Title: Is Etherdelta still OK to use?
Post by: bernardos on July 14, 2019, 07:09:36 PM
I know there were different problems with the exchange in the past. Sometimes the site is down completely, other times it seems very slow.
Is it still safe to use?
Is this the official website? https://etherdelta.com

I guess so. It's all based on a smart contract after all.

Is this the official website? https://etherdelta.com
Yes.

I just visited the site through the link you shared and the Account option has " ! " marked red no chart or no order book displayed. ::) Do not think it is working.

Probably because you checked a random token that has no orders...

BNB for example, seems to have a a few orders: https://etherdelta.com/#BNB-ETH

I suggest you make an entirely new wallet for trading on each exchange that utilizes smart contract. Transfer what you want to trade from your wallet that contains the crypto in question and send it to the new wallet you just created for use on the exchange. That way you only share the privatekey on your new wallet which you have made and dedicated to the use of etherdelta exchange. I do this and I feel much safer.

I suggest you never ever connect your main wallet to anything. Always send to another wallet first then to the exchange. This ensures that you never connect (not even by accident) your wallet to anything else.

As said, if the token you're trading there has no volume whether etherdelta is a good exchange for you to sell or buy that token, it will be no use because there's no volume.

Do not think it is working.
There are too many dead coins on etherdelta so before trading check it to other exchange maybe there's one that has a good volume where you can trade decently. What's this coin that you are telling?

I saw this exchanger also, for me its not good to use for those new in crpto traders. As you can see lot of coins there are shitcoins you can see nothing has a big volume from that exchange.

It actually doesnt look like the exchange is operational. The website loads just fine but MetaMask doesnt recognize it and after I login to my Metamask account it is still not recognized by Etherdelta. I initially thought there was a problem with my Metamask extension but it works just fine at ForkDelta.

Has anyone been able to use the exchange recently and perform some trades on it?

no they didnt  . there is still ed and its the original  . fd on the other hand is its sister site and they are owned by the same company  . fd is the liter version of ed  .

i dont use yobit bad i heard way too many bad feedbacks on it . i only use ed and there is alot of sh8t coins on them but ed was pretty useful for bounty and airdrop enthusiasts because ico /erc29 coins can be trade on them  .

Etherdelta is one of the decentralized platform, which I seldom to used it, unless if the token rewards that paid me was listed to that platform.
But for me I won't use it, because I won't go with the exchange that asking private key to have an access to your account, which is not safe and very risky honestly speaking.

I am looking for feedback from someone who has just recently used the site if it is working or not? To me it looks like it is not working anymore even if the website opens just fine.

I just noticed that many people are complaining about the order not going through in their live chat. Here is one comment

EtherDelta is broken at the moment and I suggest you do all this at https://forkdelta.app They use the same smart contract.
You can log in there with the same MetaMask or private key you use here and all your tokens and funds will appear there.
Orders and trades do not appear on EtherDelta since Feb when a necessary maintenance was not performed.

That is one comment from a user in their chat here https://etherdelta.com

There were issues been faced up on using the platform.Example on this one https://www.reddit.com/r/EtherDelta/comments/7pf9jk/order_not_getting_filled/

but it doesnt mean that they arent working anymore. You can clearly see on their market volume and everything is moving. If you are in doubts then you can use up other options.

Where do you see that? On the Etherdelta site?
If you look at the Trades & Volume tab the last trade was done on February 28!

I used this ED site very often to make exchanges, because it was very easy to use even though it was people who had just jumped into the crypto world they were very easy to understand and now I think everyone has ignored Etherdelta and moved to Forkdelta.

I suggest you never ever connect your main wallet to anything. Always send to another wallet first then to the exchange. This ensures that you never connect (not even by accident) your wallet to anything else.
Thus, to prevent unavoidable circumstances specifically if the site gets hack.

Before, I also use ethernext.io which is likely similar to etherdelta and forkdelta but upon checking it now the site wasn't working anymore.

Anyway, just use forkdelta instead and if you don't know whether your token is traded in the site, just copy the contract address and replace it on the xxxxxxxxxxxx

--- https://forkdelta.app/#!/trade/0xxxxxxxxxxxxxx-ETH

The Etherdelta is still active, but few participants and the difference between the purchase price and the selling price is quite high. Many Altcoin has no transactions during the day. It seems to be underutilized.

It cant be active if no trades have been made since February. Can you show me a trade that was made recently on EtherDelta? I dont think the exchange works at all. The live chat seems to be working but the site doesnt recognize when I am logged in to my Metamask account so there must be something seriously wrong with it.

now etherdelta is no longer good, you better don't trade at etherdelta, it's very dangerous and there are often problems that make traders lose a lot.

any reasons on why you said that ed is not good anymore ? i still use ed from time to time and my experience were still the same  , the site is still slow but im already used to it  .

once it loads for the first time , the site will run smoothly  but its not the speed that im after with , its the use  . ed does supports tons of alts and toks   . if there are problems that a trader will loose alot then thats not the sites fault but thats their ability to trade because they might doing the wrong thing  .

Look, the problem with these decentralized exchanges is that if the server running the platform does not work, then you cannot trade, simple. But the best thing about DEX that feature non custody is that if it does not work, your funds are still fine. Unless they were stuck midway in transaction,,, smart contract gone wrong,,, then I do not know:)

Etherdelta is moderate level exchange if you ask about this exchange to me!
If you want to list your token initially and look for the better exchange later means this will be better choice for ICO. But for the users they need to choose based upon the user base to find the high volume of trading. If there is volume there you can trade faster than other place. In that case Binance, bittrex and bitfinix are good in my point of view.

According the market when I checked their volume so far, it was actually not good and not safe to use in my opinion dude.
It is because, the volume in USD$ only was 21, 000$ something, then their active coins was only 9 altcoins and the rest of the
coins listed to their platform was also unverified, and its very difficult too to use an exchange that asking your private key before
you can able to trade to their site platform too.

Title: Re: Is Etherdelta still OK to use?
Post by: R.A.Y on August 13, 2019, 02:41:37 AM
still safe in my opinion but their trading chart is not in accordance with the volume, and the number of their daily transactions is very small, another obstacle is not in realtime conveying the results of the transaction so that prices still appear on the trading chart.

You mean to say there is something fishy going on to that platform. Meaning, your account there was being stole by someone which
was you clicked some phishing site, is that right? Honestly, I don't trust that exchange due to it is asking for private key before you can
able to use their platform to make some trade to their coin listed  there. Where any moment they can hack or steal the balance you have
import it to their platform.

Title: Re: Is Etherdelta still OK to use?

Etherdelta is still among the top best dex exchange right now,  it's safe to use,  don't share your private key,  don't click on phishing link if you avoid this you are good to go in as much as there is no hack from the whole exchange
But it seems there is no trading activity on that exchange at least for most of the coins, because when I visit their volume history where everything market as zero so better don't use it or you might end up waiting for months to get your trades done.

I am not using this DEX for several months, but I check it from time to time. It seems safe to use (as long as you use Metamask to access your wallets there), but the volume of trading is small, it looks like so many traders switched to other decentralized exchanges like Forkdelta, and Token store..

I haven't visited the site from exchange from etherdelta for a long time because this exchange is very quiet and the volume is very small and often I see orders that have been sold never updated, transaction costs are also high on the etherdelta market.

every trade a coin that includes a private key, you better have a new wallet specifically for trading, so our main wallet is much safer than every site that we do to trade, etherdelta is currently active but transactions are still rather slow
I was very far away with the exchange of etherdelta because it was very slow and lonely by trade, it is true that etherdelta asked privatkey for the entry key to trade is very risky in my opinion, afraid that the etherdelta site records our private key and hacks the coins we have.

Both interface are almost the same right, which the designer and owner was obviously one person only were their difference was the title of the platform. I honestly advise you not to use it due they can able to steal or hack your account. Because always remember that never give your private key to anyone that's the number one rules for being a good and wise trader.

Etherdelta seems to be the first ethereum based decentralized exchange and in 2017, when many of us came to know about the cryptocurrency I think it was one of the best places to sell tokens before they are listed in bigger and centralized exchange, it is true that the site is extremely slow and  I was discouraged not using it because of its slowness and volume. If you desire to trade your tokens from bounty I will advise you to use it but if it is for trading I will say you will be frustrated because of the volume.

The last time I used Etherdelta was a few months ago, and it was safe to use (just you have to access with Metamask and don't import your private keys). But the volume of trading there seems nowadays very low, and it is almost replaced by Forkdelta and many other decentralized exchanges.

My experience with ether delta. I like that we keep our crypto in our own wallets when trading and do direct trades through them using metamask. I feel much safer. However, since it has been out and I first saw it, it often lags, but very badly to the point, it becomes frustrating to use or indeed impossible. Waiting a few hours then trying again normally would work. It is annoying if you need to trade right away.

I was an etherdelta user a long time ago, but been months that I haven't used it to trade so I checked the current feedback from the users here if all are still ok with that exchange. Forkdelta and others might be the replacement of their services now as most of the listed coins has no trading activity anymore. One good thing here is that your funds are safe even if they suddenly disappear without you knowing they stopped their operations.

The old problems of DEX (low liquidity) comes back to haunt Etherdelta. Add to it that ERC20 tokens are losing their charm and people are now moving to TRON and EOS among others, and we get the same problems we need to overcome. That you can't simply create liquidity out of thin air. Without organic support for the tokens, you'll just end up at Step 1 all over again when the hype dies down.

Didnt see that erc20 token supporters switch to TRON and EOS platform. Any source to this one or links that proves it out?
Ive been a user of etherdelta back to those erc20 glory days on past years where this one do had high liquidity and been commonly used as a dex
and after that new Dex pops out like idex and the fork of this platform itself forkdelta but its already late yet im sure that
most people are now focusing with BTC.

I remember when my last time to use etherdelta to sell some of my tokens. I feel it's too confusing to use etherdelta because I don't know how to start after I transfer my token to that site. And the result of that is I get lost of my token, and I cannot recover the losses. And then I decide to move to the other dex site, and I choose to use idex.market and after that, I don't have any problem with that site. I see that some of us prefer to use etherdelta, but I think that it is too confusing for me.

Honestly, for me etherdelta is okay it is because most of the coins listed to this platform are not potential were majority has low volume.
But I can't deny this exchange has been here for a years now, still there are lot of traders continued using it even the coins are not good, I don't know the reason why? Besides, there are lot of coins out there still better than this one.

I used Etheredelta a long time ago, and it was safe to use but the liquidity is very low, and I see many traders are quitting it to many other DEX exchanges, so the volume of trading is also not high there.  But it is still a helpful platform to exchange the shitty ERC20 tokens which aren't listed in any other exchanges.
