Title: Lapps vs Dapps
Post by: Abiky on July 16, 2019, 05:01:27 PM
For those unaware, there are different forms of apps that interact with a Blockchain. We have Lapps (which are Lightning Apps) which interact on Bitcoin's Lightning Network for instant speeds and almost zero fees. On the other hand, we have Dapps (which are Decentralized Apps) that largely depend on the underlying cryptocurrency's smart contract capabilities and Blockchain capacity in order to perform or execute certain actions.

Comparing both Lapps and Dapps, they seem quite similar. The main advantages of Lapps are instant speeds and near-zero fees. But they're not as resilient as Dapps. While Dapps may be resilient and censorship-resistant, they lack the speed and low costs of Lapps.

Which is why, I wonder if Lapps are better than Dapps (or vice versa)? What are your thoughts about this? :)
