I can provide $500 worth of BTC/ETH as a collateral. If you only give $500 worth of BTC/ETH, you basically get a risk free trade and either 'sell' your collateral at today's rate in two months, or 'buy' your collateral at today's rate in two months, depending on how the market moves.
