after a number of useful suggestions, we will switch to a poll to select the first coins to exchange.

a useful characteristic is zero obvious value.
although if you want to swap BTC for ALIVE we may forego destroying those particular coins ;)

how it 'll work.
we'll assign 1,00,000 ALIVE to a dead coin.

lets say you have 100,000 dead coins you want to swap.
we'll look at the total availability, lets say there are 30,000,000 dead coins in circulation.

you'll be able to get 100k/30m * 1m ALIVE.

we'll set up an exchange system for a limited duration of 2 weeks FOR EACH COIN,
and then exchange dead for ALIVE.

you'll end up with less ratio of coins.. but 5% of zero is worth the same as 10% of zero..


we imagine coin distribution will be slightly messy :)
not all of each dead coins will be exchanged, so there will be numerous ALIVE left over from each coin exchange.
these will be held/used for future dead coin exchanges.

all dead coins exchanged will be destroyed.

2.5% of ALIVE will be used for dev purposes.

.what are the benefits of exchanging for ALIVE ?

ALIVE will have a greater distribution, and more active/interested parties than your current dead coin.
we will encourage active community involvement in developing small uses for ALIVE.

we imagine the distribution will be essentially happen in a haphazard manner. it will take an indeterminate amount of time to finish.
we encourage early exchangers to help to develop this coin rather than dump at first opportunity.

if we have 12,000,000 coins, and we allocate 1,00,000 to each dead coin - that looks like we can mange 24 deadoins .. however not all coins will be exchanged so there WILL be coins left over after each exchange.

the most important point, is one that has zero value, some coins are still trading. these are not dead. still, don't let that stop you proposing an exchange if you want to get out.

yes. how we could ever manage to prove such a feat though will obviously be difficult.

possibly boot off a usb drive, fresh install a wallet, create an address, copy that address.
then smash the usb drive .... all in the comfort of your lounge room. we will need your residential address for that.

.when and how will you start exchanging ?

when will depend on community involvement. who wants to exchange coins ??
we expect the official announcement to take place in about 1 week when its ready.

for how, we imagine at least two different scenarios ; piecemeal exchange and wholesale exchange.

piecemeal would involve small exchange quantities. this would require a formula for exchange that would change over time, based on # of coins in circulation at time of exchange. and would initially happen via PM, forum or something similar.

wholesale, would involve large community participation and desire for exchange.
this could involve a third party exchange setting up single use currency pairs DEAD/ALIVE. that could be utilised by a large group of people.

.will you exchange slightly alive coins ?

if someone really wants to exchange a reasonable quantity of FLAPPY coins for ALIVE, then we'll probably assist them.
it'll probably work out easier for us in terms of work :)

.what quantity of a coin will you exchange ?

quantities happily dealt with will be based on the coin in question and whether it will be piecemeal or wholesale.

the idea seems to have come to a few .. it's time HAS COME !!

people have already done the work/invested in what are now the dead coins.
there is no need to invest more PoW into ALIVE as it will be made from the compost of prior PoW.

that said,
there will be work to be done.

exchanging one valueless coin for another then entails some further effort to create value from that coin... and the ALIVE coin team will have to work long and hard to transfer numerous million ALIVE to others in a simple and fair manner.

What is this coin?

simple version.
there are many coins that people have put a lot of "work" into, that for various reasons are now dead, nearly dead, or should be dead.

the aim of ALIVE, is to effectively transfer this work into a new coin. ALIVE will be a conglomeration of a number of coins.
joining together a wider community of bag holders into a single community of bag holders.

it is much easier to base the alt coin community on smaller number of coins, whilst this adding +1. it also subtracts desire and suffering from the dead coins.

there is at least one other coin offering a similar solution currently. see DELETE coin.

we feel ALIVE coin offers a simpler coin, with no more PoW needing to be added to system.
and ALIVE also offers positivity in its' essence :D

ALIVE is also aimed to dodge the pump and dump market, as most coins that have any traction seem to attract.

we will actively attempt to keep ALIVE off any market place until a reasonable proportion of ALIVE has been distributed .. we have no idea about any sort of timeline to be honest, it all depends on uptake from the various coins that will be consumed.

hopefully the knowledge that the coin is fully pre-mined will also prevent people from buying in too soon :)
