When do you guys think the next dogecoin spike/rise will happen? Hopefully we will reach 500 satoshis.

I think it'll only go down now after the fork because block rewards will be fixed (= more coins overall). Maybe we'll see another rise when the reward halves.

The last time it halved, the spike in value happened a week before (in anticipation).

When it actually halved, then value decreased.

Something similar with 100 billion coins. And with a low market cap (for high Return On Investment)

You want a coin with huge sell walls and potential to break them which happens with these high supply/low satoshi coins. The only problem is they need a catalyst for the huge growth. Doge's bobsledding thing remains unmatched in the crypto community and I'm not sure if Flap, Moon, or any other high supply coin could do this.

The next immediate rise will come at block 145000. That's when the multi-pool shield is implemented.  The mass dumping of Dogecoin onto the open market will be reduced.  The next rise after that should be with the next halving.  In between is anyone's guess, since something can happen overnight.

Translation:  I think it's a slow grind to the bottom and a lot of people will get frustrated and bail.  Smart money will buy when all hope is lost, and people will buy back in at higher prices than they sold to smart money.

You guys forget how quickly Dogecoin's pumps occur. Last time it went from 80 satoshi to 200 satoshi overnight. The next pump it went from 160 up to 290~ in 36~ hours. Literally $60 million USD was pumped in. Once the train gets rolling, it's going to be hard to stop

I forgot that Doge4Water (2 wells for drought stricken Kenya) is going to make some huge news and much sooner than I thought. Someone just donated 14 million Doges to the campaign which exceeded what they were trying to raise.  That plus the circumstances of the donation are going to make some news very soon.

I don't think the Doge community was ready for that donation, or if we even understand it.  But holy crap.  Dude came out of nowhere and donated over 11K USD to put it over the top.

Doge community is special.  Don't overlook it too long people.

I think there are just TOO MANY COINS for Doge to spike like it did earlier.  The change in the block rewards will at least keep those with the highest propensity to sell from getting the lions share of new coins, so it will at best be a slow rise, or slower fall, rather than a spike like what happened before.

I hope too. Maybe 500-1000 satoshis would be sufficient. Many says dogecoin is undervalued.

Give it a year or two and then check back. Be realistic in your expectations.

scrypt ASIC will hit the market on Q3-Q4 2014 ... remeber what happened to btc when we jump from gpu to fpga to asic ? BUT at the end of the 2014 70-80% of dogecoin will be mined already ... and its'not true to other coins ...

It depends on how far the Doge community can push the coin. Will more and more vendors accept it or will the growth stop?

Premined coin is an experiment to see if miners will support a fully mined coin by mining for transaction fees and it's not dead yet. Doge has a bigger community, so maybe it will do OK after it's almost fully mined. Besides that, the devs changed it to allow a small quantity of doges to be mined for inflation, which might help.

NASCAR? Seems like it would generate a lot of press and interest.

hard to predict the bottom the chart in the last month is incredibly negative. Have we dipped below real support and are due for a bounce??? or do we go down to 35 satoshi..... I can't stomach spending anything right now on Doge, I look at every potential bottom in the past month where I held back on buying and man was I glad I did. Something still feels like we are going lower and that goes for Bitcoin too.

I think Bitcoin sees sub 400 before recovering and I think Doge sees 40 satoshi...... hard to believe if that ends up being true but man that is what i am thinking right now, I just don't see all of the hype of crypto amounting to ANY real substantive market penetration and differences in who is buying.

EVERY single reasonable human I associate with thinks Bitcoin is a disease and to stay far away. This tells me two things, 1) still means we are in the early early stages of adoption so if these coins can survive next 12 months bam... and 2) prices can go much lower than where they are.

I was going through the sell orders, I saw that some guy put 60 BTC at 138, so I knew 137 would be the end :D

Seemed like every time there is a large sell wall people freak and sell.  Buy at prices that are above support...and once you get to the (big) sell wall...you sell!  I profited (albeit a minor amount) by doing this on Cryptsy today.

It's a suprise that people will put up and/or add to a huge sell wall.  If they were smart they wouldn't do that since it effectively slows (or stops) the upward progress of buying.  More people would make profits if they realized that (I think).

Guys hopefully tonight it hits around 112 so BUY BUY BUY , putting another 6 BTC in.

I learned something from you tonight thanks. Hopefully I will not be making that mistake again.

Coins often adapt to take account of new technology. A lot of coins added kimoto's gravity well and x11 to fight back. Maybe someone will invent some new technology to deal with the incoming asics. If someone invents a solution to the problem for one coin, all the other coins will probably adopt it.

Several SHA256 coins survived ASICs simply by using merged mining. It is not hard to do.

If DOGE and litecoin were merged mined together, along with any other scrypt coins interested in actually securing their blockchains, ASICs should be very survivable.

You don't even need ASICs to create the need for merged mining, just the proliferation of coins using the same hashing algorithm suffices.
