Title: KYC for BTC to revert redtrust ?
Post by: 5thFear on July 28, 2019, 09:33:50 PM
Hi,

I am having a negative trust for some reasons and that is why i am looking for ways to get it back to normal.
I mean if a negative trust is because of multiple accounts then isn't it a good idea to get KYC to revert it back to normal ? Just suggesting.

KYC for what. The Bitcointalk community does not require any sort of KYC.
Having multiple accounts is not prohibited here by the way but cheating in bounties but participating using you multiple accounts can get you red trusted.

Can you explain why you used multiple accounts in bounties?

You can't remove your negative trust until all of your multiple accounts got banned and you will be only having one normal account. As far as i know, even you will be doing KYC verification and that's impossible to remove your negative trust without solving the problem with a person that gives you negative trust.

I don't agree with the KYC Bitcointalk account, it's very dangerous if this is done.
This forum will be increasingly quiet because everyone does not want to do KYC. this violates the principle of freedom.

Wrong. Who said to you that getting your other accounts gets banned you'll end up having a normal account and red trust will be revert? That's for sure ban evasion in the case. Having multiple accounts isn't prohibited by the forum and you are permitted even if you have millions of it but having an issue of joining on the same campaign and sending merits between your alts that's where prohibition comes.

One more thing, trust in this forum isn't moderated too.

You can just ask the one that gave you to remove the red trust, but based on the feed back, you cheated so I think you will wear that tag forever, unless the one that gave you will be out of the DT network or system.

How will KYC prove that you are not owner of both accounts?

The easiest way to prevent your account from red trust is to avoid all sorts of cheatings. No merit-trading between your alts, no trust-abuse between your alts, no bounty abuse with your alts etc.. Sounds easy and is easy.

KYC wouldn't solve the issue. Most of the bounty abusers would ask a friend to do the KYC and we would have two different "owners" of the accused accounts. Works also fine with many more friends and alt accounts => KYC doesn't prove anything.

And just imagine how some scammers would applaud to find a new business model to sell stolen / hacked KYC data for Bitcointalk accounts. Sounds great...

And why should we putting users at risk of getting their personal data stolen when they are uploading the data for KYC here, Bitcointalk was hacked several times... That's an anonymous forum and one of the biggest reasons to use it. If you want to spread your data all over the web, use facebook. They are planning to launch their own shitcoin btw.  ;)
Looks like bounty hunters are desperately looking for worthless shitcoins, doing every KYC to get some but aren't realising how important it is to protect the own privacy...
