I see many users talking about how USA government and Trump declared a war against Bitcoin! No, they didn't. Listen their message again! They declared a war against the criminals who are using bitcoin for illegal activities. A huge difference! This will be a good thing in the longterm. So stop spreading this fud cuz of wrong interpretation. Many big players already know that dollar is dying. They know that dollar can't survive for a long time. As the dollar collapses in the near or middterm future, bitcoin will rise and rise enormously. They know that. They also know that the trigger for all of this could be the next major financial crisis where a lot of funds will go to gold and bitcoin. But because bitcoin is a low marketcap compared to gold, it will rise much more than gold. They know that and they will try to regulate it but they cannot stop it. They (USA Congress) already admited that bitcoin is unstoppable. No one can stop it. If you can't win them, join them. So eventually everyone will join bitcoin in the future.

I can agree that people in crypto are easily triggered and by default declare governments and banks to be an enemy, and that while they have no clue about why they dislike them other than following the herd that has no clue either.

Governments for a long time ignored Bitcoin because they thought it would implode and lose all its value, but a decade later it's still here. I got the feeling that because of Libra they have started to take Bitcoin more serious.

As far as stopping the fud goes, it's impossible to do with how there are entire armies of bots automatically sharing news. News outlets wont stop with fud articles either because they attract a lot of clicks and therefore an important income stream.

Just ignore them! It is their habits and unable to stop, guys.
FUDs are always there. As long as Bitcoin has value, they will make more FUDs to take advantages from careless Bitcoin holders. 
We have already seen many negative issues as well and all of them will end after several weeks or months.

There's a big difference by reading only the title than to the whole article, people just don't know how to read maybe or really have no time to understand the article but have more time to create FUD in cryptomarket. We should keep telling people not to panic, and educate them as much as possible for us to see a better market.

Op, you are right that they didn't declare war against Bitcoin, but not for the reasons that you've mentioned (collapse of the US dollar and so on). We simply had some tweets of POTUS, which is like just his opinion, or more likely opinion of his advisors or someone from the government, there was no action yet. I admit, it's a bit worrying, but indeed, let's not spread FUD.


I don't think Libra is solely responsible for regulatory attention  that we are getting now, it started long ago - the SEC was taking action against multiple ICO's, Japan was issuing licenses to exchanges, China had a long history of statements and rumors about it and Bitcoin, some countries have banned it in the past.

They are imposing tax laws. Why would anybody be surprised that the IRS is sending Bitcoin and shitcoin traders letters about it? The IRS has the means to get the data out of pretty much any exchange out there, perhaps except the most outlandish ones that don't accept any fiat, but that's about it. As soon as you make a transaction into an exchange you better declare that shit.


They are most likely doing that OTC. They buy OTC to not push the price up, and they can proceed to dump, or the opposite if they want to manipulate the price up. This is limited in time tho, on the long term hard money always wins. They know this, so they can either try to kill Bitcoin, or attempt to accumulate as much as possible, and im sure phase 2 has begin because if they wanted to kill it the would have done it years ago when it was actually realistic. In other words: HODL.

I think this is funny.

We should not care about them since the people that would believe them would be really destroyed when they told people that knows everything that is happening. Also, most of that person posting about that war doesn't actually read the OP so, I don't think we should be worried.

There might really be no war at all, or there could be. I couldn't care less, anyway. So what if there is a war? The result is pretty much clear as early as now.

The point is that remarks such as Bitcoin's value is based on thin air or that it is a perfect tool for crimes. Not to mention the IRS ganging up on cryptocurrency owners for supposedly unpaid taxes, the treasury secretary issuing dire warning against the future of Bitcoin. These statements and actions are interpreted by a lot of Bitcoin or cryptocurrency supporters to be a subtle declaration of war.

We are not worried because we know cryptocurrency already, the main purpose of that FUD is to make panic especially on newbies and by that it can lose millions of money. We know US are so supportive but I don't know why there's so much FUD about this war against bitcoin. Anyway, no matter what they've said bitcoin will still go up high and that's the choice of many believers.

Yes, a little misunderstanding will surely give a different meaning. Though you cannot blame someone that are spreading the fud as they have also an objectives, either they were being paid by someone to spread the fud in order to collapse the price of bitcoin so they can buy it in very low prices.

Learn some of the previous fud that has been created and all have the purpose of making careless people sell it at cheap prices, they will buy it at cheap prices in large quantities so that it gives the impact of a significant increase in an instant

actually the "war" against bitcoin has been going on for nearly as long as it existed it just grows in size and cost the bigger bitcoin gets. of course the market participants who want cheaper prices have always used it as an excuse to exaggerate and turn it into FUD and make a bigger profit but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
as for the US government and their war, the recent chatter seems more like a war against Facebook and their Libra rather than bitcoin. they don't want to let this company become a bank this easily and out of their control.

i think the fud on btc is getting more worse in recent times than back in the early stage, nowadays people just fud over every little thing, too many misconception about btc out there, any newbie who invest on something he/she don't understand properly and loss money will create unnecessary fud, government trying by any means to create fud, make people loss interest on btc, in the midst of all this war and fud, btc still manage to survive.

There is some truth to this post, but you will also need to believe some things other people say.

If the government and authorities really did want to stop money laundering and a lot of other illegal activities, they'd put more time into finding unmarked bills, because at this point the most popular payment option for money laundering and dark world services is still not BTC.

I also do not think that the government has a lot of BTC stashed and they are looking to centralize the currency. This is very apparent when they sold off most of the BTC they got from the silk road, which they all auctioned off. Just think about it logically - why would they do that if their goal was to centralize the supply?

The government is okay with bills with 10 year jail term drafted for people holding bitcoins , whereas can show number of cases with people just sentenced jail term for 7 year for Rape.

The statement from Trump was just a common news, but that was taken much into discussion as it has got some statements related to the bitcoin usage. It was clearly a plan to eliminate the use of bitcoin for illegal needs which in comparison to the fiat usage on the same is very minimal. Same has got interpreted as a way to manipulate the market trend. Hope cryptocurrency users understand the right thing.

Every government is coming to realization on what Bitcoin can become. Back in 2017 we had politicians talking about how a possible Bitcoin dive in price could actually start a new recession.

There are people that are afraid of the future power and growth of Bitcoin and they will try to "tame" it and make it as centralized as they can to achieve their goals.

The problem for them, is that if they succeed in centralizing it, they will instantly fail to use it as it will become obsolete. So all their effort would be just to destroy Bitcoin. And after that, another technology will appear that would be even better and harder to regulate and take over. Remember the file-sharing websites in 2000 and the war against them? They shut-down most of them only for p2p technology and torrent sites to appear.

Having a personal opinion about the concept of Bitcoin doesn't necessarily implies that war was declared on it. Even the States law markers are active traders/investors in blockchain projects. People generally use such posts to ensure that weak hands dump cheaper all in the name of fear been circulated.

The "war" against Bitcoin comes from the people who don't have the wit or the application to understand it. It isn't the government or the banks.

Regarding using the IRS to reshuffle old tax payments, isn't there a 3-year limit within which they can do that? Or it depends on the kind of income and the reason for rechecking, like money laundering or whatever? For example, in Russia any income not taxed within 3 years basically becomes tax-exempt due to the tax limitation period

Some people can't take criticism. These people think that every criticism is a declaration of war against them. Wake up. We cannot improve without any criticism. Bitcoin needs some regulation in order to move forward. That is not war. It is just a bitter pill to make things better.

I think what many crypto investors do not understand that Trump words on Bitcoin is more like his 'opinion,' which everyone is actually entitled to theirs. Thus, it has no direct threats. it's just in people's nature to find faults in everything.

maybe in my opinion there is also truth in your statement because we know that nothing can stop bitcoin because bitcoin is not owned by a private organization let alone the American government wants to stop bitcoin which is only a useless idea for the US Government to stop bitcoin especially now the popularity of bitcoin is very popular with young people and many others who want to use bitcoin as an easy transaction for them now.

As far as what I know, there's no war at all, they're just warning everyone to be cautious since a lot of criminals and illegal activities were also engaged in crypto and using it for illegal transactions. Even if they don't like crypto and bitcoin at all, it will be hard for them to stop every citizen of US from using crypto. They already knew how popular bitcoin is... And I don't even see USA would do that.

I read that Bangladesh is to harsh on Bitcoin and so is India, so there is a war against Bitcoin, in some region, but we all know the government is subjective and the government is subject to change, the battle can be won when people pick the right people to govern them.
At this point in time, any group, company or government will have a hard time restricting Bitcoin users at this point of time because Bitcoin now has the upper hand.

The U.S. is known to have a war against everything.  There's the war on crime, war on drugs, the old war on AIDS, blah blah blah.  What the states are not at war with is bitcoin.  Heck, we have Coinbase which is one of the most legitimate bitcoin exchanges known to man.  Poloniex is also U.S. based, and both have no problem passing mustard with anyone in the gov't.

If the gov't here wanted to end bitcoin there would be laws on the books prohibiting it, and that could be done very easily with a campaign in the media telling everyone how bitcoin is used for dark web shit and all that.  It has not happened and I don't believe it ever will.

Sure, everything needs to be framed in context, and the Indian "war" against bitcoin comes only from certain quarters. It will not be successful. Not least because it is one of many money wars the state has been waging for decades to preserve the old and keep out the new. Status quo benefits people in power, but Bitcoin, unlike anything that's come before it, cannot have the will of the few exerted upon it.

There is no upper hand. There simply is no hand when you want to go up against Bitcoin.

Well, not all the time, fud is the reason why Bitcoin is getting popularity, well, if the fud is positive, that is the time it can induce good influence to bitcoin. But if not, it will just stain the name of bitcoin so, just keep this in mind, nations are now reaching their global competency towards cryptocurrency. The race right now is what country will fully adopt the bitcoin and altcoins as it is the tool for success and stability.

When the use of bitcoin has been made a regulation by the government, from there the government will regulate it so that it does not disrupt the economy and even financial stabilization. If the government wants to fight bitcoin, then I think that's a stupid thing. They can make bitcoin a commodity in the futures market and it will not interfere. If the US government is in war against everything then I think maybe this war would be pretty hard to win for them. Because deregulating bitcoin is one thing and stopping Bitcoin is absolutely another. Donald Trump never declared war against bitcoin, he only said he wasn't a fan of bitcoin. As a president who doubles as the protector of the USD, he can only defend the USD against any possible perceived rival currency for noe even though he knows the truth.

Bitcoin value back then and till  now is still a penny worth to US government total  worth so they don't really bother selling those.

I do not think that there is any war against Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. Yes, some regulations in the financial world appear or change from time to time in every country. But in case there was a war against crypto, believe me, it will not exist so long time. It will disappear in half of a year or so. And big men from the big world of politic they really have such mechanisms how to organise such things. Everyone understand this. But what about fud - you know fud existed and will exist till the last man on the planet will be dead))))) it is a thing that is living for so many centuries, even not years. It is a pity, but it's the integral part of the human nature.
