NEW TO CRYPTO CURRENCIES
Step 1 - Download the YAM Coin wallet, available for Windows https://www.yam.exchange/photo/upload/yamcoin/yam-qt-windows.zip (https://www.yam.exchange/photo/upload/yamcoin/yam-qt-windows.zip) and Linux https://www.yam.exchange/photo/upload/yamcoin/yam-qt-linux.tar.gz (https://www.yam.exchange/photo/upload/yamcoin/yam-qt-linux.tar.gz)

Step 2 - Unzip the files and install on your PC. We recommend you create a new folder. Maybe call it YAM

Don't worry you can keep your anti-virus program running throughout the installation process.

You will see 3 files in the installation (YAM) folder.  Find the file called yam-qt.exe and create a desktop shortcut to it. This is your YAM Coin 'Wallet'

Step 3 - Double click on your shortcut to start the program, open your wallet and synchronize for the first time.

Synchronization will take a few minutes and you can monitor the progress in the window bottom righthand corner.

Step 4 - Click the Receive button and Request Payment - This will display a unique Wallet Address for you.

Step 5 - Send an email with your unique payment address to admin@yam.exchange to get 200 free coins.

Step 6 - Register on YAM.exchange to get the additional 1000 free coins.

There are plenty of videos online about how to use a Cryptocoin Wallet, and how to send and receive coins.

Hi - We had data center power issues this afternoon, but everything is back online now

Did you open up first and then close down the wallet?  Are your config files all correct with the nodes added etc ?  Follow the instructions on this page and all SHOULD be good ....

The server is up and available...  As an FYI - I just tested and set up a new PC and it works ok...  

I also changed the node IP address to the DNS name....

Use the following instructions to mine a block.

Open your wallet, and make sure your wallet is connected and has finished synchronizing.
Your wallet is connected when you see the icon Wallet connections in the lower right corner of your wallet.

The message “Syncing Headers (0,0%)” will disappear once you have finished synchronizing.

Now close your wallet, and open Windows Notepad. Paste the below text into the file

If you want to act as a node on a windows server please include the below extra line in your file between server=1 and add node lines.

and save it as yam.conf in the folder “%APPDATA%\yam\”

Hi - Thanks for taking an interest in YAM - We're still working on the roadmap, but basically the www.yam.exchange (http://www.yam.exchange) website is up and running (few improvements still to go) with the Android chat app and payments released in 3 weeks. 

Please feel free to add YAM to your pool. 

The goal is to allow small businesses owners, individual sellers and customers to not only promote their businesses on YAM.exchange , but also to make and take payments in YAM.  Of course sellers can take payments for goods direct any way they like, and CC payments via Stripe as our payments processor will be online next month.   

YAM traded for other crypto and redemption for fiat is coming by end of 2019 - we're waiting for the final paperwork from regulators.

I'll ensure there is a roadmap page and more information on the website this week.

I added the addnode as mentionned above, but it wont find any peers to synchronize and download the core

Did you manage to connect ?  We've been monitoring the nodes and there are active connections mining and 20+ synced wallets.

Is you yam.conf in the correct appdata folder.

Hi Brad - Thought as the founder of YAM.exchange I would reply to your comments - Best you get it from the horses mouth.

The coin and YAM.exchange are as legit as the community make it I suppose.  We have already blacklisted a couple of users who tried to take down the networks and site.  

We're not endorsing any pools at the moment, but as a vote of confidence I have thrown my PC and a few ASIC USB sticks and Raspberry Pi miners on the pool - so I'll let you all know how it goes.  AND A BIG THANK YOU TO YaKorshun for trying to help out anyway - but enabling Autopayout would build some confidence !!!!

Now moving on to YAM.exchange and the coin itself, it's as legit as we can make it.  

YAM coin is devised to be used within YAM.exchange to buy goods and services from us, and eventually as a form of exchange between businesses and their customers.

YAM.exchange is primarily designed to be a B2B2C website marketplace (and Android Chat and Payments App in 3 weeks) that lets small and sole proprietor businesses register, promote, buy/sell or rent anything LEGAL - From Accommodation, New Bands and Music, Restaurants, Tech startups, Taxi Services (Even Crypto) to Auto mechanics, Beauticians, Dentists or Plumbers, Electricians and General contractors.  A Google MyBusiness profile has such poor functionality and people are getting fed up with being tracked by Facebook and Search Engines, we saw a niche for a service where businesses and customers are not tracked or advertised to.  We DON'T track users or use machine learning - Our search is a simple SQL statement.  We don't take a commission on sales or charge fees.    

We will keep the servers and nodes up and running to support the YAM coin and website/app customers, and won't take or need external finance or investors - As, and If the coin grows in popularity and usage we will put more any resources behind it as needed.  

On a personal note I've been involved in BTC and LTC since 2005 and have seen coins come and go..  I still have 500K of the defunct infinite coin and some Maza, along with numerous other alt coins that have all collapsed and lost BTC when Gox went down - so understand peoples reluctance to mine a new coin.

The team and I will put everything we have in to making YAM.exchange and YAM Coin work for everybody - particularly small businesses and their customers.  We are based in a jurisdiction where Crypto is legal, encouraged and supported by government regulation so making the coin fully "KYC" compliant and able to be exchanged for FIAT is on the radar.

We're looking for others to join and help manage a community of YAM enthusiasts if you're ever interested or know someone who is :-)

@ lembang - The image you sent looks correct - The basic miner.bat file shows nothing until you find a block and when it does, it will then display on the screen  -  If you are using ASIC's  you will need software like CGMINER or BFGMINER and use the stratum details.

As we have had a good uptake of people registering on YAM.exchange or emailing us for free coins - and because we DIDN'T pre-mine millions of YAM like most startups, we will be changing the registration offers each week, and adding in extra incentives like mugs, t-shirts or teddy bears and dinosaurs - just to keep it exciting and different.  

Just a heads up - We're having Firewall issues or someone not nice is trying to do something bad...  Come on guys .... Give us noobs a break and let us build a coin in peace please.   Will keep you updated..  We're staying up late and the coffee is on.

After a night of work and support calls we are back online - as an FYI it wasn't us...  Somewhere in the DC there was a hardware failure and the fail-over didn't come online as expected....  Please let us know if you are still getting issues, but we can see people coming back online and mining.

We've been paying out to everyone who emailed us or registered ... and all was going well, but last 24 hours the pool mining seems to have been screwing with the chain confirmations....  Would be interested to see who else has been mining and running nodes....  Leave a message if you are having issues.
