Post by: Findingnemo on June 27, 2019, 04:46:55 PM
Anyone seeing this window other than me?

https://talkimg.com/images/2023/09/02/muoHc.jpeg

And also just now I received the new tier verification but can't able to verify my address on tier1,Do you think this is because their site down?

Edit: Now the warning is removed so they looks like online now but my verification issue still persists and raised a support ticket regarding this as well.

As they stated they are facing technical issues. They will fix it soon and there are nothing to be worried about it. I am also seeing the same:

Yes, I can see the notification on the homepage though I haven't logged in... As Pam said, I'll echo the same.

I just hope everything comes to normal asap.

It seems LBC is back to normal, the red box notification is gone. @OP check from your end.

Back online - everything seems okay and working flawlessly.

BTW anyone completed address validation process? I am still having issues.
Do they require address validation? AFAIK they only require ID verification.

Yes they need it based on their new terms and policies and for me it needs to be completed before Sep to continue using it and I guess it differs from based on your country.

I think it's general.
Local bitcoins has been tightening its rules on verification perhaps due to pressure from different government.
It was very easy to launder month with tier 0 verification. All one had to do was create a dozen accounts and then trade.

Possibly money launders can use their new terms as well but the limit it upto 20,000euros but for people like me who create ads and doing day trading on it is indeed to follow their terms and even the limit for tier) will definitely not enough for me since I already exceeded the tier0 level.

If I am opening another account with someone's id then I can't be able to do day trade on it because on ads from the good trading volume and more than 100 trades will show up on the first page.

Update:

Address and Identity verification also working now, seems like they updated their supported identities which may need some more identity to get verified.

They may faced any bugs in their website or wallet. Usually please once in 3 months we can see server maintenance for some other technical glitches on their website.
after seeing your post just before I check my login I didn't find any notice from the localbitcoins.com after I done a login.

Wait, so now everyone on LBC has to undergo KYC verification before they can trade?

What's even the point in P2P anymore with these rules and regulations. Damn.
Too bad all the decentralized alternatives are so bad, and paxful is also catching up on these AML laws..  :-\

I feel ya. Seeing legitimate businesses comply with the regulations is something we have to accept because it's not going to change for the better at all, only for the worse unfortunately.

The times where you could use exchange platforms semi anonymous are over. BTC-E was my favorite exchange for that reason. It was a safe haven for non KYC/AML users until the authorities took them down. Bastards.

The 'good' thing however is that we'll see less shitty exchanges with how they won't be able to offer actual fiat trading. In order to enter this market it has to happen through a compliant exchange.

Not everyone to be honest, the tier ) allows them upto trade 20,000 euros anually and if they are going to trade beyond then they need identity to be verified with address.

Just same as binance KYC system.

I don't understand why we should do double kyc, I have done kyc there more than a year ago once.

and now they put a limit and demanding kyc again. This is really a pain - if they ask any id scan and selfie, I promise my selife will be the ugliest one to show my anger on them.  >:(

It's probably a move behind the scenes to verify if your personal information is still accurate.

Did you do anything to trigger their overly sensitive security system? I have seen a lot people complain in the last 12 months that their account has been limited, which turned out to be the result of a change in trading behavior. I'm not sure why they are so paranoid about a change in trading behavior, but apparently it's something they don't take too lightly. :-X

Maybe you are right - this could be a reason.

I can surely say that I haven't done anything against their rules or anything inappropriate in regards to trading/exchange from the beginning to till now.
Moreover, I stopped trading there more or less a year ago. But I do exchanges sometimes for my local currency which is very small in amount.

No flags against me yet from any seller... I'm a gentleman!  8) ;D

It really does not matter. I don't think they even review every KYC application and the pictures that come along with it manually. I think the double KYC that you are mentioning is part of some new regulation that LBC is facing due to increased checks on everything related to cryptocurrency after the trend that facebook started off. All the regulators and crypto websites are being extra cautious. If you do not like KYC I suggest you leave LBC. If anything their reviews might get even more stringent since they have to operate in multiple countries.

I can access a few pages like the Fees and FAQ pages, but I'm mostly seeing the same thing. You can't see listings without logging in. I wonder if they are trying to deter people from trading P2P using their listings while avoiding KYC. That's what I always did on Localbitcoins: Check listings, contact traders directly, trade P2P without their escrow system.

Hopefully this isn't going to be the permanent state of affairs.

I am not facing any issues while loading pages even without logging in.

As far as I know the address we were verified will get expired after one year and we need to verify again for using it.

I don't think so because from my end i have been using the local bitcoins from many days without any interruption. Recently they have restricted some countries and this makes we are facing some issues with the website. We need not worry everything will become a normal situation.
