The last couple that have traded hands have been for 5k plus.  Good luck on this as there are only 30.

What is the medium size 18"x24" going for?

When Anonymousminer posted:

I think he was referring to the medium size (18"x24"), as there were only 30 of those produced (I believe) and they had an initial selling price of $3000.  Here's the CryptoArt.com website https://cryptoart.com/product/protectionism

The small 8 1/2" x 11" size I am STILL looking for, had an initial run of 100.

There are only 30 of the small prints and 8 of the medium, you can see the in the pics on the site 1/30 and 1/8.

The large print I’m not so sure about but the wiki page (https://wiki.coin.community/Cryptoart_-_Protectionism) says there’s 5 so they must have posted somewhere about it.

What you've said above is VERY inaccurate.  When I said the last couple traded hands for 5k plus, I meant the small size as you had a WTS on the small one so I thought that was pretty clear.  Either way this clears it up.

There were:
30 - small 8.5" x 11"
8 - medium 18" x 24"
5 - large 24" 30"

The sale price you see on the website was what the owner posted the last Medium and Large for on the website LONG ago.  They were initially offered on the site in the same range as the rest as far as price goes.

You are STILL going to pay a HEFTY price to own one.

and you two are not the only ones seeking it - I am as well. And there are probably a dozen or more here on the forums who would also jump on one if it came to auction here.

So I am a collector of all of Troy Fearnow's wares...(He is the Cryptoart Founder).  I have a few of the small Protectionism prints and I am also the owner of Print number 1 of the large (1 of 5).  I am thinking about unloading the large but I put at least 1000$ into the Frame by having it professionally mounted and so on.  Because I have not been on this forum for years, reply on this thread and when I get privileges to do DMs we can talk.  I also have most of the other prints that are sold out with the exception of the Satooshi Round table series.  Mostly low number prints.  Also some unpublished, well, prints that were never publicly sold.   I can post pics etc if anyone is interested.

I believe there will be many interested parties in some of these prints, I certainly am. An auction would not be a bad idea to allow interested parties an opportunity to get one. Just my 2 sats.

Shhh with that lol - I stand zero chance of getting one in an auction lol

That being said, an auction would prolly net the most revenue.

Join the looking club.  I still haven't found one and nobody's contacted me since I originally posted.

I was hoping somebody purchased several copies so they could up sell later, but I'm beginning to think they are all solo owned.

Hi Folks, I just wanted to chime in because I figured I'd have a few pics up by today, unfortunately I got held up on the road and have not had a chance yet.  To my delight, it appears that there is a great deal of interest in these works.  Has anyone seen any of the other large pieces offered anywhere besides from Troy's site where they were originally sold?  I really loved the Dark Coin project before they went down the (IMHO wrong) road to me to become Dash....So that is why I went for the large print and paid a premium for print #1 (I bought the print just before the rebranding if I recall).  Not to mention the art is (IMHO again) in opinion the best ever on any of the Cryptoart prints.  That said, I do love ALL of Alexander Fedesov's work though, for sure.  I think that Fedesov's Patriot and Nina Y's Protectionism are both penultimate "OG Cryptoart".

Sooo, I'm going to poke around on the forum rules to see what the auction rules are and how that works here.

I can say that my goal when I first considered selling this and a few other pieces was to wait for Troy to offer legitimate NFTs associated with the works.  Troy mentioned this on his site or directly to me via email a few years ago or so.  However, it seems like the NFT rollout is at least a slow train coming. He did mention Fake NFT's on the site...https://cryptoart.com/beware-of-fake-cryptoart-nfts/  I would think that creating associated NFTs for the pieces would add value overall.  Any thoughts?

It's been a while since I've heard from him so I might shoot him a message wrtt.  Also, It would be great to see some new art come along (the last "new" piece was the Tinkerer), but I think his focus was on implementing the NFTs...

If you PMd me I will get back to you when I can, and I promise to post up the pics.  I also would love feedback on my mat /frame choice, I spent a lot of time getting the mat color right to work with the green tones in the clouds of the background, and blacks and greys that dominate the piece to work with the the frame itself.

Thanks for your patience.

Here are some super rough pics I shot quickly just to have something up.  The art is in mint condition under the glass, the glass and frame needs a little dust off but I didn't have time;  the piece has been in a climate controlled bedroom with some other pieces for the last 7 years....

Amazing, it's really beautiful  are you finally going to auction it?  ::)
Regarding the framing, I think that a silver frame and a white border is an optimal result

Hi All,

I'm sorry that I have been away from the forum for several weeks.

For the large Protectionism print, I have received a great deal of PMs but have only replied to a few.  I have had offers of both BTC and cash.  Being a bitcoiner I do prefer crypto, and I'll elaborate on that later (it would make escrow more feasible).  The majority of the offers were from very low post count forum members and were in the 5-10K USD price range, however a fair amount were from seasoned a nd verifiable aged accounts.  I've had a few offers between 0.2 and 0.3 BTC, and also a couple for other crypto.  Ironically no offers toi trade Dash lol.

For the small Protectionism prints, other small prints and so on.  Offers were all over the map and I have those in the Cryptoart "Survivors Kit" Cryptoart Collector’s Books with other prints, so I'll shelf the notion of liquidating those for the time being just because I'm really too busy to put in the work to break up the collection and sell them.  I've made a reasonably strong and successful effort at obtaining low print numbers that match across series.  IE I have matching number Fedesov prints across the whole "Girl" spectrum (Same print number for Patriot, Bobby, Soldier, Chinese Girl, and Nun).  Therefor I think in those cases the sum of the collection is worth more than the sum of the separated parts.

Also, I just looked at the photos I posted, and I can see they kind of suck.   I'd like to take better pictures.  Also, I failed to post a photo showing a close up of the print showing the 1/5 (print number 1 of 5) up close.  Furthermore I really want to talk to Troy F from Cryptoart.com WRT his progress or lack thereof about corresponding NFTs.  I personally think this is something that will add value to the pieces but am unsure of the detail on how he plans to implement this.

That said, I'd like to plan as follows.  When time allows and I've crossed my Ts and dotted my I's move ahead with an auction for just the Large First Edition Protectionism.  Having not done my homework on how auctions here work, I will need to do so.  For the protection of both myself and the buyer, having a 3rd party escrow would be prudent.  I would likely start the auction at around 0.15 BTC, but I'd likely flex that after consulting with experienced sellers.

Does anyone have any thoughts on any of the details above and how I can best choose the appropriate escrow party?

av8rjeff, I just had a chance to reply to your PM but "unable"  Possible pilot deviation on my part lol.  Based on your handle, it looks like you are a pilot.  I too am A V 8!  To say I'm away a lot is an understatement.  So if you have me blocked for untimely reply reasons, my apologies.  I recently changed jobs and was getting a new type rating after the post I made last month.  I'm sure you know the life of a pilot!  Be well.  If you unblock my PMs I'd have a moment to chat.  Fly safe!

for escrow I would first recommend minerjones, lesbian cow, krogothmanhattan or even myself - we have all done escrow for the forum members here. I am prolly the newest to being doing so - starting only about 2 years ago. But you do have many choices.

Hi MoparminingLLC, thank you for the offer and your interest in some of my pieces.

For now, I'm going to wait before I auction anything or sell unless the offer is just too good.  The reason is that Cryptoart.com is in flux as the proprietor shifts to "new and improved"  where (I assume) all newly sold pieces will have the corresponding NFT sold with the piece.  That means to me that all the legacy stuff prior to the NFTs will be even more collectable due to scarcity.  He has announced via the web site that the pathway to NFTs is close and he's also looking to hire a community manager.  See the site.  My two cents - buy whats left soon before it's gone.  I'm now looking to buy more myself, especially Fedesov low number smalls and maybe a few larges... Be well!
