Oddly enough, DEXs is not needed much, and that is why it is possible to have problems in most of them. Freezing, slow working and more. If you are looking for DEX for altcoin trading, 20 DEXs are listed in this article. Check this out if you like : https://coinzodiac.com/top-decentralized-exchanges-dex/

The above mentioned decentralized exchange even have problems that is why people prefer centralised exchange more than decentralized one.

No, I think people prefer to wait until the platform is hacked, a fake CEO death or a jurisdiction closing the site, to be able to lose their coins properly. </sarcasm>... But regarding your point, I disagree. Statically decentralized exchanges have, by far, fewer problems than the centralized. Whatever if it's about the user account, IT security, etc...

How many DEXs have been hacked so far? And how many CEXs?

"Some" people maybe.

I've used a lot of DEXes. In no particular order, I've used FD, ED, DDEX, IDEX, Bancor, Atomic Swap, and so on. The best DEX is probably relatives as it depends on what coins that you want to trade (either buy or sell). For example, you won't find many alternatives if you only want to trade Stellar tokens.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure Binance Dex is probably going to dominate the market too. Binance power is too big atm.

When it comes to DEX then i do only make use of https://bisq.network/
I do only use forkdelta or idex when dealing with erc20 tokens but overall or most of the time
Im sticking with Bisq.

The above mentioned decentralized exchange even have problems that is why people prefer centralised exchange more than decentralized one.

Apart from converting BTC to ETH/XMR I have never used any centralized exchanges to be quite true. I hate using centralized exchanges, with exchanges handling our coins. The purpose of cryptocurrency is to be your own bank and not to trust third parties with your money. Holding funds in a centralized exchange (be it Mt.Gox or Binance) is much riskier than holding them in a decentralized one. Once when we transfer the coins to exchange, it gets transferred to their cold wallets and so on. We don't have control over our coins and if the exchange gets hacked all of a sudden just like Cryptopia, we would reach the nightmare with our money.

The only problem in using a decentralized exchange is that, if the server gets hacked and the real website is phished we would be entering our private keys in a phishing web-page which will certainly result in loss of funds. I use Forkdelta, Etherdelta and IDEX more commonly to trade some alts with my Ethereum. More importantly you don't need to provide KYC if you are transferring lump-sum amount of money in a single transaction. What if the KYC server gets hacked and all your personal information gets into the hands of hackers? If you need to be anonymous and concerned about your privacy more then you wouldn't be using centralized exchanges.

For example, you won't find many alternatives if you only want to trade Stellar tokens.
We can try using https://stellarterm.com/#markets (not quite sure)

Anyway, I'm pretty sure Binance Dex is probably going to dominate the market too. Binance power is too big atm.

Binance is becoming a powerful centralized entity in the cryptocurrency space be it the CZ's idea on reversal of transactions or the introduction of a decentralized exchange.  ::)

That's a very subjective question, and could be better put as what is YOUR best decentralized exchange in the cryptocurrency world.
People have different reasons for visiting different exchanges. I personally prefer to use forkdelta irrespective of the hitches in the system it has specific features which I desire.

Binance is one the best exchange I've ever use. They are now running DEX(decentralized exchange) known as Binance DEX. I think it's worth a try although I didn't tried it before but if I were to choose what kind of exchange I wanna use, I prefer centralized exchange. It's because most of the altcoins listed to centralized exchange are good and you are confident that it's safe. IDEX and Ethereally sucks tho. There's so many unknown tokens listed.

We could say that Binance did well and the others are not which is the things that might catch some attention to traders.
Well, Binance almost perfectly made its steps in crypto, even though they've been hacked but then, they easily manage to recover from such big loss. It is a big consideration that this exchange could run smoothly even they encounter problems in the future and it never gives worries to their clients.

I will never deny that decentralized exchanges are for better than the security when compared to the centralised exchanges but when we are in hurry of doing trading it is not possible to trade with decentralized exchange that is why many people prefer centralised exchanges even if they know that hacks are possible but the wise people will never store any funds in centralised or decentralized exchanges.

Depends on what you mean by decentralized exchanges and what you want from them.
There are real decentralized exchanges and there are semi-decentralized exchange.
The real and semi-decentralized ones can be found here:

We cannot deny that Binance is the world's largest crypto exchange and it has launched Binance Dex which is a decentralized exchange platform. I guess with that reputation that Binance has, Binance Dex will not be different from Binance. Let is give it a try. I think the team behind it is competitive enough to resolve any technical problems that may occur in the future.

I am also using Binance Dex for most of my decentralized transactions because of the prestige Binance gives to cryptocurrency market is too big. I have a good experience when doing transactions on Binance Dex, it brings a sense of security and quick processing of transactions.

Personally, I have used those two exchange and I didn't have any issues. But I wouldn't say they are the best, actually it is 'subjective', I mean there are thousands if not millions of traders across the world and their opinion will vary depending on several factors. So for me there's no such thing as best here, it's really up to the individual's user experience.

I can tell you other exchanges, but what if didn't fit your need?

The best decentralized exchange at the moment is IDEX. They have the fastest interface in comparison with other decentralized exchanges and a large volume of trading. And although they introduce mandatory user verification (KYC), they still remain the best decentralized exchange in my opinion.

So far Idex and coinexchange are good, but the most frequently that I used was Idex although, just a days past they implement KYC to their
client users to their platform. And one more things Stellar was also a good DEX to use in crypto world too.

^ This decentralized exchange is quite good before but now DEX as what I had heard they are implementing a KYC(looking some proof but I can't find, I saw it here in the forum), in short, they are not decentralized anymore disregard to their name of the exchange. Binance dex as of now considering to me as the best dex exchange because I am a small trader which is fit the minimum amount allow Binance did not pass KYC.

Right now everyone talking Binance DEX, Of course Binance DEX will win becauset they already have a Image top rank 1 exchange. Im just only used forkdelta & Idex for right now. Decentralized exchange not really populer because its really dificult to use for new cormer than centralized exchange.

What is the criteria of being the best decentralized exchange?

I can hardly call IDEX as a decentralized exchange now that they will be enforcing KYC from its users.
The others who claim to be decentralized exchanges would require you to pay for listing fees also unlike etherdelta and forkdelta where you can list and trade via smart contract.

until now I only use Forkdelta, Etherdelta and sometimes IDEX, and in my opinion, Forkdelta is the best Decentralized exchange because since the first time I knew the cryptocurrency that I used as a place of exchange only Forkdelta... poor me :D , and new people entering cryptocurrencies understand faster using Forkdelta  ;D

Well, that is still the most popular decentralized exchanges, but I would not say they are best because they are still faced with the challenges of volume and not being able to meet up with ones trade in time. I think that now that Binance has already released its own DEX, it will really be the best, as we know that Binance has always done its own things with perfection, which I think that this DEX being released by them will really have all it takes to successfully use a DEX exchange.

One of the benefits of BinanceDEX exchange would be volume, Binance is already popular and has thousands of user’s whom has been interested in DEX, but had no choice than to stick with centralized exchange since there has not been any encouraging one, majority of these people will surely migrate to Binance DEX.

When you say decentralized are speaking specifically about just Ethereum decentralized exchanges or decentralized exchanges as a whole. Well since Ethereum Dex is more popular I guess it's want you're asking about so for me I make use IDEX and feel they're really the best, tried using others but the users interface weren't appealing especially my very first Dex which was Etherdelta followed by ForkDelta after server want down.
Try to be specific next time because the market has evolved, we now have more decentralized exchanges not just bases on the Ethereum blockchain but we have those operating on NEO, EOS, Wave etc.

Firstly thanks to all who have tried to help me by sharing experience about the decentralized exchange. Anyway, after reading all the replies here I see that most of the people are familiar with Forkdelta and IDEX decentralized exchange. And some people are trying to use Binance dex exchange.

Its forkdelta for ETH tokens. Bitshares is something else/.

Zero trading fee Decentralized exchange is a dream but here comes TRX market (https://trx.market/), I guess those who are into TRON dapps are the ones who normally sees this exchange. I'm not sure about until when can the exchange have zero trading fees though but probably if TRX will be worth $1, they may start asking but that would take years.

All my experience in cryptocurrency trading, I have never really used a dex exchange, it has been centralized exchange all the way because I have always had this mentality that you can’t get volume to execute your trade in DEX, and in the centralized exchange, we all know that most people give it to Binance exchange, but I have been hearing about this DEX a lot everywhere and I think I will have to check it out myself too, but this issue of KYC they now introduced is going to be the little issue here.

I don’t so much get why a dex exchange should ask for KYC in the first place, but I guess they have their reasons for that, if they are trusted exchange, I don’t think people should have much problem with the KYC then. The dex exchange I am waiting to see its outcome is that of Binance.

The fact is that there are quite a lot of decentralized exchanges on the cryptocurrency market, but all of them do not have a sufficient rating so that most use their services.  You talked about Fork Delta, but you can also use IDEX.  But there are very few trading pairs and the presence of a general list of coins after listing.
