Title: Transaction stuck
Post by: kiragaz on June 27, 2019, 03:53:53 PM
Hello.

I bought from someone 0.241btc.He send me from blockchain.info wallet  to my MyCellium phone wallet(paired with Ledger Nano S).

Now its more then 32 hours i did't get any conformation. I pay cash for btc, and dont realy know seller(i bought from hem one time before, but hes total stranger for me).

Now i'm worrying he can somehow scam me make this transaction Replace-By-Fee,or cancel it another way.Am i worrying for nothing? Can he do this? And if he do when can i see that my transaction got cancelled or Replaced-By-Fee?

Also how much time THIS transaction be unconfirmed until it cancelled by itself/wiped from blockchain or returned to sender ?

Can someone help me  to accelerate this transaction please?

What I see is that it's only 18.08 sat/B tx fee. According to this (https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/) site, the current fees per byte is 164 satoshis for the next block. So, compering you fees, it's really low. However if you can wait for the next few days may be you will get surprised. Eventually, it will get confirmed.

By the way, you can try this guy: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5034315.0

You can check again in 24-36 hours, your transaction should get confirmed by then, maybe a bit earlier than that.

Nothing to be worried unless you need the funds in a certain period of time. Not long ago I was sending tx with 1 Sat/byte and they were confirmed in the next few days.

Edit: Even in this period I have a tx with 1 Sat/Byte 🤪

Unconfirmed transaction can be "canceled" by double-spending the same input with a higher fee. However, it doesn't work every time. Nothing has happened for 32 hours so I wouldn't worry about it.

Can you tell from the look on this transaction is he "sent ok ",i mean is the transaction itself looks legit ?

There is no way for anyone to know that until he tries to double-spend the transaction (which in that case, it means he's not legit). You'll just have to wait until it confirms to be 100% sure the coins are yours. Before that, all you can do is trust.

Btw, I'm not sure how easy is to double-spend a tx, but AFAIK nodes don't keep double-spend transactions in their mempool (I may be wrong tho).

That's not always the case. If this was true, merchants could accept 0-conf transactions. While Bitcoin Core respects first seen rule by default, BitcoinXT violates it.

Since you control one of the outputs, you may be able to do a Child Pays for Parent transaction. You simply spend the unconfirmed output in your wallet to yourself and include a higher fee that will cover both the old transactions and the new transaction. I'd estimate the fee should be set to at least 100k sats, to get your payment confirmed quickly.

your transaction has been confirmed about an hour ago
if it were not confirmed yet, you can expedite by doing CPFP transaction as bones261 described it

Also how much time THIS transaction be unconfirmed until it cancelled by itself/wiped from blockchain or returned to sender ?
if you worry about it being dropped by all nodes, you can save its raw tx and re-broadcast it later
but based on my experience, transactions made by/pushed to blockchain.com will be re-broadcasted until it gets confirmed
provided the sender doesn't do double spend attempt to invalidate the original transaction
