Title: Every time I sell Bitcoin pumps... Has BTC been good or bad for You???
Post by: Devawnm367 on July 01, 2019, 06:56:54 AM
So for the last 18 months I have held, gambled, bought and exchanged some BTC mostly through this forum. (I HATE PAXFUL AND FEES). Anyways I have won lost, and just at points had to sell my coins for emergency funds and etc.

Well just a couple weeks ago I had around .02 BTC (thats alot for me) well my washer and dryer has been having issues. My dryer proceeded to go and break on me and I had to sell my .02 to buy a used dryer, I spent $30 in gas and $75 on the dryer and when I got home the used dryer I bought is broken and the guy who sold it hasnt aswered my phone call in a month...

Well anyways I sold my .02 for around $140 at the time roughly 1 month ago give or take. And since then it has went up over $100 in value... smh

Am i just unlucky or does the bitcoin market follow my transaction history and only pump when I am out????

I really just wish I never sold I would still have a broke dryer and .02...The price has went up so high that I now cannot afford to invest. My mother was just diagnosed with stage 4 COPD and Emphazema and was just put on Hospice home health. So I am currently unemployed taking care of her. Its a struggle everyday.. I seriously am starting to wonder if btc is just bad luck for me. I once owned 3 BTC when an (unnamed website was shut down) I lost it all and since that day. Have never made it back.. I am now a proud owner of around 850 satoshis... ( so any ideas on how I can earn a little simple btc would be appreciated)...

But to finish my post. Does BTC price rise or fall when you sell. And since you have been dabbling in Crypto have you become more /less successful. I want to hear your stories. I think all BTC has ever done for me is gotten my funds stolen multiple times lol. But man do I love it.

(I know not to leave my funds on exchange but I am broke I cannot afford spending 6 to $10 just to be able to withdraw my BTC every other day, usually when I am trading it's usually only 50 to $100 as its all I can afford. I lose money withdrawing and depositing every other day between withdraw fees and BTC fees It eats up $100 quick)....

Give me your thoughts!

I also experience that and I think its normal, i sold my BTC before (last 2017 bull run), on the price of $16000 and after that the price continues to rise above $19k and yeah i miss more dollars because of that. The worst scenario when I bought bitcoin at $10k level and it drops up to $3k. Haha. Its not a mistake but an over confident about the price of bitcoin, at least we learned a lot from that, but of course it will happen again and we know what to do now.

Whenever you are selling, you are still acquiring some form of profit at the end of the day. No one can accurately predict the value of BTC at any point of time. If you feel sad about selling your BTC quickly, imagine what this guy felt after selling his stash.

https://qz.com/1285209/bitcoin-pizza-day-2018-eight-years-ago-someone-bought-two-pizzas-with-bitcoins-now-worth-82-million/

Shit happens. You just need to be happy with your profits and move forward.

Selling and buying bitcoins does not do much effect to the price if you are not considered as a whale or a hoarder. A friendly advice from me is that you should find a stable job so that you can support your daily financial needs. Bitcoin is always a gamble which is why many people consider it risky thus, providing more support that bitcoin should not be the main source of your income. Nonetheless, I would also like to share my experience when I was stuck in a situation in which I had to sell 0.05 bitcoin when the market was bearish.

Bitcoin was pretty much price stagnant for a good amount of time already, I'd say a bit too long. A price increase/drop was just right around the corner and it just so happens that it increased.

I really just wish I never sold I would still have a broke dryer and .02...The price has went up so high that I now cannot afford to invest.
? ? ?
You can still buy $5 worth of bitcoin right now. Never understood the "price is too high for me to afford to invest" reasoning. If you think Bitcoin is going to stop at $11,000 then you crazy.

But to finish my post. Does BTC price rise or fall when you sell.
If you're looking at the short term, it's pretty much a gamble. A coinflip. So as expected, you're going to get mixed answers. But as always, the long-term holders are the ones who wins.

This experience isn't only for you but other people as well including. Whenever I sell, I'm not thinking if it will go up or down as long as I've sold then that's decided and no regrets will happen as long as I keep my fund for long term holding safely.

I take profit so that's enough for me to consider not thinking about the price anymore with those bitcoins that I've sold. Regret will just make you think a lot of things and doubt yourself. I'm praying for the fast recovery of your mother so that you can start working and have some again.

Everything happens for a reason, you just have to accept it. Recently my wife was hospitalized I sold my .0438 BTC fro 250 dollars on an exchange, then after a month 200 dollars should have been 600 or more, and I nearly cried but that's life. Some important things are meant to be done in order for us to survive in the real world or our loved ones. So it is a matter of the situation you are currently in, if you got problems then you should solved it immediately if you are able to, and that is what you did.

People don't have enough patience, especially not those with less experience. I've been with Bitcoin six years now and that thought me a lot. I also made mistakes but important is that I also learned from them a lot.
The most important thing is that you have your own strategy and goal you want to achieve and stick to that. Experienc will come along the way but this is not the first or the last time you feel that you should have done exactly the opposite.

I have experienced this several time and I don't know why it happens that way. I think it is a coincidence because the value I do sell sometime are insignificant to create any changes in bitcoin pricing.  we should hold more than selling as this is what stregthen Bitcoin and its market. A time is come were we would be mostly use bitcoin to purchase goods and pay for services and by then we would only concern ourselves with it purchase power and not the returned we get buy holding it. I believe in this future and that is why I will keep holding the major part of my Bitcoin for long terms .

For some people even so small amounts mean a lot in life, for others 0.02 BTC is not big money at current price. It makes no sense to feel bad if you sell some coins because you needed the money, bitcoin is changing value all time.

Devawnm367, you sold at $7000 and you should be happy for that, what if your washer and dryer is broken a few months earlier? The amount you sell would be almost half then you get it recently, so consider yourself happy in some way.

Really bad luck is that you lost 3 BTC before, this is really nice amount of money today, but you're not the only one to whom this happened.

Well I can't really say that it has been bad for me because I have earned a lot from it and it has been my  source of income for so long.
So for me even though the marker had faced so many problem the crypto gave me a way to earn more and spend more time freely so it has been good to me.

That bad situation can actually make you as your advantage, traders are working hard to timing the market and they don't let any emotion to decide for them. Its ok if you sell right now but after that the price pumps to the peak, because you can always buy at any level and set your new selling price level. I also have experiences like this, and its more than worth it because as long as you have profit, you can still go further.

When I started to buy BTC and sell, all my trades were bad
I bought in the pumps and sold at the dips  :D

But it's a lesson and now I have more experience to avoid mistakes, and even now I'm wrong a lot of times

In your case you really needed the money, so what's the problem?

You are just unlucky man. I also needed to convert some of my stash to FIAT because I need to pay someone, so I did last Sunday (my local time), luckily it was at the highest that time around $13200 if I'm not mistaken.

So I took care of business, clean my room and then I forgot that I needed to liquidate again because of some dues. Unfortunately, when I come back the dump had started (up to now), so I just what the f**k. So I didn't sell though, just have to find other ways to settle and work my due payments out.

If Bitcoin was good for someone they surely tend to have a good life with sure financial freedom at hand and that is because they are pretty used to this kind of market and environment, And if Bitcoin is Bad for them that is the time someone has a pretty negative experience towards it, And maybe fraud by some people that have to introduce it as an investment scheme, I guess that is mostly what is happening in this kind of market,

And for me, Bitcoin is pretty neutral in my case, I am not in the borderline of being Rich and not in the Borderline of getting nothing with it, Pretty much I only have financial freedom towards it and I am OK with it, And if given a chance in getting big in this bull run then why not.

I feel you, I just had that experience recently when I think the price will go down so I sell some of my coins but then few days after it went up and it continues to go up, I really regretted it. Bitcoin price is very unpredictable that is why we can't really determine when it will rise or go down, I think it might have something to do with luck as well.

I think it's more of a fate thing rather than bitcoin's thing to screw us over, or at least you in this case. There really are cases in which regrets will get the better of us since we will be constantly thinking that we have sold too early or too late. Do remember that nothing is ever constant in any market around the world, and the world does not revolve around you, so the notion that the market just screws us over and over is just wrong. Perhaps we can say that, but then again, regret and self-loathing would lead to nothing but just a bad feeling. That's why one should never let emotions get the better of them when trading, because it just often leads to bad calls and loss of money, so yeah, don't feel bad. Some of the 2010 guys who sold @ $1/coin are perhaps bummed about it right now and had it worse.

What make things like this? It is because we have some doubts and troublesome in the future, we can't predict the market actually and that is why we've been caught sometimes in the wrong timing. But I won't felt regrettable cause we are also earning some gains not unless if we got nothing or even lose our funds.

If I had holded every bitcoin I ever bought and got, I would have been a millionaire now.

current price:

1 BTC = $10 485,39 USD (-6,41%)

price of 7 days ago:

1 BTC = $13700

you will also say that who sold when the price was $10,000 and days later the price increased to $13,500 also no luck? It's not how the market works. It is impossible to know with accuracy when the price is high and when the price is low.

For now the price is $10400, you may think that the current price is low and days later the price falls to $ 6000 or you may think that the price is too high and days later the price rise to  $15000.

What you should do is set a goal and have a plan

about your personal life situation, I'm very sorry, you need to be very strong psychologically so that you can move on with your life

In a number of ways, I can relate to your story. One thing I know about bitcoin is that it should be for a long term investment. It might work out well with short term investment but you do need to have technical skills to enable you analyse the market well

I think when you feel you are getting a profit, then just sell your bitcoin. And wait for the next moment to buy bitcoin at a low price. It is difficult to predict the price of bitcoin, but if you persevere, you will find a way. And keep fighting for your life, don't depend on others.

Dont sell your bitcoin. I bought stuff with my bitcoin just before it went up and I did it a few times :( I didn't lose anything I just missed out. You should be using it as a currency though and not an investment.
Rather save your money for a new dryer or well looked after second hand one from a sencond hand store. Rather save and nut quality stuff otherwise you end up paying twice or more. For example if something is $33 and a qulity version is $100 but it lasts 5x longer you can say the $33 is very expensive in compared. $100 = $33 x 5 $165 In this example you paying $165 for a cheap version of the $100 version. There is a saying "the cheap man pays twice"

In my country 0.02 BTC at the current price can feed a family of 4 in a whole month.  It may look like a small amount to you but for an unemployed like OP, it is worth a fortune for him.

Devawnm367, you sold at $7000 and you should be happy for that, what if your washer and dryer is broken a few months earlier? The amount you sell would be almost half then you get it recently, so consider yourself happy in some way.

Agreed.  But OP seems regretful of his early sell   , it is a typical human nature, regretting stuff that we sell when we saw later that it increase in price, making it worst that he is in need badly for his parent's medication.

We do not know what happen in the future, there are several times when I sell my holdings at a lost due to some immediate needs, then price increase after a week.  But then, I tried not to be regretful of it because if I did not sell those coins, I could be in a lot more trouble.

Its not your fault its just the nature and price behavior of bitcoin of course the price is unpredictable most  btc hodlers uses it as a store of value and a long term investment rather than to using it as a currency thus you are just unlucky by selling it for fiat this you can't escape as a bitcoin hodler had it been you exercise a little patience invariably you could have earned much, presently the bitcoin is dumping while some hodlers will regret not selling at $12K+.

Near the beginning if the year when bitcoin was down I made a few purchases and planned to use them with that space of time and now. I am still yet to use them. I justified the purchase since I needed what i bought so i could use it in the mean while but i never got around to it. Then during this last rally i made my next set of purchases just before it. Luckily i forgot to order a few things so had to order then when the price was up. xD

To be successful with cryptocurrency there is need for a bigger and better growth with the assets we've in our portfolio. We cannot expect this to happen with each and every user, some get lucky to experience the best growth and they make use of it at the right time. I too had the bad luck of selling bitcoin by $6100, further on it went close to $14000 in a short time period. It is all about luck from my view as I was in need to cash out what I had in the wallet.

I think it is normal to face that kind of experience. Sometimes, we need to learn more about the market chart. I also experienced more when selling the BTC and then the price pumps so high. But when holding it, the price is dumping highly. I think that everybody has ever experienced on it BUt of course, they have a certain ability to make better analysis and not facing that condition again.

Am i just unlucky or does the bitcoin market follow my transaction history and only pump when I am out????

In my opinion, this is a normal situation. You urgently needed money, so you sold your 0.02 BTC at the market price and bought a dryer.

I guess that you were much more upset when your 3 BTC (!) which you kept on an unnamed website have lost at one day. It seems you were really unlucky.

People who trade crypto currencies on exchanges often fear of missing out like you. You did not have to sell your BTC at this time, because the Bitcoin mining reward halving comes and the current trend is positive.

I have had the same sad and disappointing experiences not just with Bitcoin but also with a lot of altcoins. But I eventually realized that it is only one way of saying that crypto is really unpredictable to a certain extent. Even a lot of my calls based on reliable TAs went wrong. It brings me to a realization that if you are uncertain you better HODL.

I think this happens to everyone because the price is unpredictable. I do not have regrets though because whenever I sell, I make sure the I am satisfied with my profit. Even if the price push higher, I am fine. I already bagged my profit. Or If I have to sell because of emergencies, I just shrug it off. It is a need and there is no controlling it. There will be other opportunities to invest or earn more.

The Law of Attraction is the attractive, magnetic power of the Universe that draws similar energies together.  -- https://www.successconsciousness.com/law-of-attraction-definitions.htm
You are focusing too much on the negative things happening to you that you are attracting more negative energies. What you should do instead is focus on the bright side. You had 0.02 before, you can earn more. You sold it at about $7000 yet a few months ago the price was below $4000. That is still profits to me. You may not believe in this but it's worth a try. Just a change of perspective.

I think all BTC has ever done for me is gotten my funds stolen multiple times lol. But man do I love it.
If your funds are stolen multiple times, you should really reconsider how you are keeping your bitcoins. Keeping your bitcoin safe is the utmost priority because it will all be for nothing if you can't keep them safe.

this is what happens when you are only "gambling" with bitcoin price! you end up thinking price rises are "pumps" and any drop is a "dump" and your total profit in the end is always going to be negative even if you haven't yet faced the consequences because like any other gambler you will eventually run out of luck and start your losing streak.

but if you start analyzing bitcoin and stop with the silly thinking of "pumps" and "dumps" and start seeing the bigger picture here about how this is a rally which has rises and corrections that follow those, then you can have a better time in this market and even if you decided to trade, you will be able to earn a lot more profit.

In your case you really needed the money, so what's the problem?

Yeah I did really just need the money and I did profit off of it. I guess I am just unlucky. The hand I was dealt in life. Just wasn't that great. I can buy just 5$ worth and I understand that. It's just hard for me to find somewhere that sells just $5 worth. Like I said with my mother bedridden I am currently not working. I mean I do side jobs here and there but when you make 2 to $300 a month (If you are lucky) It's hard to spend $240 on coins I had just bought  weeks before for half the price. If I was not unemployed taking care of my mom and 9 year old daughter. And I had $100,000 to invest I would be so rich right now... I am just unlucky it's not bitcoin. But everyday somewhere millions of dollars are getting hacked. The government is confiscating them, and some governments won't even allow Bitcoin. We need to find a way to fix these issues (Mainly the hackers) People don't want to invest when everyday in the news. (X) exchange was hacked for $150,000,000 in (Y) crypto currencies

As far as thefts. I only lost like $70 in Electroneum when cryptopia got hacked. The 3 BTC was confiscated by the federal governement from an unnamed websites we all know. I understand the "Not your keys, Not your crypto" At the time I was young and stupid doing things I shouldn't have been It was a lesson learned though...

I also knew the price of BTC was going to go up and going up quick. I think my biggest issue is just not being able to work and taking care of my  mom. It in itself is just a lot of stress. I just promised her when she got sick I would not put her in a home. Now I am suffering for it. Because when I got to be she sneaks outside still smokes and still does all the things that made her sick. Everyday she gets worse and worse and it just becomes more and more work.

Maybe in the future I can find an altcoin and get in early. Maybe then I may very well just find a way out. I just want to make enough to be able to go on a vacation, Take my boat out on the lake. Put my daughter through college. I just want that in life. Everytime something good happens and equal and opposite reactions comes around and screws everything up.... lol.. I have never even been in an airplane. I am 27 years old my grandfather flew them for 22 years in the United states Airforce. I do not even know what it is like...

Oh and I want to go on a cruise never done that as well as visit another country... maybe when I am done taking care of my mom I will get more opportunities!!!!

Bitcoin has been good for me. But I seem to have not utilized the profit I got from holding bitcoin. Almost every alt I bought using bitcoin had made a loss for me.
If I had holded every bitcoin I ever bought and got, I would have been a millionaire now.

Yeah the same for me I have gotten to where I won't invest in altcoins. I kind of like Tron (TRX) as far as a longterm investment but when it comes to alts. I strictly just mine. Thats my safest bet and I am not so pissed when it crashes to 0 it was my computer doing the work atleast it wasn't me lol

I guess what I am getting at is I hope oneday I can find a coin invest 200 to $300 and get rich like BTC did for alot of people all I can do is just keep on trying...

Well, there has been several instances where I had to sell some coins to pay for emergency situations and I hated every bit of it. Just recently I sold some coins at just above $3000+ and the price went up to $12 000+ .....that hurts!

In any way, we have no clue if the price is going to go to the Moon or if it is going to go to zero. Every $$$$ you get out of this before it goes to ZERO is a bonus and if you manage to make 1000s of $$$$ when it goes to the Moon, then it is a massive bonus.  ;)

Just start at the bottom again and buy small amounts of Satoshi at a time and try to hoard a little bit longer to sell at a higher price.  :P

I'm sure it's just coincidence though.

Barely a 28% dip on the way up and it's panic across the board. Lol

In 2017, we had five major dips, the smallest being the last one which was about 30%.

Bearish retracements in 2017
37%
35%
41%
40%
30%

I wonted to use saving money for investing in bitcoin or altcoins. I never spend a full money on my pocket to investing, so if I need money in a sudden situation I'll have it on my pocket and I can use it freely. Moreover if I choose bitcoin for my investment place, maybe I'll regret as you feel know because I'll withdraw it if I need something.

This is a learning to you, bitcoin price can't be predicted easily. You'll sock with the movement price and you'll regret it if you sold your bitcoin and after that its price moving up. Just a suggestion, you try to learn about trading bitcoin, if you have understood for its movement price or at least you'll know it through candle pattern maybe it will help you to avoid situation as you feel know.

@Devawnm367 this is a sad story and it’s purely bad luck in your case, but don’t worry this happens with me too whenever I sell my bitcoins. It’s sad to read that you lost your coins due to an exchange shutting down, now for future transactions I would advise you to use Electrum wallet. If you want you can offer services here and accept money in the form of bitcoins, or join a signature campaign and earn money from it, faucets won’t pay you much so you can avoid them.

Today, BTC supporters don’t care bout the philosophy behind Satoshi’s white paper and what made Bitcoin great in the first place. Blind supporters of Blockstream and their one way narrative. Propaganda indeed. Bitcoin is turning into a failed project. The seeds of its destruction among the debris of a community blinded by numerical price increases, and imminent divine reclamation. One day you will all understand my words but it will be too late, the ship would have sailed. I have chosen for myself more successful projects as XRM, BCH, CS and a few other tokens

Yeah I knew the price of BTC was about to go up. It had nothing to do with when I sold I have just really been struggling with my mom being sick and not being able to work then I am trying to give my 9 year old the best life I can. If anything I made money it is just the everyday struggle just one time in my life I want to be very successful if only for anfew months. If I just had money laying around I would be rich right now. Like Donald trump if someone gave me a million dollars to start with I would pay them there money +%5 the rest of my life I just don't have a mommy and daddy to get everything I want. At 16 I bought my own car payed $350  it was a pile of scrap with 4 wheels but it got me point A to point B lmao

Then I had my daughter at 17 WAY TO EARLY Maybe I can try and go back and finish college when she gets a little older. I just want her to have the life I never did you know?

There is a little gambling behind every success. You can't win every time, nobody doesn't know BTC price goes up or down in some day. In 2017 when BTC went highest in BTC history. Many people sold their BTC and realized profits but slowly prices started to go down. if you are sad to sell your BTC, you are not alone. Some people share same loss with you too. Life is not long, let bygones be bygones. There will be new opportunites in this market.
Right. There is no definite time when will bitcoin goes up or down so all our investments here are just like gambling. But if we are just patient enought not to sell our coins when we see the price is dumping,we have still more chances to make good profits from it if we can wait for the right time to sell when the price is already in peak or when bull run is here already.

The market's volatility is a challenge for us. That is why we need to use some technical analysis for us to be prepared and to know when is the right time to buy and to sell our bitcoins. It is okay that everytime we sell our btc, it pumps as long as we achieved our target profits. We don't have to regret it id we still profited when we sold.

I have to be honest, I sold a portion of my BTC holdings when it has gone down less than $5,000. That was too painful to imagine how a $20,000 Bitcoin went down really really low at around $3,000. And the worse thing is that it stayed within that price range for a long time. I was  too frustrated that I was thinking Bitcoin would really stay there for so long that it is pointless to wait more. But now, I have realized that patience is really golden in crypto.

I think it's part and parcel of putting our money in crypto specially Bitcoin. Don't you worry, I have experienced it so many times in the past, but what can I do? I needed some fiat because of emergencies so I don't regret selling some of my holding that time.

I'll just try to re-buy everything and save some fiat in my wallet just for a week. So I have a budget plan that I used and try to stretch it as much as possible so that I won't touch my Bitcoin holdings.

Bitcoin drops 80 to 85%  every time it reaches a new ATH. I have personally watched it happen since around 2012. The next time it hits a new high I am guessing around $37,472.63 (Thats where I will sell if I accumulate more coins lol) but remember when the next high is hit you only need to hang in for anlittle bit, Then wait for the "bitcoin bubble" to pop and buy back in at around the 75% crash point! I may not be able to make it but trust me when I say sell, do not buy back it until I say I will make you rich I know the market I just do not have money in even a savings account let alone BTC...

It's been very good for me.    The key has been cold storage of coins that I never touch.   It's no different than keeping fiat cash reserves in the bank or holding on to blue chip stocks that you don't touch.    I only sell coins acquired through profit from selling coins in the previous cycle.

from your statement, I can conclude that you are the type of person who is impatient and doubtful, so as not to experience losses in trading or investing in Bitcoin then it is strongly recommended to exercise patience. I have started to train my patience to not directly sell when the price drops slightly or immediately buy when the price rises a little and have started to make a little profit, patiently seeing the moment is the key to success in Bitcoin. I love Bitcoin ;D

The previous halving makes the price of Bitcoin rise nothing wrong for holding a few coins for the next halving. Instead of selling now but not knowing what will happen with the price of Bitcoin later, it is better to hold back your wish to buy something.

I use Bitcoin for daily trading. In the year 2017, I was able to make a profit, but for the year 2018 many experienced a disadvantage. I also don't think that Bitcoin will go back up as it does right now. So I now do a short-term trade. Buy Bitcoin Katika price decreases and sell it when the price rises. This I did and proved to me can make a profit again.

The main thing is not to lose a lot of money and not to lose faith in Bitcoin. Well, when it turns out to sell at a good price and stay with a cold mind. But sometimes, when you lose money, you can think for a second if it is worth the risk. And I think that definitely yes :) Despite the fact that I hurried and lost money a little over a year ago, I continue to believe and buy bitcoins ;)

We can do that since we can just wait for the price to pump.

Bitcoin is a great investment for me since I am usually in front of my PC. I can check sudden changes from BTC to other cryptocurrencies I have my money on. The price is rolling back to its usual price slowly though I am happy that I sold some in the past week when I earned double. Let's just wait again for another pump, it will go up, we just need to be patient.

Bitcoin is a great investment and it gives us the opportunity to make some extra money from either investing in it or getting it from gambling or just doing some freelancing, and when it comes to selling you will always feels bad, it might not be at first but when you see a significant price rise, and you are filled with regret for not just holding it, and that is why in my opinion you have to make a backup balance, where you split your balance into 75% saving and 25% spend it, but when it comes to you you had to do what you had to do because of life requirements and i would have done the same thing.

I don`t know but I think that the fate jokes me. Many people are taking profits in bitcoin pumped recently, but I did not. I sold my bitcoin during the 8k dollars price. I was afraid that it might only be a bull run. At first, I am happy because it goes back after it broke a resistance level around 8k. But I was shocked when I saw that it moved up to 13800 dollars. It is a bad for me yet, good for others.

On the wallet I'm using in transacting for cashouts, the wallet is not that user-friendly on my experience. Everytime bitcoin pumps, the transaction fee is increasing. Is that fair to all of us? I guess not, what if bitcoin will be $1m and on one sat, it could be $20 on every transaction?

Best thing to do before sell or buy, just know the market.Do fundamental analyze and technical analyze.Fundamental means reading news about bitcoin.Search any thing you feel that effect to bitcoin. There are lot of economic websites for that.Google it.Technical analyze means simply know the support and resistance areas of bitcoin prize. You can easily use MT4 for this(forex).Open a demo account and learn about trading. Then you will never make that mistake again.
1st YOU LEARN THEN REMOVE THE "L"

-_- As I read this I am waiting for the part you were you going to tell us what you could have got. I ordered some art and craft supplies. You know some really nice stuff. Then the exact same thing happens to me. I bought this stuff at the beginning of the year (first quarter) only to find out a little while ago it was 4x more so I could have bought like a whole art studio -_-

I hate hindsight. It is hard not to beat ourselves up. We need to remember it is as it is and you and I most likely have made a lot more hen we have lost and that is what I like to remember.

You are not alone on this and your is not a unique story I have experienced that so many times in the past and in my mind it always cross that I might do it again, I'm not into selling my top coins in the market, but there are conditions where you have to do what you have to do, Bitcoin is going up and down and it's not always late for us to recover our losses.

from your statement, I can conclude that you are the type of person who is impatient and doubtful, so as not to experience losses in trading or investing in Bitcoin then it is strongly recommended to exercise patience. I have started to train my patience to not directly sell when the price drops slightly or immediately buy when the price rises a little and have started to make a little profit, patiently seeing the moment is the key to success in Bitcoin. I love Bitcoin ;D
The shorter the person has patience, the lesser we gain profits. In cryptocurrency, we need to have patience. Specially when we hold bitcoin, it is for a lone period of time. If we have burnt with our hodlings, probably we will sell it in a low value. Many people are unfortunate in cryptocurrency because of shorter patience. We sell coins because of frustrations, however if we see it pumps again, we tend to buy at highs. In result, we buy high and sell low.

Whenever Bitcoin has never been bad to me, instead its been 5 years now were Bitcoin helped me a lot to survive in life, I begun with trading then when 2018 came up to me I entered bitcointalk forum to join in bounties, where until now this is what I'm doing. So even Bitcoin pump, I still had no doubt for it to help me all the time. Especially now, I still have a few of bitcoins in my wallet and willing to take hold em in the long term.

So for the last 18 months I have held, gambled, bought and exchanged some BTC mostly through this forum. (I HATE PAXFUL AND FEES). Anyways I have won lost, and just at points had to sell my coins for emergency funds and etc.

Well anyways I sold my .02 for around $140 at the time roughly 1 month ago give or take. And since then it has went up over $100 in value... smh

Am i just unlucky or does the bitcoin market follow my transaction history and only pump when I am out????

..The price has went up so high that I now cannot afford to invest.

Give me your thoughts!

We have all the reason to sell our holding and you have a good reason too , because health is more precious than wealth like BTC , so no regrets about that , and in my case I have also a good reason to sell my coins since those are profitable already .

This made me smile :) I feel you bro, i think we’ve all been there. It’s actually very annoying situation. To stay away from being annoyed, as a solution i decided not to think about the new direction of the market after i sell my coins. Because we never know the next step of the market and it’s not your fault to sell your .02 BTC in order to afford your emergency needs.

 :D I think I was the only one .
Just some days before my friend sold like 1000$ in BTC and suddenly the price sky rocketed but came down after few hours.

Well the fact that we decided to sell because we saw that we are having a profit already and we thought that it won't go that up means , we should just ignore the future price or just go and buy fast and hold .

There are some high strokes in Bitcoins which actually comes so suddenly that no one is able to predict , and after that we suddenly have that down hill , due to huge selling off.

Don't worry it's very common , well it's more like a bet thus we cannot expect it to always favour us.

It also happens to me in the past. But I don't regret it because those time I need money desperately and I can use some of my bitcoin investments. If you gain profit then it's not bad even if it pumps after you sell, you can just buy again after correction happens.

That shit happens with everyone including me. Seems like market is playing with us, or we just sold it at the wrong time. I mean, we can't predict to be exact when that occurs.

It was with Monaco, that shit went up for like 100% and I missed it. It just makes me depressed and I couldn't forgive myself, but at least I got something from there(not much but still good than nothing).

Sorry for your bad conditions and your mother as well. Hope she will fine soon. However, since btc is a crypto-currency that's why its nature is volatility. So no one could assure what is the top prices and when we should sold it. I have bad experiences like you about bitcoin. But I have not lost my patience. Since we don't know when bitcoin would pump so we could sold our btc when is very necessary. Forget about pump dump, try to hold for few days if you can. Perhaps you might sell on good price.

I couldn't hold back my laughter after reading the post. OP, if you know what happened to me, then you won't even think that you sold your coins at loss. You are so heartbroken after selling BTC0.02. How much you could have gained if you had held on to those coins? $100 is my max estimate. Now I will tell you my story and you can compare.

I got my first coins in 2012 (purchased some for $10 per coin, and got more through Rugatu, Bittrivia.etc). By mid-2013, I had more than 70 BTC in my wallet. Then catastrophe struck. I lost about BTC30 when Litecoinglobal closed down. Bad times didn't end there. A few months later (Q2, 2014) I lost my full time job and I became unemployed. I held on to sometime, but by early 2015 I had to sell most of my remaining coins. I managed to get a job by 2015, but I was in deep financial crisis. During 2015, I sold around 30 BTC, when the price was just $200 per coin.

Now my total coin holding is a small fraction of what I had in 2013. It is very difficult not to imagine what I could have done, if I still had all those coins. But life goes on, and I am trying to forget everything and move ahead.

So my advice to the OP is not to feel dejected. You are not the unluckiest person out there.

There are times that I sold my bitcoin then it suddenly pumps.  We just have to accept the fact that btc is so tricky and playful since it does have volatile characteristics. Even my technical analysis seems not working when whales are controlling the market and it was the time I sold my btc. Anyway, no regrets as long as we still gain profits.

It also happens to me but I think it's my fault because I let myself get affected by fuds. Technical analysis doesn't 100% work on crypto market, even expert from forex and stocks says that. If you can't play with the whales the best thing to do is just hodl until you are satisfied with the profit.

I guess that is happening to many people, but we don't have to regret it because I think every one of us has a reason why we sell the bitcoin at that time. Sometimes our prediction and analysis are wrong and make us cannot make a bigger profit but trust me, and we will have another chance to make a bigger profit in the future. We need to keep trying to search a low price to buy and sell at a high price, and we will see that in the future. It doesn't matter if we cannot do right now because our time will come soon to make a bigger profit.

It has always be the a good to me even if am in lost but I believe to bounce back in a short time or future so I seey self been lucky to have to it now even if its late to me cos I got to know bitcoin when it was around $13 in 2013 but never know or do research on it .

So I have discover how important it is now and believe it will be a great step for me.

This is so relatable. It looks like most of us experienced this. We were highly affected by our emotions, needs, and fuds. We can't do anything but go with the flow, it happened and we can't do anything about it. Playing with your funds is such a risky move, you might end up with a great profit or loss that most of us sell it instead.

As a traders, you should accept this reality, once you hold your coins, you hope that it tripled in value or wish that it will not go down and when you sold your coin, there's a possibility that it will go up, this is why we have this magic word called HODL

Dont worry bro because your not alone with that as i also experienced the same delima . unlike you im always making btc withdrawals but at most time that i cash out the value decreases and will return two days or more and then the value of btc will fall again the day that im about to exchange them for fiat because i do also need the funds imediately  .

i think this happens because other users are also selling once they recieve their btc salary on that day

This is a good example on how we must know what’s the difference of investments to daily profit, because bitcoin Holingis what profitable but for long time and not just a random days to take away our investments.just like what you did OP.whe you just withdraw your coins to buy something that can be covered if you know how to separate your daily needs ,emergency needs and investment money.
Bitcoin should be taken seriously and let be seat in your wallet for longer time and keep it that way

For me, I don't even mind now the price of bitcoin when I sell my BTC because when the time that I need money, I just sell it. In the very beginning, I know that the nature of bitcoin's price is very fluctuating and if I overthink after selling my bitcoin what I have lost it's very exhausting for me. When I sell my bitcoin in the very first time, I feel guilty because after the day bitcoin price jumps up. But I manage to calm my self because I need the money at that moment, need to pay the bills and also buy some foods. It truly depends on the situation, once you needed to sell your bitcoin to have some money for an emergency or your daily lives, I'm sure that's you will not hesitate and feel guilty after that.  :)

At least once we all had the feeling that we are selling at the wrong time. But there is actually no good or bad time, it's depending on your estimation and if you need the money at that moment. It's important that you not generate the loss but there will always be situations when you will think that you sold too soon and that you could have made bigger profit.

U need to know when and how to enter market , this is why we can't do away from TA "technical analysis" no matter what it still win cos it will give a clue of what could happen and if not certain then you wait and see when to enter but if certain then you enter and enjoy yr profit and every thing still get to both side as there is no way you would get lost but it will be minimal .

It is said that those investing in Bitcoin should do so with their spare money so as not to complain about either loosing funds or selling off their coins at a very low price and from your explanation, I understand that is what you have ended up in doing, selling off at a very rate. just ensure not to invest with your only available funds.

although I didn't do exactly what you did but I did. but I bought bitcoin when it started rising back in 2017 the price of bitcoin when I bought some was around $2300
and I bought $1200 worth of bitcoin and I was in shock when it reach almost $20k at the end of the year. when the price wouldn't reach 20k and started going down
I had a feeling that it is time to withdraw and I did and made a $6164 profit and had a wonderful Christmas and new year.

Bitcoin has still been good for me because I can take the profit every time I sell. Although I realize that the price now is down deeper than before, I am sure that soon, the price will increase higher. No need to worry for that because of bitcoin still strong to survive in the market and bitcoin only wait for the right time to increase and start the rally. When you want to sell your bitcoin, make sure you sell when the price increases so you can get the profit, and you don't have to regret if you cannot sell at the very highest price because you will get that time comes to you.

I have my own rule that I always buy only after a price decrease of at least 10-15% as usually price recovers in the near future, and always sell only when market increase with at least 15-20%.

You can't always sell the top or buy the bottom. The people that claim they can are either extremely lucky or they are lying. I've also sold BTC way too early this year and originally assumed that $4000 would be resistance since it was the weekly high and where price stalled in Jan and Feb 2019. Then I assumed $6000 would be resistance since its where the previous strong support of 2018 was, I assumed it would be strong resistance and it wasn't.

Same with the $10000 psychological number, I assumed that most people will sell before $10K since its a nice round number and also $9950 or so was the weekly resistance from May 2018, and again price kept going higher and higher. So don't beat yourself up.

You need to understand that Bitcoin is a very volatile asset. The only way of dealing with a volatile asset is to make your own targets. You need to set a target level at which you are going to sell a specific percentage of your coins. You can set another stop loss target as well. If you strictly follow this plan, then the chances are that you may avoid any large losses.

Yes.You can set a goal price when to sell your coins so that if it happened,it will be easy for you to sell your coins without thinking what would be the next price after you had sell out. There's no use looking back at your regrets because it won't help you at all.Move forward and continue dwelling with positive thoughts. After all,you didn't lose, you just only made a little profit at least.

in my opinion back from where we got the bitcoin,if from the results of tradding and we sell, we get another profit, then the pump is good, that's good, because we can get the profit so it doesn't matter if the pump, if you want to hold it it's also hard to guess whether it will go down or go up again so just take the middle ground

It’s a very funny thing, it happen most times to some of us, and I think it is just a confidence sometimes, not because the market really wanted to go against us, this is the reason why you see that many people would just die for that ATH, they don’t just bother themselves with the lows and high and even when they see that the market is seriously declining, they just hold on still and waiting for when the bull run will come, I think they have more peace than those that are always selling,.

Like my friend the op has sold, he might have sold when there was profit though, but he would still have lost a lit in future if the market continues to surge and the only chance he gets is to buy at that high, so what is the essence of selling when he would still lose his profit when he buys at higher price.

Oh My God I'm so sorry for your mom and your life. I hope everything get better for you soon. Maybe it's just a bit bad luck before success, or maybe you're careless enough to experience those things continuously. I don't mean bad, but maybe you don't analyze the situation well or such. But on emergency like that i think it's okay if you sold your btc because you need money. But then, because btc is volatile you need to know and accept the fact that it can increase and decrease anytime. You just need to analyze and know the right time to sell and buy. Lucky for me, i've been at the time when bitcoin is so high, in 2017. I sold almost all of my bitcoin that time and i don't regret because after that bitcoin price went down. I'm trying to start again from zero and i hope i can do well too this time.

I have experienced this several time and I don't know why it happens that way.

This is how the whales are fucking you.  They know.  You pay.  Get used to taking it up the ass, that's the way it is going to be for a long time. Or, become a whale.
I can't see iota of truth with your words, because OP problem was impatience and lack of believe to what he or she hold unto, what you never believe will not give out profits, let's lean to trust what we believe, hence things will always fall bad towards us. Whales controlled the.market but they won't force you to sell whenever the.price is going down. We holders sell because of lack of believe on the technology, for me, Bitcoin is a saviour.

This is a common phenomenon that happens to many crypto enthusiasts. It is not always that you make huge returns on your holdings so once awhile you can also regret after selling and the price of bitcoin shoots up. But when you continue to sell or hodl and make losses most of the times than making more money then you are not lucky.

Sometimes you have to patiently wait for the market to change course if you have a plan to either buy or sell. You just don't sell it because you are feeling bored and wanted to have some fun. I saw some thread here that he sold his bitcoin because he was just too bored and now end up crying, complaining why did he do that. Learn to control your emotion to make a better decision.

I've experienced this a lof of times, I sold my holding when the price is low I am doing the reverse,  because of financial issue and failure to set aside an emergency fund for emergency use.
This could be justifiable, if anyone is found with such excuse from whatsoever he or she does with her funds in cryptocurrency. But all be said, there is always a need to set aside some funds for emergency purpose and set the ones for investment aside and keep them to be untouche. This has been how I operate my life in the real world and things works for me without street or without any regret, so, I will encourage all to take this advise to avoid regret.

In this case I blame my fate. In my case it is almost like that. When I sell, the price is low. And with the sale, the price goes up. I just hold it without having to sell it. When $15000 comes, I'll sell it.
We can’t blame ourselves so much in making some of those decisions that has done nothing but work against us, not everyone can trade, and some times, to really know the direction of a coin, you have to apply technical and fundamental analysis, but how difficult it is to really apply both, which is why some of us do use gut instinct, you can only say that your gut instinct has failed you and in cryptocurrency that as a volatile market, the best is just to buy coin at low value and continue to hold it until there is a large increase if we believe that such coin will actually bring a large increase, like bitcoin now, I don’t expect bitcoin to increase lower than $18000 in future, so before I can  take any of my investment in bitcoin, till It reaches $18k, then I can make my decision ten.

If you think too much about the past, then you will never taste success in the future. I have seen a lot of people regretting their decision to sell their coins (including myself  ;D). So whatever losses you have incurred, just forget about them and move on. I am 100% sure that you will not only be able to recover them, but to profit from the future trades handsomely.

I agree, I have also experienced selling bitcoin at low prices and after being sold, the price of bitcoin rose by more than $ 1000. This happened to everyone and I think this incident will provide a lesson that bitcoin is a long-term investment.

I am sure many others will have the same experience. We cannot blame the market because the market will run with the traders buy and sell. We will see that it is happening in the future because the market will be like that. We should remember that if there is a buy order, then there will be a sell order and every order should be filled. Bitcoin still gives benefits for us, especially if we can use the different buy price and sell price so we can take the profit for us. I think we can learn from those experiences so we can be careful again in the future and we can get a bigger profit.

That's why the easiest method of investing in crypto is just to hold, by just holding, you don't have to worry on whatever sideways movement of price because you are only focus on one target, which is to sell when you see the price that could give you profit.

Usually, when we are doing short term trading, it's very stressful if we don't master managing ourselves, our emotion is the main hindrance to success, we forget that we should play it smart using our mind not our emotion.
