Just throwing this out there, but these are the dates I can draft online, if we are talking early a.m. on a weekend USA time:
- Saturday 8/17
- Sunday 8/18
- Sunday 9/1
- Weekdays are more flexible (evenings or morning USA time)

Another thought is having a slow/snail draft that starts very soon now that we have enough teams. Say each team has 12 or 24 hours to select a pick, although you don't need to take the 12 or 24 hours. Once you select, the clock resets to the next team. Some teams may only take a few minutes, some may take the full 12 or 24 hours. That way, those of us that have job constraights, work events, family trips, sports, travels, time zone issues etc in the summer having flexibility of quickly logging on and selecting a pic during the course of the day. This also allows newbies to do plenty of research/time before selecting, so they don't feel pressured because of a time constraint. I have heard this works great for leagues, like ours, with teams all over the world.

I have seen drafts done like this before. I am not sure if it's available on yahoo or not, while I certainly appreciate the idea...I plan to keep this a traditional draft. It's more fun like that as well.  Also makes sure you've done your homework in time for draft day! 

I think we have a few options for a slow draft:

- We use the chat board on the yahoo website and do it manually. This will put a bit of heavy lifting on Chi to update picks and reset timer, but also allows for plenty of time.

- RTsports.com offers it, and you get notifications! They charge about $90 for a league. We could use one team's entry fee for the cost?
If the league is designated to have a "slow" draft, each team will have between 2 and 8 hours to draft a player and the clock will be paused every night from 2:00 am ET until 8:00 am ET. In addition, notifications (email, text, app push) will be sent to all team owners after each pick (this can be adjusted by team owners so they only receive notification when they are up). The expanded pick time in a "slow" draft is intended to be a fail-safe to keep the draft going in case an owner can't get to their computer or forgets about the draft, etc. RealTime Fantasy Sports reserves the right to reduce the draft time for each team in the final week before the start of the first game of the season.

- We just pick a date/time that works for everyone for a live draft  ;D

I appreciate the idea, but I'm 100% completely against a slow draft.  They aren't fun, they take way too much time, and finding a time for 10-12 people to draft for an hour and half isn't that difficult really.

I actually liked the 25th for draft, tho 18th could work as well. Normally I just autodraft, but apparently I have to manually autodraft this time.

Noted Chi, completely understandable. I just hope I can make the darn draft......August is crazy.

I think it’s a cool idea in some cases, and I’m open to any and all ideas, but a traditional live draft is just such an important part of the “experience” imho.  It’s exciting/ nerve-racking/ etc. A slow draft just kinda ruins that ya know.

If everyone could please list out what times and dates would work for them I’d appreciate it! I realize not everyone can do that right away, just try and post as soon you can. Gracias!

I can do Aug 17, 18, probably morning PST of 24, or 25. Aug 31/Sep 1 is no bueno for me.

I reckon you can just set it and if someone chooses the risk of .01 BTC for auto drafting then so be it. I'm down with whatever. I usually do 2-3 leagues a season so figured why not on joining for this one though I had to make a new Yahoo account for some reason for it. All good.

Yeah man, I'm with ya. I've done Fantasy for a while now and that definitely makes for a better draft day. worst comes to worst, I see those that revert to auto draft as just donating money to the rest of us too :) But definitely an entering argument with being able to do it via app now-a-days ya know. I'll take Andy Dalton next :) Tebow is key though! On a realistic note, I'm interested to see how all of the ex-steelers do this season! Should be a fun one.

To be perfectly honest the draft should be the weekend of the 4th preseason game.  No real players will be on the field.  Injuries will be known to all.  It's truly the fairest time to draft.  We should figure out a day on that weekend.  Just my 2 bits.  I'm about to pay as well.

I agree, but it is what it is when it comes to a draft time/date that works for everyone.  I am making myself WIDE open for this, as FF is like a religion to me..hopefully others do their best to do so as well.

I tried to do it last year with the Barolo, but I lost contact with the guy who was supposedly making them over in Italy. I’ll still try to contact him, but I think it would be kinda cool to have a bitcointalk FF trophy.

Don't forget with yahoo you can setup a draft list so that if you are not there your choices will still be picked and this is good to do for if you get disconnected during the draft for any reason. I generally just take the regular list and remove guys I don't like and thats it.

I could personally care less if anyone autodrafts or not. i dislike PPR because i don't like just picking the high payed "studs" that get all the targets.

Yeah man, this is the first time you’ve even posted in this thread lol.

I like PPR, it makes the league more competitive. We could vote on this. Technically as of now the league is full. One person has “reserved a spot” so I’ll give them another day to decide. Then it will be you if you want to play.

& you may not care about auto-drafting, but I do. This is a non-autodraft league.

Agree PPR makes a league that much more high scoring and fun. Standard leagues are getting more rare over time.
Do we have a consensus on draft dates? The only ones that seems to make sense for most people is 8/18, or a weekday. Thoughts?

I am fine with anytime, just gotta put few alarms to make sure i don’t forget about it..

I was good with 8/25, can do 8/18 too. Weekday is harder for me with the time zone differences.

The latest I could do on weekdays would be 9 PM EST (might have to do that for west coast folk)... but weekdays are entirely possible. What does everyone think, only try to draft on the weekend?

I think most weekdays after 9 pm est would work for me except Tuesdays and labor day.

Would still prefer original plan of 25 or barring that 17, 18, or 24, preferably in morning of California time.

We have one Euro here that I know of, anyone else a Euro (or anywhere outside the U.S.) here besides HHampuz? If not, then that opens up a lot of opportunity for us.  If we do have more Euro's in this draft, then it'll have to be a weekend I'm sure.  Hampz is quite flexible so I think he'd be able to make the draft if we did a weekday. I'd still prefer shooting for a weekend, but either way...if we can all make a draft, that's all that matters.

Does anyone have an issue with a fully open waiver wire, meaning no lock up times/days.  I've played in a few leagues that do this and I love it.  Makes it more competitive. If you're highly against it, speak up. If not, setting it up this way.

Hey fellas, I’m pissed 😤 I will be flying the 22nd, shitty deal! I can do Mon 8/19, Tues 8/20, Weds 8/28 and the following Thurs 8/29. That timeframe between Weds 8/21 and Tues 8/27 I’m pretty much screwed as I will be traveling. The time of day is 9pm EST works fine. At this point, I know Chi has busted his ass so feel free to grab another team if that date is set in stone. Dang!

So, everyone seems to be hating on Todd Gurley on the various fantasy boards...what's everyone's thoughts on Antonio Brown's frost bitten feet??

Definately not optimal but it will heal and antonio brown is still one of the best recievers out there.  Some drafts I see him go high some really low, he is definately a wildcard this year.

Impossible to say for either, but could be great values.

At this point I am convinced he's mentally ill.  I'm not even making jokes here, I feel bad for the guy. Clearly he's got some sort of personality disorder and quite possibly the onsets of CTE.  The man has lost his mind.

Interesting 1st week.. Ups and downs for sure but let's see what week 2 will bring (I know.. I know, two more games before then).

IMPORTANT REMINDER:  PLEASE make sure you're setting your lineups each week. Spend 5mns on Sunday morning before games kick off to make sure it's filled.  When you don't set your lineups and have guys whom are injured or not playing, you're unfairly giving an advantage to your opponent and potentially hurting other teams at the same time.  It's not fair to those whom are putting in the time and effort and who likely worked hard for their buy in entry.

Keep it fair, keep it fun. I much appreciate it! This is a really great league for the most part, lets keep it up and make it even better!  Thanks!

I would just like to thank everyone for a pretty damn good fantasy football season.  I can't believe its over already, but I guess time flies when you're having fun! 

I painfully want to offer my congratulations to "Casascius Destroyer" (Tothemoonsands) on winning the championship. While I am most certainly still bitter  >:( ,  you were a very worthy opponent! Well done sir!
