Title: Need some creative ideas!
Post by: Aero Blue on July 20, 2019, 03:04:41 PM
Have some Bitcoin / Crypto related domain names. I plan to probably turn one of them into my next project to focus on. Only problem is, I'm not the most creative person and I figured someone could help me out on here. Would love to hear your thoughts, and any visions or ideas you have for any of these websites.

BitcoinTX: I would say that a website to watch the mempool, estimate the fees and also accelerate transactions would be a great idea.
CryptoGear: A website to sell merch related to crypto.
BitcoinOptimist: Sounds suitable for running a blog.
BitcoinExplode: Maybe for charts, sending alerts depending on the price changes or something similar.

Wow, thanks a ton for the ideas! I just couldn't think of anything and now it seems kind of obvious... I knew these domains had potential, do you have any advice for starting a website like this? I have some experience in web development, but I figure you might have some idea on where to start in the crypto world?

Just going to add to these with my "ideas":

CryptoInforms.com: Cryptocurrency related guides, similar to https://coindesk.com/information
CryptoCanteen.com: Sort of like Uber Eats but people would pay with crypto instead? or a site that you can order groceries
YoBtc.net: I personally don't like this. It sounds like a YoBit ripoff
BtcDiva.com: A bitcoin porn site or a "live cams" site

It sounds like some one has taken the CryptoGear idea by creating this: https://cryptogear.io/. However, it's not about who goes first, but who does better. There're numerous ideas to come up with but the best is not always the fanciest one, it's the one you can optimize with your current resources.

Pushing my creativity a little bit and I got these ideas, hope they'll help you somehow:

Coindictionary: Like the name suggests, the main content should be detailed information about famous coins (top 100 marketcap for example). Each coin has its own website and all information is listed there, but finding various coins' information at one place will be so convenient for newbies and even oldbies.
Cryptopedia: It may resemble the dead exchange Cryptopia but Cryptopedia is intended to be a Wikipedia of cryptocurrencies. You can find everything about crypto there.
Cryptogram: Where people can share their photos, funny pictures or videos which are related to crypto. Crypto advertisers will find it a more efficient place to put their campaigns than Instagram or Youtube.

I'm not sure what exactly you mean with "where to start in the crypto world", but if you think where to promote your future site, this forum should be good start. But for any serious result you should invest some money in quality SEO, and make good site with quality content. Since you have few domains, you should check which one would be best for ranking based on keywords you will use.

You get nice suggestions from OmegaStarScream&mjglqw&Mastery, and based on that it would be wise to check what is the competition for each proposed idea, and can you compete with an existing sites.

If we take for example coinmarketcap which is most popular site for all possible crypto data, to make something better then that is a rather difficult task, and despite all attempts of others to make similar sites, CMC is still number one.

You can pick one domain, and maybe sold others to get some extra money for your project.

Are all these domain names available ? I see a few of domain name showing is it owned by "Aero Blue". Maybe you have already bought these domain names ?
All of these names are good. If your project is a good one, it will become popular, regardless of the domain name.

If you want to build something that will generate profit for you, then hiring someone to do it for you in a professional way is best. You can find some developers in the Service  (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0)section otherwise, you could seek some platforms like Upwork.

BitcoinTX.net    -   Great name for a Block explorer / mining pool.
BitcoinOptimist.com -  Would work very well as a news outlet or price analysis site.
CryptoGear.net -  Good name for crypto hardware sales
BtcExplode.com -  This could be good as a price alert site (say bitcoin starts to pump this site could send alerts to people when bitcoin explodes alerts go out)
CryptoInforms.com -  Not sure about this one possible it may be good to put regulation information here for people interested in starting crypto company.
BtcDiva.com - A site just for the ladies out there make it pink put some cute coins there and trinkets for sale it might do very well.

They are all fine domain names, and they tell different messages. I would try to explain in the simplest way possible.

BitcoinTX.net - trading website
BitcoinOptimist.com - bitcoin blog
CryptoGear.net - crypto blog
BtcExplode.com - crypto project
CryptoInforms.com - educative crypto blog
CryptoCanteen.com - e-commerce website
YoBtc.net - personal blog
BtcDiva.com - possibly sex related

So it depends on what you want, whether trading website, a blog, an e-commerce website, or a sex blog. It is easy the monetise any of them; either through Ads or subscriptions.

My favourite would be CryptoGear - it has the flare and not limited to bitcoin only, but appealing to the cryptoverse in general.

I don't really like any of them. CryptoOptimist could be used for a trading blog, and I think that is probably the best. The others aren't really English phrases, and this could create some difficulties.

MaskedCrypto.com has just dropped, and maybe that could be used for privacy discussions. BlogDuCrypto.com has 99 back links, but I didn't check to see if they were any good.

I was asking for ideas on current domains, not suggestions for new ones. I think you are missing the point behind domain names, brand-ability being my top priority. The "trading blog" idea has already been suggested 3-4 times on this thread and using "english phrases" for a new domain are a terrible idea SEO wise, good luck getting your domain within the top 10k search results.
