Well it appears there are some Chinese dedicated to reselling, so first they buy all they can from the manufacturer, and if they succeed depleting supply, proceed to resell at much higher price. Especially when the manufacturer has still not increased production and the price of bitcoin is high... Should the price go down, those re-sellers are going to find themselves in trouble.

Which is how we ended with 1200$ S17 being sold for like 4000$... Supply and demand i guess.

Probably not. Anyone can open a listing on Alibaba AFAIK, for anything they want. I wouldn't buy from there. Imo; it's just going to be a hassle, perhaps you get a product, but it might not be new, or working as intended, and then what? It's not like you're going to be able to send it back.

plus the fact that if they're actually real, they wouldn't be selling them on Alibabi without a huge mark up rate. Thus it'd probably be smarter to wait for official resellers/bitmain to release a new batch, both risk-wise and money-wise.

I mean looking at the feedback, https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Trade-assurance-40-7ksol-s-1150W_60787014391.html this one could be real, but is it really worth the risk? What if there's something wrong with it? I doubt there's any warranty at all on this machine.

They would just simply say that the warranty isn't possible yet they are just resellers. hehe and this is indeed the hassle thing on buying up into non-trusted sellers of these miners.
You cant be sure on items condition plus with the warranty if anything goes wrong.Being too rush on buying up things will really have high chances on experiencing headaches later on.

That's true and they are good at it, they are very enterprise they either buy all your stocks to sell at a very high price or they replicate your product and sell at a very low price, there are so many pirated products coming in China here in our market and they beat the real products in terms of sales.

Avoid all items like miners on any of these marketplace websites, whether it came from alibaba or amazon as long its not official retailer of the product/item then you're at risk.

I've bought used miners from Aliexpress before in the past with relatively few issues, but never from Alibaba, though I have bought things from Alibaba in the past and it can be a bit of a hassle in my experience. I also don't have much experience with using Alibaba's customer protection since I've never had to use it, but considering how much you could potentially be paying for the miners I'd say it's really just not worth it.
