The Account recovery team up to and including Cyrus has been helpful.

My problem is i don't have a signed BTC address that i have control of.  The problem the shitty core has failed me miserably several times turning corrupt and having to reinstalling a fresh new core with a new address.

Last year i lost my legendary account otrkid70 because i did't change my PW after the 2015 breach.

I have tried to recover the account even with the help of former Global Moderator Saltyspitoons testimony regarding a transaction that we did.

Ok Fair Enough...The recovery team has little to go on and move forward with.

Solution? I made a transaction selling a 10,000 Dogecoin to a user here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2700822.0 before my account was hacked. The user payed in Dogecoin to an address i still own and can verify.  The address was given to the Buyer Via P.M.

These P.M.s can be verified by the Admins and the address can be seen by them and verified by me. How do you know it's me and not the hacker?
The hacker already has control of the account and would not be posting this.   Also  I.P. addresses can be confirmed by an ADMIN same now as last year before the Hijack.

How about the original email that was used to register your account with, what happened with it? Do you still have access to it?
According to the new procedure having access to the original email can be a way to verify you are the original owner of an account.

If you can sign that address, and provide a message ID or a rough date the address was sent an admin could potentially take a look, and accept it.



I'd hope that this was only true if a signed address was provided as well, because the database leaked email addresses also, and could of potentially been using the same password. I'm not part of the team, and I don't know how they go about recovering the accounts, but a full suite original email, signed address, and IP address will likely be the best option. I'd say the original email address would be the lowest priority due to the fact that email, and hashed passwords were leaked.

Again don't go by what I'm saying as I have no idea of the requirements specifically, but just my opinion regarding original email address.

The original Email had the same PW as my Bitcointalk account they took it too...I know I know a Rookie mistake.

Luckily my password was different, but it didn't stop people from trying to get access to the email. I had all sorts, warnings from my email provider that so, and so tried logging in, and also social engineering techniques to my email to try, and get information out of me. Let's not forget the multiple phishing emails posing as blockchain.info, and coinbase etc. We all get lapse in security now, and again, and thankfully that was one of the things that made me up my security. It has been known that experts to have relatively weak passwords, because its both easy, and convenient.

Any account can only be recovered to the original email used for registration.
Without having access to the original email, your lost account can't be recovered to another email even you succeed to confirm the ownership of a staked address.

This what I can confirm according to the several cases I read about since the new recovery system was implemented few months ago.

I think it's case by case how the team handles the recovery
having access to original registered email address and staked address definitely increase your chance
I believe the team has their own technique and procedure to confirm the ownership of the account
several factors may be taken into consideration by the team
whether the account is currently accessed from the same or way different IP location,
with any proof of hacking, transferring ownership, and other things
