You had a number of them in the past like Robert Bruce and you still couldn't exit. I don't know what to tell you. Maybe you should cooperate with the Irish and leave together ::) Exiting won't take you out of the British influence. Even if it happens it will be a "fakexit" like when some of the members of the Soviet Union became independent and still served as a training ground for the Russian army.
