I`ll give you another merit if you move this post to meta discussion because that is where it belongs. (bottom left of page)

You earn merit based of saying something people like pretty much, or doing something people like, creating something people like(like a post or code).
I would not worry about merit to much, it is like counting the pats on your back, stroking your e-ego. Most peoples merits are forgery's anyways.

Your account has been registered since January 2018 and you are still asking about merit?
Read here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1689727.0
You can get all information clearly and completely.

Timebits already gave you one, but still getting merits depends on how users would treat your post. If they find it interesting or in most cases helpful they could be encouraged to merit your post if they have at least 1 smerit.

so how can i get it, it`s written in the website they someone should transfer it to me, is it applicable?

I've merited yesterday a post that answers pretty good to your question. I'll quote it here for you:

Here is few points

1- There is no Solution for getting merit without quality post.
2- It's makes me laugh when you suggeste merit should be based on account age. If user not able to received single merit in 1 or 2 years then he or she doesn't deserve to be here on the forum.

The invention of Merit system is for increasing quality post and make this forum clean from shitpost. Here is few points you should consider for getting merits besides all your nonsense ideas about getting merit :- :-

1- Spend your time on reading
2- Gain your knowledge about forum rules
3- Gain your knowledge about Bitcoin and its technology
4- Improve your english
5- If you don't know where to post then try it from your local board
6- Be constructive post and help other.
7- Avoid bounty campaign untill you achieve member or full member rank
8- Think before post. Your post should be useful for other person.
9- Get inspiration from those members who achieve their rank and shared their inspirational journey with Bitcointalk.
10- Don't think about merit so much. Concentrate about improving yourself.

Getting merits is through posting good quality contents that can help other user here,or posting informative threads that can contribute on knowledge on bitcoin and anything else here in the forum, making threads that will help us develop to be a better trader/bitcoiner will surely gain you merits maybe not that much but slowly you can climb up.

Just write good quality content, something what can benefit others.
In our local Croatian section, we even have thread where users can report good quality posts so that merit source members can see it and reward.
I sew such threads also on other parts of the forum.

Have you tried making really good, insightful posts that are helpful to others? Try that and report back to see if that works.

You have got 1 Merit.
For the next, give a good and constructive post.
Ohh, don't forget to read this one.

Topic: Merit & new rank requirements (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0)

Oh, I see your profile 7 posts and activities.

I am sure you are not new, because you are registered in 2018, and now you are just awake.

Timebits already gave you one
And I wonder why he or she did, even though giving out merits are subjective, I do not see any reason why it should be given out for generic questions on "how can I earn merits"
This same questions have been asked and answered a thousand times already, and anyone still asking such is either not reading or doesn't want to.
Have you tried making really good, insightful posts
If OP can ponder on this question, then I think he'll understand how he'll get merits from others.

They are still new to this forum, even if they've been registered for over a year surely? Their rank is still newbie, hence they are new.
I don't think accusing a newbie of being "old" to the forum is a worthwhile discussion of semantics personally.

Or his/her post quality is low because s/he is interested in bounty campaigns, giveaways and other shitcoin related stuff, and is now aware that some rank is required for most of those.

There are only 4 posts, so it's hard to tell, but again, having only 4 posts after a year, shows that little interest has been put into the forum. In that case, you would be right: the person is a complete newbie

If you really want to get merits, then make a good and quality post/topic that may be a useful contribution to the forum. Reduce spam posting and bounty hunting posts, make your post a simple but constructive. There are few similar threads as this, maybe this links may help you. Feel free to read them.

You should use an account that you made, try posting on your local boards in your native language because bad English won't get you any merit here.

Seriously? I hope this irrational judgement isn't a reflection of the rest of the community here. They (singular) posted nowhere about giveaways, or signups to giveaways, instead they posted twice in 2018 before returning. Firstly asking how to securely store digital coins. Here is their first post, since it seems you presumably didn't even bother to check their post history.

cryptocurrency market started to grow day after day, and everyone now started to own coins, so the question now which come to all the coin's holders , how to protect your digital coin from losing, stealing, hacking, etc ?

The second post was thanking a user for a useful answer to their question. Their 3rd and 4th posts are in this thread. Why so judgemental?
It looks like you're simply insulting a hodler to me, not a shitposter.

It's really not hard to tell, you just to need to read the posts. If you're wondering why I'm being so defensive towards this newbie, it's because I was new once too, probably you were as well. We need to treat new users with the respect and dignity they deserve, not assuming they are a shitposting bounty hunter like some insular cult; incapable of welcoming new users.
[/rant]

I`ll give you another merit if you move this post to meta discussion because that is where it belongs. (bottom left of page)

I can see exactly why they might of posted in Beginners section: to avoid any hostility from the meta section.

Depends really, if its not so bad that its readable, and they are making some good points or bringing something to the discussion then subpar English is fine. I'm not going to pass on too much judgement of grammar when this is a pretty international forum. There's plenty of posters who aren't great at English, but are still knowledgeable enough to provide quality discussion.

I know I sometimes take a bit of a draconian approach to some posts (not neccesarily newbies), but that does mean not that it's an irrational judgement, as you say. In my case, it comes from my own past with the forum: I came here for the money; but stayed for the technology. During that time of mine where I was only interested in making some quick cash (I believe my first 3/7 pages on post history), but as time has gone on, I have even been embarrased because of that (not that it matters, since it's the past. I have seen what people doing stuff just for money make to the forum, mostly because I've been there, done that.

Yes, I did check the post history, and BPIP; and I saw an old account, that woke up un February 2019, and has ever since made 4 posts. Half of those, are on a thread on how to earn merit; which in my oppinion, if the user had browsed the forum and read the stickies, s/he would know how activity and merit system work. There could still be some doubt though; as with the activity update periods (took me a long while to understand them) or any other stuff, but asking "How can I get Merit?" looks like a very poor interest on the forum itself (ignoring stickies).

I see your point, I and I agree with it; there is a long road between welcoming newbies and paving the way for spammers.

Agreed, I rarely surf B&H section; and when I see a thread with a title being so obvious and with an answer that has been said thousands of times; I simply ignore it (maybe not the best course of action, but people please do a bit of research). I was just surprised to see this question in meta, and I guess I snapped a bit. This time it was me; but it could've been another user.

How to get a merit easily?

Start a topic in Meta or anywhere else, asking about how to get merit and you'll surely get at least one merit but depends on your luck and other factors, even more...
So you can start to take part in bounty campaings quickly after...

Kidding of course...

EDIT:
IMHO the topic is lockable, OP has got the answer to the question (and the merit too :D )
