The difficulty of producing your own bitcoins is very high because other miners are using specialized hardware setups designed specifically for mining (and Bitcoins are produced at a set rate). You can explore the mining subforum (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=14.0) and see what the miners are talking about.Title: Re: wtf is mining Post by: SodColin on November 12, 2011, 02:38:59 PM https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Category:Mining

Seriously mining = hashing blocks = makes network secure. Miners are paid a reward of 50 BTC when they find the "solution" for a block. Given the difficulty in finding a solution most miners/hashers work in pools to split the reward when anyone in the pool solves a block. |
