Title: Advice Needed
Post by: mrquackquack on July 05, 2019, 12:57:01 AM
I am looking to build or create a token/coin in the future with the least amount of coding, programming etc etc and i would like to know the communities opinion into which platform i should look into for the best available product, also i would like to see some different real use cases, what a good total supply would be maybe some names etc etc... Let me know. Thanks

Ethereum is the most popular blockchain for most of these new projects. Binance chain is quite new but the number of projects migrating there is growing. Other popular blockchains to choose from are Stellar, Waves, Tron, Eos.

I'm not sure what "real use case" you are looking for here, I believe that has to come from you. If you have no idea yet, maybe it is best to study the market first and see what problems you can solve using blockchain technology?

rosezionjohn made it clear.

You can always check if online solutions fits your needs...there is a site WalletBuilders or something.
... or you can fork away from Bitcoin  :-\

Ethereum platform is the most popular and very friendly to use. But I will prefer partnering with a project to solve some problem rather than creating another token that could require a huge cost of building a community and making the project well known. Just my thought but dreams should never be killed.

Well you can look into etherum for it’s good, accommodating, easy for start ups and convenient to handle
If you can stand out, you can look up to Neo or tron blockchain or xlm

But what type of project do you have in mind ? Get to the service section if you need services

ERC20 it's the easiest i do believe you need to find a purporse for the token though, there are people that create a token for barely any money. Research that, also ERC20 tokens can be easily listed in DEX exchanges. For example Switchdex.ag (http://Switchdex.ag) you can just list a supported token for free and start trading it there

Thanks for all the helpful feedback, much appreciated. I think i or we etc etc would have to find a platform where "it" as "it" being the token or coin can be run on and in which the platform will provide "it" the security of the network and also speed as in transactions etc etc, so hopefully in the future "it" may have the chance to be adopted by the masses. There are plenty of coins out there but lets say i go out and buy some groceries its not feasible to spend lets say bitcoin on it because its not fast enough and that in my opinion is the majority of the coins out there. No offense but i don't want to stay in line 10 minutes even longer to buy something, i believe it's tangible as a store of wealth but everyday use? Not so much..

To build or create a new coin, it needs very deep analysis, plan, and also concept. Never make similar cocnept of the crypto as the others because you will have many competitors. I think ERC20 or Stellar is also a good choice for the platform token. And it is better to start conceptualizing about the product to release, a real team that will ensure us, the way of promotions, and also limited total supply (depends on the price of your coin or token).

what a good total supply would be maybe some names
Most of the altcoins that I've seen has more than 50 Million of supply. Though the most good ones has lesser than that number.

What does the community think would be a good supply cap for a coin, what platform has the easiest integration and fastest speeds and how much money would be a reasonable figure to start a well developed project?

Maybe around 40M or lesser? I don't have an estimation about the good total supply but what matters most is if your coin is going to be usable, tradable with nice volume.

I'm not a developer so I have no idea about the cost but with the platform, there's plenty of them you can choose within these.
  • BNB
  • ETH
  • QTUM
  • NEM
  • TRON
There's more but those are the ones that I've known.

First, ask yourself why are you doing this? What is your main motivation why you want to create your own coin? Are you planning to have long life in crypto? I do think, you are the only one who can answer those questions. You should have strong desire on launching your own project because along the way you will encounter a lot of bottlenecks that might hinder the completion of your project. And if your motivation is not so strong, you will end up abandoning what you started.

Well yes indeed we were chatting about this earlier but we need real life use, i think the majority of the people out there myself included would be more susceptible to use a currency if it's easy to use. It needs to be user friendly. So what type of functions would make that happen? In your own opinion.

Considering everything you need to know, your token will simply be useless. Your idea will not be unique. I do not think that you will succeed, because the competition at the moment is great and continues to grow, or maybe you want to create something useful for society? Also unlikely, as well as the fact that you can make money from it.

I have never seen a project in collaboration with an online shopping site. so I hope you develop the project. I take the example of the etsy.com site, so the way it works is that everyone who is going to shop must buy a token first, and the seller also has a wallet to store the token.

ERC tokens are mostly released on Ethereum platform. Ethereum platform is affordable, popular and easier to use. So first choice should be Ethereum platform. You can also opt for other platforms like Binance, Tron, Waves or EOS. Binance is also a new platform which is gradually gaining popularity. You can also choose Binance platform as well.

Erc20 smart contract is the most easy open source you can use but can I ask why would you want to create your own token? We have too many tokens already aren't you tired of that?

I would assume that many would suggest the ERC20 since this is most popular at this moment and its very easy to integrate and operate compared to the other platforms, and i second the motion of this recommendation, since the erc20 is most popular this time, and many projects used this platforms, and we all know how easy and its tradable and accepted almost in all exchangers.

If you are looking for a quick profit then the gambling platform on the blockchain is the go to. But if you are aiming for project that has a huge potential then it's on the AI niche. It's not going to be long until companies will start to offer ai services on companies and it's going to make them spend less and with the help of blockchain, it's much more easy to sell.

Other products also have roles that have the same results, but pets in a project cannot be in the north with a number of factors that we cannot invest in the coding role

My advice is you should try to compare each platform you know by trying to make a test so you will know about the advantage and the disadvantage. That will be necessary to decide which platforms you want to use so you can choose the right platforms for your project. I think TRON platforms could be an option as we know that right now, many project base on the TRON network but don't forget we have Ethereum that you can use as the platforms. Maybe you need to hire some programmers who have a skill in building a network base on each platform so they can give their suggestion too to you.

Which platform do you think would be most user friendly and also giving the most freedom of the coin? I checked out stellar lumens and it seemed that you could build a token on their network but afterwards it seemed like they would have lots of control over it.. Something of which kind of gives off a red flag..

You want to create a coin / token, but you do not know what you will do it with, what it will be called and why it is needed?
Lol! Have you decided to troll us? Because of developers like you, the industry cannot start developing.

Ethereum platform is currently most used, so the advantage is that people know how to use it and most of them have their personal wallet.
But currently Ethereum is not the best platform for Dapps due to slow transactions and high fees.  :-\

When will you start planning to make tokens? There are only two platforms that are suitable and easy to function, namely TRON platform and Platform Ethereum. Do not make a large total supply, because it will look like it has no value. I think you have understood the intentions and suggestions that I gave, right? Thanks.

Nowadays binance chain is also getting popular so you may study that if you want to create a new token and additional benefit will be the listing and trading of the token at binance dex but i will suggest you to not just create a useless token just for the sake of attention or money, if you have proper idea, product with use cases and excellent team only then you should come up with your project.

There is plenty of sites that offer token/coin creation . Ofcourse it will cost some money to use that service , but i just did find like 3 companies that offer that kind of service . Depends on what you need , if its just some simple erc token then it cost peanuts . If you would like to create something minable / POS type coin then it will cost more . Just use google and you will find it :)

Yea but i need something better than just another token I want to make it real case useable, accessible etc etc... We have probably thousands with no use case and are more or less just sitting there.. I don't think that's healthy for the system..

Ethereum is one of the easiest for creating new tokens. You can also try TRX blockchain. Both are okay in my eyes. However, if you don't have the idea to relate it with a real life, I don't think it will be worthy as well. Better you build up an idea before you go live.

Well i thought about Ethereum and I like Ethereum but i came to the conclusion that I don't want to put it on the Ethereum platform because of the fees involved. I don't think it would be practical.

I think that everything will depend on the purpose of creating your coin. If this is a coin for games, then it is better to choose the TRX blockchain.

This is exactly  how the devil’s voice sounds when he is trying to discourage people against doing what is right or trying their ability, because I do not see any reason why you have to discourage him or kill the project for him before arrival. If he does not try it, how would he ever know if it will be of interest for people or not, and don’t be surprise that these type of projects are what use to take the attention of people.

The only advice he needed was on which platform would be best for him to carry out his project but never asked you if he will fail or succeed. He has the ability to make it successful, and because there are competitors in the market should not stop him from having his own projects, he may do what will stand out amongst those competitors and topple them all.
