I hit my total merits at 333, that is a nice figure. I saved it, saved my date to remember.
From that image, I have ideas to open this thread for users whom want to save their merit records, and their unforgettable days.

Merits are undestroyable, at least if you don't seriously abuse, and admin does not step in and revert your merit (sent/ received) history.
Of course, not all of users will hit these nice figures: 100, 111, 200, 222, 300, 333, 400, 444, 500, 555, 600, 666, 777, 888, 999, 1000, 1111, 2222, 3333, or 4444.

It's a nice concept. IIRC, I hope it would be like when you reach a certain post count like 1337, it turned into "leet" I didn't get to screenshot it but I remember it happened when that was my post count.

Exactly, with postcount, after your postcount surpasses 1337, if you want to get it back; it is simple by deleting your past posts till your total postcount hist 1337 again. Then, you can enjoy your 'leet'.
Unfortunately, it is not thing will happen with merit records. You can neither delete your past merits nor ask others to send you exact number of merits to hit figures you want.
You might hit exactly 555 merits in total or hit figure at 556, 557, that is not a nice figure, definitely.
If you luckily hit that figure, 555, please save your merit record here.

My target is 2000 Merit’s (which is actually 1000 earned Merit because I got 1000 airdropped by theymos).

Lots of people reached 2000+ a long time ago. I’m a very active poster here but my post quality must be shit because I’m quite slow at earning them.

I will get there though. I suppose it’s good to have something to aim at & work towards.

I'm not really into commemorating the number of merits I've received, but I suppose hitting the 3000 mark was an achievement of sorts--but 1000 of those I got airdropped when the merit system was put in place, so I didn't earn those.  I never really thought I deserved to earn all the merits I did, and I'm not keeping score anyway.

Merits are far more important for those members who registered after Jan. 2018 and who've ranked up.  Those are the ones who ought to give themselves a big pat on the back and get an addaboy from other users here.  For me, it doesn't really matter how many I've earned since I'd already hit Legendary (just barely) before the beginning of the merit system.

Your post quality is most definitely not shit, and it's no easy feat for anyone to get up to or past 2000 merits.  Think of how many registered users are actually on this site compared to how many have hit 2000 merits.  It's a very small percentage.

I suppose you’re right, I should quit whining. Some genuine newbies would kill to get to Full Member rank let alone be a Legendary on 1500+ Merit.

I guess it’s natural to always look at the guy who’s doing better than you rather than the many who aren’t (if you get me).

You're awesome that you just continue and participate in discussions and not thinking too much about merits. It's like coming to you naturally because of the quality that you give to discussions too. It's hard work but worth it, for sure.

I think still, the main idea of merits should be not for just leveling up. Making sure that you are posting quality content that deserves merits, etc. Still, Kudos to those who have earned every merit from their account, they are awesome too.

I have no specific target with regards to merit but I'm happy that I'm gaining merits :).

The merits are not my goal, my goal is the legendary rank, but since my username is VB1001 when I reach 1001, the merits are enough for me.

The best reward is to contribute to the forum and try to make the answers, opinions or threads created interesting.

But, thanks to this thread I will reserve my place for the number of "1001" Merits.

When merits started, I was a Sr. Member that was about to become a hero member in a few weeks, and I was surprised (at that time) that you cannot level up right away. I thought I wasn’t going to be able to go to the Hero Member level, but here we are. It’s definitely possible  ;)

About merit and rank-up challenge, sure we all can rank up, sooner or later, if we are good users in forum.
I was a Full Member, and was behind Senior Member around month. Then merit system appeared and took me more than one year to become a Senior Member. Somehow it trapped me for too long.

How's that coming along with the other accounts you own and create similar threads to farm merits?  :o

You think I might have forgotten how you locked that thread when asked about your alt accounts and merit schemes but I haven't. I'm too busy these days but I hope you wouldn't lock threads when asked for it the next time. :)

Any reference with that? I didn’t know that the OP has some kind of scheme with that. I haven’t crossed something related to that though.

You registered in 2015, right?  You must have been at a fairly high rank in Jan. 2018 when the merit system was implemented.  Not taking anything away from your achievement but I'm pretty sure you didn't rank up all the way from Newbie by that point.  Anyway, congrats on hitting Legendary.  It's still quite an accomplishment doing it under the merit system.  I had just barely ranked up to Legendary when the merit system went into effect, so I kind of lucked out.  Props.

I'd agree with this only if the activity is fairly high to begin with.  There are some Jr. Members who've made one or two really good posts and have therefore earned more merits than they have activity.  I wouldn't bestow any honors on them without a track record of quality posts as determined by earned merits.  I like the idea of custom ranks and badges and other acknowledgements of things, but I don't think Theymos cares about doing any of that.  It's too bad.

You'll get that sooner or later, I'm sure of it.

I was a Hero Member at the time, so I got 500 free merits. Now I have +1500, which +1000 are earned merits. Isn't this considered a "self-made Legendary"? That's what I meant.

Currently, you need to make one more post because a triple 88 would be a much nicer series of numbers.  Hopefully, no one screws it up (which seems to be quite common in these parts) and gives you a merit until you have been able to post and capture such image...

Sorry the record now is 88 including this post 87 activity and 92 merits. I think, I'll watch over the 99 3x it's also cooler.  ;D

Hopefully you have not jinxed yourself in terms of the 888 number.  Someone like Loyce or suchmoon will come in and give you 10 merits when you are approaching 888, then you are screwed out of a little historical markenings.   And don't come whining in this thread when that happens, because you have invited such possible jinxing. I have an "Inspect -> Edit as HTML" friend. My merit count never stopped at 999. It got boosted by suchmoon (much appreciated).

I like them all, and my current target figure is 777, that is not too far from my current merit record, at 756. I wish that there is no one will spoil my merit points suddenly surpassing 777.

While I am reading a thread in another tab of my browser, I have found a forum user with a 111 merit. So I'm about to reach my devilish place of numbers, I just hope no one would mess it just like before LoL. Anyways, I don't know if I should call it a little but it really seems a little then more to reach the Legendary Rank or that '666' thing.

Receive 250 airdrops of merit. The first target was 333. That was quite encouraging and maybe that was the first target that I had to achieve. Only 13 again more to the target.  ::) ::)

Well, I see all merits here are too high already, and it is a good starting point and they are an inspiration for me to consider.

Five-digit merit counts are too far to consider. Maybe theymos will have his five-digit merit counts first on the forum. Next year, maybe.

Four-digit merit counts:
There are no official and fixed rules about it.

When I created the topic, I only intented to give myself and others a place to save their memorable merit-count records. It depends on users which figure are important for them. There are some beautiful figures of merit counts, and we do all agree: 100, 500, 1000, 1111, 2222, 3333, 4444, 5555, and some other same figures. For other figures, I don't say they are not beautiful and as I disclosed, the topic is not only for saving beautiful figures but also for saving your important and memorable figures during your time on the forum.

Some figures can be important for some users (because they have to fight so hard to get those counts) but can be very normal to the others (because they can easily get those merit counts).

Some figures are very special on some days. I don't know there are users who got their 2020 merits on 02 February of 2020 or not but if there are, it will be cool to see their snapshots here. 2020-merits snapshot is saved on 02 February 2020. Amazing.

Your merit record is very yummy and it's one of the product that I can buy in my country. That is the most seen number in product that has been sold in groceries in the mall and even in the store at my neighbor. It is a sardines. I suggest you buy it and eat it with rice plus it's very cheap.

Yes, I would say that if you want to get a can that has the number "555" and its delicious contents, then you have to spend a little money so you can taste it. However, if you want the number "555" to be exactly one line below the activity value on your account profile, then you should try to be a good member of the community, post something useful, help other users and we are not allowed to buy that. I am sure you will also get one day, that value is proof of your efforts and hard work that are valued by forum users here. Oh maybe, I can try your suggestion to taste the delicious this food. :D

You have to click on the "Merit" button placed at the right side of a post. But in order to have merits for giving to someone, you have to earn them.

You receive 1 sendable merit for each 2 merits earned.

Today I am sharing number 1199 and will try to catch the next big 1200 number if I will be lucky enough  ;).

Just saw this thread today. Just a loop-hole tip if you missed your "nice merit record": Use the Inspect Element feature of the browser you're using and simply change the text on the merit field LOL.

I am sorry for my lack of updates in OP and in reserved posts for special merit records. I also thank to users who spent their time to scrape past pages of the thread and gave me a summary collection of great merit records. I gave away some merits to some users.

I promise to spend some time to update the thread. It is cool to see many people joined here and left your sweet records here.

In contrast, I see something uncomfortable. Images are posted without appropriate width or height adjustment, they are too large. Moreover, the thread likely has turned to be an annoying space, somewhat spam. I decided to locked the topic next few hours.

Not only in my thread but also in thread of the others, you always should adjust width and height of images appropriately. See Guideline on posting images (with size adjustments), hyperlinks (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3974517.0). I guess newbies don't know such adjustments.

I wrote somewhere that posting archive links will be better, like what NotATether did (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5171113.msg54270216#msg54270216). This thread should be a place to save your records, not to show them in full images. For this goal, archive links are more fitted.
