While many of the folks here are targeting Trump for putting out his negative stance about the Blockchain initiative and Bitcoins, I wholeheartedly appreciate his move. It might have led to a sudden decrease in the price but it will give a major boost to the global adoption of BTC that we are aiming for. The US presidents tweets are read and covered around the globe and there was quite a lot of media coverage given to the Blockchain and cryptocurrency community. Also, the entire Libra episode is also playing out, giving much more limelight to this space. While the reports and coverage are largely negative and critical but I believe that in due time people will start reading about it and will soon realize the benefits of a decentralized network. Negative press is better than no press.

Everyone here knows that Trump really doesn't care about Bitcoin, he was using Bitcoin as a means to attach Facebooks coin Libra -- he doesn't like Facebook, and wants to see them perish.

But yes, I will (and I think most in the crypto community) will agree that Trump did do us a service by showing millions of people out there BITCOIN (and other cryptos) -- that could be enough to get some people to check us out and maybe they'll like it.

It is the perspective of which you are seeing this answer that he gave.
Personally, I believe that he did a strong negative effect to bitcoin, even if he wanted to throw his negativity to Facebook and Libra.
The drop in the price that happened because of his tweet will take a lot of time to be reverted.

In the long run, the blockchain community is going to see the positive effects of the number one citizen of the world spoke about bitcoin. Though many of us are not happy about his comments I think it is a good thing we should know that this is the first time someone with that type of personality speaks about bitcoin and to me it makes adoptions easier than we think and it is good we appreciate him more than criticizing him.
