Yeah it seems so I just checked my balance and it was 424btc and now I have none. There goes another one down! For fucking Christ sake. Why can’t anyone get security right? Seems like their dictionary files for twelve word seeds has been compromised through their hosting.

It's working here. I also downloaded Electrum from their website 2 days ago.

But the weird thing is that there are some people on the r/electrum subreddit saying it really has been down for 4 days.

Do you still have the Electrum files you downloaded? And can you check which exact URL you used to download it?

Are you sure that you can access the site electrum.org?

I can't access the site even with or without VPN I just noticed it recently.

Edit: Weird I can access the electrum.org with browser testing with browserling.com I can't access the site with https but it can access the http://electrum.org

It looks like only homepage is not working in my PC but I can access the site through tor browser and in browsling.

However, their subdomains are also working fine.

Maybe he failed or forgot to renew their SSL certificates on time? It seems that ThomasV (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3137) is really busing working with LN integration with Electrum and perhaps he may have missed this one?

https://electrum.org/ is working fine for me, just using Chrome and standard internet connection (no VPN etc)... granted I haven't tried to access it the last couple of days, so can't comment on any outage... but it looks like it is running fine.

whether the Electrum website is down or not has nothing to do with your "cold storage" and whether you actually lost any coins from it. if you did really lose anything it is because you leaked your secret information such as your seed words in some way to a hacker that stole your coins. try to think back and see how you leaked them.

So electrum site has been down for about four days.

I did access their site successfully every time I needed in the last 4 days.

I checked my electrum cold storage wallet and my 45 bitcoin is missing can anyone else confirm they have been hacked?

There were some malicious Electrum servers that were advertising an Electrum clone that steals the money. Older Electrum got tricked to show that malicious advertising/links, some users got tricked, installed that and lost their money.
It was not really a hack, however, it was bad.

I am however confused how you lost money from your cold storage. Cold storage is meant to stay offline, so the hackers should have no access to that. Maybe you care to tell the whole story of what you've done there?

Electrum site is working for me without any problems in last 4 days, and I even download latest version 2-3 days ago. Since some users claim that it was down for them, maybe this is related to problem that some part of the world had problems with accessing some web pages few days ago, and forum was down for me some 2+ hours.

Regarding OP problem, I really do not see the link between "electrum site is down" and "my bitcoin is missing from cold storage"? I guess second post is just OP alt account, he lost almost ten times more bitcoin because "seed words are compromised on Electrum hosting server".

It seems to me like someone who is a victim of phishing is trying to make bad PR for Electrum.

I guess second post is just OP alt account

Im using version 3.1.3, got in wallet to send transaction. Window popped up saying needed to update with links, looked fishy. Exited out went to homepage but it loads very slow and download link does not work to update version. Went back to wallet after reading, changed server from auto and manual selected many but none work. Now my wallet says offline and cant even see my balance.

Is the site totally down? Some cyber attack going on?

P.S, I tried the website with 2 different computers and a smart phone with same result.

Electrum clients older than 3.3.0 or something like that cannot connect anymore to the legit electrum servers.
This is related to the phishing attack against Electrum users that happened some weeks ago (and may be still ongoing, for old clients)
You have to get at least version 3.3.4; latest - 3.3.6 - even better.
Make sure you d/l from electrum website and verify the signature.

This message isn’t real!! It’s a vulnerability on old versions that let malicious servers show fake “update” messages and provide fake URLs. You won’t be able to connect on any server while in a version vulnerable to this.

The website isn’t working but the subdomain “download is”: https://download.electrum.org

Also make sure to verify your Electrum file after downloading it: https://bitcoinelectrum.com/how-to-verify-your-electrum-download/

I'm confused too.

OP, can you post your address?

Haha. I don't believe they're that busy with LN integration. LN is in beta, plus merchants are not in a hurry.

It would seem that as of 2019-06-28 2100hrs UTC... the Electrum website (https://electrum.org/#home) is fully operational again. If you need to download it... now is your chance.

Also, as mentioned previously, it seemed you could go straight to the download domain: https://download.electrum.org/3.3.6/ to get the latest 3.3.6 version.
