on the queries. Now, that OP had a lot of answers from the reply then you can lock this thread already. It is nice to visit this thread and do the post since it is answerable and easy to reply.
