The same way as you would pay an invoice or send someone bitcoin by scanning the QR code. The QR card printed is your public key. So instead of having to launch your wallet and scan your phone at a bitcoin ATM, you would just wave your card instead. This takes the phone away completely. So when you use a btc ATM or accept a deposit from a friend or customer, you just scan your card.
