Title: Ledger Live now with Native SegWit support Post by: Pmalek on June 21, 2019, 11:38:38 AM I somehow missed to see this earlier but since the v1.10.0 update of Ledger Live there is now also support for Native SegWit. It is still in a so-called Experimental stage.
Quote Native SegWit support is available in the Experimental settings! Known issue: you must clear the cache after sending funds. Please consider operation and balance information to be incorrect until the cache is cleared, a fix is underway. Source: https://github.com/LedgerHQ/ledger-live-desktop/releasesHas anyone tried using a Native SegWit address together with their Ledger device? Title: Re: Ledger Live now with Native SegWit support Post by: o_e_l_e_o on June 22, 2019, 07:22:54 PM Yeah, as much as I like my Ledger device, Ledger Live is awful if you only care about bitcoin.* They are so far behind the curve to only just be introducing a trial of native SegWit support, not to mention you can't see individual addresses or control your UTXOs at all. As ETF says, using Electrum with your Ledger remains the preferable and well established option.
*I appreciate it has advantages for some altcoin users being able to see all their coins in one place. Not even this.. You can only view the balances of the altcoins which are directly supported by ledger live (which can be sent / received via ledger live). The majority of coins (especially those who only have 'basic' support) are not viewable / accessible using ledger live. Only 23 out of 79 coins are natively supported and can be viewed by ledger live (excluding Monero, NEO, etc.. ). |
