Title: @theymos, can you drop some stats when you have time?
Post by: TheBeardedBaby on July 30, 2019, 11:45:10 AM
Following this thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5058163) you can see people wondering how the situation with the spam reporting is going.
You haven't post any stats for more than a year now and it will be cool for many to see how is the "competition".
We already put the stick in the wheel of the spammers, and it was good, now we deserve some overview of what we did, right?
The report badges was a really good prank you pulled at the right time ;) we hope to see that it wasn't a prank but.. I know it takes time ;)

Let it be anonymous, just give us the numbers of those between 1 and 300 reports, those with reports from 300 to 1000, from 1000 to 2000, 2k to 3k, 3k to 5k and above 5k, or something like this.

P.S. Still on vacation so i'm taking a beer for all of you out there working and reporting ;)

Lol, this made me laugh out, make it snappy already,so spammers don't start having field days.

When it comes to implementing or changing policies on the forum, theymos is anything but fast and we've seen that already on numerous occasions, and I wouldn't think it counts as a disadvantage, as its down to taking time to make sure everything is set before implementation.
The report badge would definitely come and the good thing is it wouldn't stop users from reporting; instead it'll spur them to do more, to see who takes the lead when it pops out ;D

I guess that wouldn't be a prank in a sense and probably the badges will be available on the new forum too. With or without badge the moderators know who are those that do reporting. But if it will be implemented I am excited where on the profile section it will be placed or what is the design of it.

Time for us to flex with these dank badges?

Oh yeah, that new forum software....I've been hearing about it since about 2015 or so.  lol

I second iasenko.  I don't think I'm one of the top reporters anymore (I think I was for one of the months that was reported last year), but it'd be nice to see the statistics anyway--anonymous numbers are nice, but I'd really like to see the list as it appeared before.  I'm pretty sure there are at least a handful of members who've been doing a ton of reporting in the past couple of months and they should get props for that.

Hell, I just had a post deleted by a mod but I think that was because it included a quote from a post that was deleted as well.  My post was certainly on-topic and fairly constructive.  The one that I quoted was kind of meh.

Time for us to flex with these dank badges?
I think I've got 4000 good reports or so, but that's over the course of my entire registration period beginning in March 2015.  Not sure what kind of badge that would get me, but I'm all for good reporters getting recognition.  Spam would be so much worse if people didn't report shitposts.

I know 3 of the " >5000: 8 " and would be nice to know who are the other 5 .

Guess if some Users can together do a fine tune or share there how they reporting would have more effect as it already has .

Thanks to all the reporters in the whole stats list

Thanks theymos for the stats .  ;D

@theymos, Thank you for the stats :)
Finally we have overview, can we have an own private board as the VIP one with restricted access based on good reports? Of course signature free. :)

I have reported 37 posts with 89% accuracy
and I think I m a good member with good report stats but over 5k in one-year, that's just surprising me

check out a tool in thread [HACK] One-click mod report, not for the faint of heart (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5103488.0)
that should help you automate the reporting process,
the tool makes it easier and faster when you need to report multi spam posts ;)
but you still need to "hunt" ;D for spam posts manually by yourself

Why? I don't see a specific need for it, not gonna lie. There are only 72 users who have 500+ reports, and for all we know at least a quarter of them won't even be active. Its time for stop asking for new boards but rather consider moving to the new forum since the software is ready, kind of at least. Its 2019, gay people are being accepted in the society, come now,the community deserves a new forum.

Counts of members with good reports in the last year:

[...]

I first thought the numbers were for the forum's entire history, but if that's just for last year, what are the total numbers?

If anyone's interested, here are all time top50 reporters' lists:

as of 2016/07/01:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1532365.msg15429237#msg15429237

as of 2017/09/12:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2166379.msg21740582#msg21740582

Actually, comparing with previous numbers it looks like new numbers could be for total report counts as of 2018/12/31.

edit: 2nd link fixed

As I understand this is the report stats only for the past year for the whole forum including the local sections.

Both links are the same and this one provided is for the 2016/07/01 stats to be clear. You need to change the second one. I hope this will help.

Bumping this one with a request to theymos to drop the stats for the past year, when he has the time for it of course.
Is it possible to have a link to this statistics in the report history page also for the past years, so everyone can see how we are doing?

I think I'll be one the good citizens somewhere in between 200-400... AFAIK I have reported 200+... an insane number compared to the others who has 1000+ Good Reports for the whole year. Maybe I'll do better now.

You have reported 533 posts with 93% accuracy (483 good, 37 bad, 13 unhandled). Do not worry about your accuracy too much; one accurate report is worth many inaccurate reports.
