Title: What Happened with ETH ?
Post by: konflikkastil on August 06, 2019, 08:09:49 PM
Ethereum is the best partner of bitcoin, during 2017 ethereum prices were around 5% of the price of bitcoin. when the bitcoin price is $ 5600 then the ethereum price is $ 280
But why since 2018 until now when bitcoin has reached $ 11 707, ethereum is still $ 227. The ethereum price should be $ 585.
What happened ??? if bitcoin price is $ 20 000 then ethereum price is only $ 600 ::)

I think it is due to increasing dominancy of bitcoin in the market at the moment as soon as it settles down or changes direction we are definitely going to see better prices and recovery in eth and other alts too but at the moment seems like btc is taking the game away from alts.

Bitocin has increased in dominance because more popel know about it existing.

Hold in if you have any eth as it seems to be hugging the $200 point quite well now (you could try to sell and buy back for less in btc value to increase your amount of eth but I don't think we'll fall much further).

I think this is due primarily to the fact that recently Ethereum has a lot of competitors who are luring new projects into their networks, which reduces the popularity of Ethereum and accordingly affects the price level of this coin.

Etherium has been so disappointing to say the least and a lot of altcoins are also following the lead, this goes to show how much unpredictable the crypto market is, why one need to understand the dynamics and flow with it. It is etherium now, may be bitcoin next

As long as the Ethereum goes down continuously it is best time to hop on and buy more.
I dont expect ETH to go worst but love the opportunity to have it, i guess this is just because people are giving more demand to BTC now.
But soon everything will be in normal, just buy more now!

Just a normal thing in cryptocurrency and its market.
Some goes down while others go up. this is very common. but what we need to do is to extend the opportunity on things like this.
It is easy and cheaper now to harvest and wait for the fruit to be ripe once the bull run comes.

I think it's mainly because the teams of ICO projects sold the Eth they earned during their ICO by selling their tokens against Ethers.
A big amount had been bought by people and then sent to ICOs in exchange of tokens. But ICO teams had to finance their projects in fiat then, so they had to sell their ethereum bags.
You can check the ethereum bagholds and spendings of several ICOs there https://app.santiment.net/projects/ethereum]https://app.santiment.net/projects/ethereum (https://app.santiment.net/projects/ethereum)

Crypto enthusiasts are presently looking forward to old bitcoin more than any altcoin, which is also applicable to ethereum. So if they notice pthat bitcoin is about to pump or that its is pumping, they sell off their altcoins at any price. This is also affecting ethereum and that is why it is not growing independent of bitcoin.

ETH just got driven up by BTC last 2017. That increase is not the increase we want to see since it's more of relying purely on BTC.

Look at what happened today, now with BTC at over $11,000, ETH is still sleeping like a cow. This just means that everything about ETH is just a hype last 2017.

But you can play short-term trades here to make some profits. Still one of the top altcoins with a good volume.

IEO is what takes away or suck away value from Ethereum, then ICO was at the peak and there is need to stack Ethereum in your wallet if you want to take part in ICO especially the hot ICOs, but now there is no need to hold Ethereum unless you are a developer that need it for your platform, another thing we should notice is that most of these ICOs that raised Ethers are now dumping on the exchanges in need of cash for their platform

Who knows what happened? Maybe you can find the reason while you see if bitcoin dominance is higher than 65% right now, so people are exchanging their altcoin to bitcoin.
Not only ETH, 99% from all altcoins also in same situation with ETH. While their price should be rise alomg with bitcoin, but their price only changed a little

There is no required price for ETH, it is unpredictable and if bitcoin becomes bette compare to ETH then so be it. I still believe with ETH, the season of altcoins will come and surprise us. I don’t believe that ETH will just stay below $600, ETH can be more and ETH will go for more that’s the reality for me.

ETH is likely the other altcoins that still experience the dumping price on the crypto market. So far, we can see the progress of Ethereum during this recovery era in 2019, but it dropped again to only around $224.10. Actually, it has been a good move in some weeks ago, but of course, the BTC price may really give a big impact to all altcoins, including the Ethereum. But personally, I believe that this coin can enhance its power again and reaches the great price some months later

In 2017, Ethereum was needed to participate in ICO. There was a great demand for it, respectively, and the price was high.
Now there is no hype, so the price is kept at the lower bounds.

maybe the reason why bitcoin prices skyrocketed is because bitcoin demand is higher than ethereum, but that doesn't mean ethereum won't go up in price, I'm sure with ethereum potential, ethereum is the second best altcoin on this market I think we will witness an increase in ethereum prices after bitcoin are at the highest price again.

Just look at the Bitcoin dominance. We are already at 68 % and rising. It's really no wonder that all altcoins, including ETH, are struggling to keep up with Bitcoin. We won't see an altseason as long as the BTC dominance is that high.

There is a huge trend reversal, during the beginning of the bitcoin bull run, a lot of persons had invested in eth and some other altcoins hoping of a repeat of 2017 event but it was all disappointing. I had exited eth and moved back to etherium when I noticed it is not favorable.

Ethereum is the chief coin in use during the era of ICOs. At the time of the bear market, several of these ico devs dumped their accrued ethereum to hedge for usdt. The price of eth has not recovered from the massive dump. It's going to take a miracle for eth to go back to its 2017 price levels

maybe behind all that because of market demand, if many take part in bitcoin automatically prices will go up especially if a lot of positive news can affect the price of bitcoin. but I believe that there will be a time where ethereum prices can rise to high prices. It is only a matter of time

Title: Re: What Happened with ETH ?

Nothing happened, it's just reduction of demand, ETH could not hold the price at that level anymore.
First there are no so much ICO happening in 2019, next big factor is small transaction fees of BTC so people don't need buy ETH for cheaper transactions.

That would be the 2 biggest reasons why ETH price couldn't keep up with the price, don' think it has any other reason behind the story or alt season altogether.

it could be etherium fame has taken by other coin, so the demand was reduced and making the price has stuck, or even fall like now.

demand and supply in the market is one of the reasons that makes coin prices go up or prices go down, if more market demand or more people invest in ethereum, of course prices will go up and vice versa.

Ethereum is still good as investment. There's still potential profit to it by holding for a long term. Devs of it and founder Vitalik is still there and managing ethereum and their team thinking how ethereum can be profitable  to its users and holders.
He recently decided that it would be good to unite with Bitcoin cash, which caused very negative sentiment among the Ethereum community. I think Vitalik does not know what to do

The ETH price will never rise too high, and it is very difficult to go to ATH in 2018. Currently the demand for ETH is not so much, ICO is dead and it makes ETH collapse.

It will still go up, do not listen to people that think ethereums time is done, it is still the best all around there is. Right now, all of market went down, all the way from 20k times to this day price has always been shaky and bear run hurt it like hell, however it is recovering, it is even focusing on making it proof of stake instead of proof of work. It is also the leader in ICO fundings and it is also allowing dapps to built and games to be played, it also has blockchain storing data technology.

Basically, anyone can do whatever they want with it and there is nothing better at what ethereum does better than ethereum itself. It may not be what it used to be and it may have hard days but eventually it will rise back up and will go up, remember this is the second biggest coin right now.

At the time of 2017, the market exploded because of ICO. Everyone holds ETH to join ICO, which makes ETH very valuable. Currently, the situation has changed. People no longer participate in many ICOs, this issue partly affects the value of ETH.

But don't worry, I think ETH will soon return to its true value in the future. I still realize that cutting-edge technology will help it grow well. When the 2.0 update succeeds, I think you will be surprised by what ETH brings us.

Keep calm and wait. Good luck to you guy!!

The price of ethereum has fallen sharply due to the fact that projects that raised money in ethereum sold a lot in 2018.
Agree, that's the truth. In 2018 all ICO projects sold all the ETH they had to maintain the project. And it made ETH decline like it is now. And I think it's difficult for ETH to go up like before because now no project holds ETH.

The price of ethereum has fallen sharply due to the fact that projects that raised money in ethereum sold a lot in 2018.
I tend to also believe that this might be one of the reason why ETH's price has declined sharply from it's ATH. During the year 2017 where there are lot of ICOs who reached hardcap, the ETH which is a proceed from ICO may have been converted to other currencies like BTC and it has not recovered it's price since then.

most projects using ethereum might also have an effect, although not too large, when bitcoin moves up the traders are still focused on buying bitcoin, so ethereum is still stuck and when bitcoin is more stable, ETH will become the second choice of traders I think it can drive up the price of ETH.

Ethereum as well as all other altcoins are very silent at the moment. This happens due to BTC dominance that is extremely high at the moment. Once it will go down, altcoins will show their potential, especially ETH.

I think it all happened when ETH started announcing that they were developing their version to the latest version. since then the price of ETH has come down and has continued to fall, until now. but I am sure that ETH will catch up with BTC after version 2.0 was launched by ETH. although there will be some problems at the start of the launch due to some new policies that have been made by ETH developers.

A popular theory that I seem to believe is that the effects of ico era in 2017/2018 has affected the price of ethereum significantly as most of the project owners that collected eth during their various icos have crashed the price by dumping during the bear run in order to protect the value of their funds. Whether ethereum will ever recover from this massive dump remains to be discussed

we cannot fully assume that the rise in ethereum prices depends on the price of bitcoin. as far as I know the increase in the price of coins depends on demand and also supply in the market. if the price of bitcoin goes up, altcoin can change to go down and it can also go up. because the crypto market is sometimes unpredictable

I have not found the right answer to cause Ethereum prices to drop since 2018. I had thought that early in 2019, Ethereum would go back together with the price of Bitcoin, which is 5% as you mentioned ... But in reality it is not like that at this time. It could be because a lot of new coins were born, or because Ethereum has less demand.

Every thing has session, which is Bitcoin and ETH has been leading in the coin market, and the current prize, the percentage of the BTC are far difference on like 2017, i think, the demand of BTC is very high than ETH, therefore, this is the best time to invest on ETH as low at $200, and i think, it can not fall below, which can be higher in future.

In crypto market, there is no given ratio to compare prices of coins. Let's not estimate prices of other coins comparative to Bitcoin. Let me remind you that bitcoin takes more than 60% of overall market capitalization and that dominance is huge. Bitcoin is the pace setter and anyone who wants to get in crypto will first buy bitcoin most likely. I understand that ETH is a superb project right from onset, but price of coins depend on the market , there is no formula to calculate or estimate prices compared to BTC.

not sure if ethereum is always bound to bitcoin but if we see ethereum prices in 2017 could be increased due to influence of altseason and because 2019 there is no altseason, this causes ethereal to not develop, but let us just wait for ethereum update later hopefully can bring things that can increase value of ethereum.

Because peoples prefer bitcoin, then the value of bitcoin will be much higher than ethereum.
in addition, there were many bad ico projects in ethereum network, causing eth value to drop.

Everyone is hoping that the price of ETH may improve during this period, but this year it does not happen and the current ETH only maintains at $200 during the past 2 months. In my opinion this year the market is very bad and we will face a lot of risks without a proper investment strategy. Now it is best to wait another 2 years for the market to get better because most of the pennies have only declined and very few pennies tend to rise.

For every project that is established, they have a particular product they have that pushes them forward and once that produce losses value, then that may start being the end of such project. I am not saying that Ethereum is coming to an end, note that I did not say that we should not expect any much from Ethereum again, as long as the ICo is still filled with scammers.

There is no relationship between Bitcoin and Ethereum, and each an every one of them is developed to add value to their community, bitcoin is dominating most of them because it has a product that people cannot do without. Ethereum on the other hand only depend of ICOs’ and you can see how ico’s are really losing interest, so you may never expect anything except they come with another product concept.

You must've check the bitcoin dominance, right now it is on 70% meaning all the cryptocurrency marketcap is on Bitcoin, all the money is revolving on Bitcoin, you can't expect a higher price for ETH as of the moment. Best scenario possible is when BTC dominance tanks, it would flow unto alts becoming altseason OR it would just come to Tether making alts bleed a lot more higher. Patience and see how this unfolds

This is the general situation of the alts now. As you can see, investors only want to trade in Bitcoin and don't like to deal with alts. that's why volatility is always only in Bitcoin.
But don't worry too much, everything will calm down and the season of alts is coming. ;)

But I am sure that the peak of Ethereum price increase at the end of this year, you should see some performance of Ethereum Team, one of which will be released ETHEREUM 2.0. Now the reality is Ethereum is a little slow to follow the movements of Bitcoin prices, but in the future I think Ethereum will run faster. Are you sure  ...?
changes will affect ethereum, it takes time to see the price movements of the ETH,
I'm sure the price of ethereum is increasing slowly,
until now I still have some eth for long-term assets and will always add.

Title: Re: What Happened with ETH ?

The reason why Ethereum is not rising though Bitcoin keeps on increasing day by day is because many crypto investors are once again all putting their holdings in Bitcoin. It's pretty normal to have the price of any asset increase in value when the demand of it rises high. Also, bitcoin has a finite supply and that's also another factor that makes investors choose it over Ethereum.

ethereum difficulties to return to experience a significant increase, investors may hesitate to invest in ethereum after a drastic price decline in ethereum some time ago, ethereum prices continue to move very slowly even though the price of bitcoin is experiencing significant movements, it may take a long time for ethereum to be able to attract investors again to invest in ethereum so that ethereum prices can soar again

The high dominance of bitcoin over the crypto market has really affected ethereum and the other altcoins. During the beginning of June, 2019, Ethereum was gaining some grounds as the price was appreciating at the same rate as bitcoin but it seems to have dropped once again. This has become a worrying trend for myself and others who hodl Ethereum.

You take it easy. Bitcoin still dominates at this time. of course, it affects the price of altcoin, including ethereum. There will be a time when all altcoin prices will rise. for now, it's better to buy a lot of ethereum. Because when it's time to go up, you will be rich.

The price of etherium is affected the general altcoin market and being the leader of alts, the altcoin bull run solely depends on eth. It is disappointing to see eth still at this price while bitcoin has grown more than half of its all time high, I am actually watching for a good entry to buy eth

I also have the same opinion. Today, ethereum fell in price to $ 211 and I additionally bought a certain amount of ethereum. So far, ethereum does not show good growth even in proportion to bitcoin. However, this is temporary. In the future, the situation should change for the better. This coin should grow well in the future, especially after the planned improvements in January next year.

This year, the performance of ETH in reference to BTC has been slow and disturbing because more traders have their preference for the king cryptocurrency "bitcoin". I hope things get normalized.

this happens because the dominance of bitcoin is very strong compared to ethereum, when bitcoin rises then ethereum follows but the increase is so slow. don't compare bitcoin increase with ethereum with the same value.

right now a lot of things that affect the rise or fall of eth prices in the market and on the  basically of eth price movements are greatly influenced by the much of transactions in the market both selling and buying, in fact in every eth move  up and down always gives benefits to the trader because when eth prices rise, of course it is an opportunity for them to sell eth at a high price and also when eth prices go down, isn't it a good time to buy eth at a cheap price? 😂

It is not at all clear what is happening with the market, I personally expected the growth of Altcoins and bought them. But a fiasco happened, all alkoins, including ethereum, go to the very bottom. Rumor has it that market recovery will not be soon and bitcoin has grown due to the transfer of fiat funds that were hidden in banks at the aligarchs and this was a response to the sanctions of the United States. And many rich people about other cryptocurrencies and did not hear besides bitcoin and therefore bought it.

Perhaps it is so, because more and more people are beginning to see and realize that BTC market is heavily manipulated, therefore they no longer reacting too much, when it comes to "follow the leader" kind of logic.

The ETH price will never rise too high, and it is very difficult to go to ATH in 2018. Currently the demand for ETH is not so much, ICO is dead and it makes ETH collapse.

There is no need to make a connection between ICOs and Ethereum. ETH was going up long before these projects appeared. Yes, I also think that this altcoin will not go to the Moon very soon, but I believe in a price breakthrough of this token. The next stop for me is 500 dollars (it can be a very fast bull run from today's price and half a thousand).

You can't say Ethereum price is 5% of the price of Bitcoin, because the price of Ethereum in 2017 increased due to many successful ICO and the ICO using Ethereum blockchain, so many people were investing and using Ethereum at the time, thus making Ethereum prices increase and at this time the price of Ethereum has not increased, because the current state of ICO is not the same as in 2017 (many ICO fail), so the price of Ethereum is not increasing like in 2017.

I thought that crypto will always be pegged to the bitcoin until it will come to the market and is backed by a commodity that gives stable value like gold or fiat money.
Crypto without any backed will never become stable and bitcoin will always give a big impact for that crypto. Ethereum without any backup and that will always really volatile. :D

in my opinion nothing happened to Ethereum, it's just that for now the price of Bitcoin is only increasing, because as we can see that none of the altcoin prices have risen very high like what happened to Bitcoin, so in my opinion this is happening because the market situation has not yet recovered and I'm sure if the market starts to recover (a bull run occurred) then Ethereum prices will start to rise very high again and of course it will give you a very big profit.

But that is possible to happen because some investors who invest Bitcoin were also investing Ethereum as a package.

Agree, ICO died and it made ETH seem dead, in 2017 we saw the prosperity of the ICO and it helped the ETH price go up by more than $ 1,000 in a short time, And now the IEO has replaced ICO and therefore, there is no reason to help ETH increase prices

Ethereum prices went up in 2017 by 100x (in USD terms) as a result of the ICOs. The ICOs crashed in 2018, and now ETH is going back to the previous levels. I won't be even surprised if Ethereum ends up near its ICO price (BTC0.0005 per coin). ICOs represented the biggest use of ETH. Without them, ETH is just like any other altcoin.

most of them are true.

- crypto market cap too low and Steady
- too many fake icos
- icos Need to cash out
- Bitcoin
- lots of competition platforms
- people loose confidence
- hardfork to pos is scary
- dapps are rising on other platforms
- missing innovation

but ethereum is #2 crypto for a reason. good opportunity to buy more.

It is difficult for the market to return to the same as in 2017 because almost all altcoin in this market is experiencing a huge price drop or has been forgotten this year. Actually ETH is a coin with good technology but at this point people are only interested in the profit from this coin so holding will not help much for the long term and it is best to choose a new coin better because surely ETH can go back to $10 at any time

Most investors and traders of Ethereum are currently trading ethereum with a stable coin pair, meaning an increase in the market value of bitcoin does not have any effect on the value of ethereum. In 2017, most traders use to trade ethereum against bitcoin which made an increase in bitcoin affect ethereum...

Ethereum has a disappointing development and price swims between the $200 and 300$. Current price is below the $200 which doesn't look good for the bulls. Ethereum has lost the correlation with the Bitcoin back to the last bear market, the bear market is not over.  $585 is not worth per Ethereum considering the alternative platforms but these alternatives choices can't reach the speed of the ETH.

To be candid, the value of ethereum has been on its best lately, but I still believe that ethereum is a promising project and there's a possibility for the price to increase tremendously in the near future. Ethereum seems to be the second largest coin in the coin market cap and that's a very significant position to attain.

this is called fluctuations and uncertain prices make trading more attractive to be traded in the market .. if ethereum prices are around 5% of the price of bitcoin forever then there is no fluctuating element in it, so trading will look stiff and unvariable on the markets... and now the price of ethereum is $ 169 while the price of bitcoin is $ 9,606 ... if it's at 5% then the price should be ETH $ 480 but that doesn't happen as you say even though it already happened in 2017 ... so my advice isn't always to look at to the past, but to analyze the future.

Bitcoin has always been a very well supported coin in this market and the high demand for investment has always been a strong point that the coin has been in recent times. I think investing in Bitcoin will bring more positive returns in the near future because I anticipate that there will be a lot of big fluctuations in 2020 and that other investors will tend to hold Bitcoin more and more. At this point, the value of Bitcoin is still very low and can reach $20,000 in the next few years

What happened ??? if bitcoin price is $ 20 000 then ethereum price is only $ 600 ::)

this is called fluctuations and uncertain prices make trading more attractive to be traded in the market .. if ethereum prices are around 5% of the price of bitcoin forever then there is no fluctuating element in it, so trading will look stiff and unvariable on the markets... and now the price of ethereum is $ 169 while the price of bitcoin is $ 9,606 ... if it's at 5% then the price should be ETH $ 480 but that doesn't happen as you say even though it already happened in 2017 ... so my advice isn't always to look at to the past, but to analyze the future.
crypto has price fluctuations that occur very quickly, I agree with your opinion that we cannot be guided by the price of ethereum which will always be 5% of the price of bitcoin, we can see now that the ethereum price is only around $ 168 while the price of bitcoin has reached around $ 9616 which means that ethereum prices are only around 2% of the price of bitcoin, this clearly shows that the price fluctuations that occurred in the past year cannot be compared to what is happening now, as we know that the bullrun occurred in 2017 so we cannot equate price fluctuations in 2017 with this year

I think this is a good thing to have now if you will just buy more and keep it for investment.
Not long enough, the price will rise again.

ETH will need to make x4 from now on to be competitive again. But it seems like second main crypto currency is dying off, no announcements besides ETH 2.0. Hope that this update will change things, because it is going to be the last call for ETH.

This is not the time to complain. this is the time to gather and buy more tokens.
We can have a good investment on what is happening now.

the safest is to invest in bitcoin. This coin is a leader in market movements. especially for now, of course a safe and profitable investment sought by investors. Ethereum, is also the second best coin after bitcoin, but lately the development is less in tune with bitcoin, and no one knows the cause, maybe next year's event can raise the price and attract the attention of investors again
The development as kind of been very slow just like you mentioned, and I think it would be as a result of bitcoin dominating, although I expected more form Ethereum because I dot expect what will affect other coins to also affect Ethereum being the second best coin, but here we are, the general market condition is still affecting them also, but I know that within a little short time more, Ethereum and some other top coins will bounce back to their last all-time high.

We just need to have bitcoin stabilize, once bitcoin stabilize, Ethereum will surely gain its own, momentum and then pull other altcoins along. I think Ethereum also with these their release of 2.0 next year has lots of features that will ensure that Ethereum continues to have proper development.

Supply and demand, as well as market sentiment are factors that influence the price of bitcoin against altcoin. Crypto prices will not always be the same, fluctuations will always occur. if the price of bitcoin is $ 20 000 then ethereum is not necessarily only $ 600.

actually if IEO manages to make many ETH requests increase again it is very likely to be repeated again. but unfortunately, not many IEOs are successful, only a few IEOs are successful with large revenues. That makes the adoption of ETH not so great, ETH will be difficult to grow quickly if there is no increase in demand.

The interest in Ethereum is gradually reducing. There is a good number of projects, including those using Ethereum blockchain, who now list their coins paired with bitcoin instaed of Ethereum. Sometimes, I try to fathom why this is happening. Well, I think they are not sure of what the future holds for Ethereum. So they feel holding bitcoin by pairing directly with their tokens will be better of. That notwithstanding, a little news about Ethereum can change things around and bring back the glory that seems to have been lost.

I do not think that the price of Ethereum has fallen due to the fact that interest in Ethereum has fallen. The main reason for the fall of all altcoins is the growth in the dominance of Bitcoin and it is unlikely that the situation will change. I think after halving Bitcoin, its dominance will reach 80% and the price of altcoins will fall below. But in a year or two, the price of altcoins will start to rise again and the price of Ethereum will rise.

Indeed, a decline to an unbelievable level is the general state of altcoins in the current period, bitcoin is too strong and attracts investors to focus capital on it, altcoin market lacks serious capitalization, the value of eth goes down is understandable, but exactly as you said, when the big wave that bitcoin created goes through and the balance begins to return, altcoins will revive again. However, in the next time, we should consider more new options on the market, eth has gradually been undervalued and few pumps operated.

Judging from the development of the digital currency so far, we can see firsthand that Btc is king and Ethereum as a representative, but in terms of price comparisons are very far but Ethereum has played a very good role even though it ultimately has difficulty growing back.

Yeah, Ethereum is currently a bit of a victim of its own success. Because for a long time for almost every project Ethereum was the number one choice. That caused more and more traffic on the blockchain and longer transaction times. It will be interesting to see how Ethereum (and also other projects) solve the scalability issue. For Ethereum to evolve and also gain wider adoption/usage the current tps aren't enough.

I believe ETH will rise again because the team is quite active in developing projects and products. The market network is also wide.

There is no pattern between the price of Bitcoin and the price of Ethereum, they are not interconnected. The price is affected primarily by the demand for these coins. It so happened that in the current market, Bitcoin is more popular with investors than Ethereum and that is why the imbalance in their prices went beyond the price ratio so familiar to everyone.

I think this is because ethereum prices are weakening against bitcoin. This is what makes the current dominance of bitcoin in the market reach more than 70%. But if we hold ethereum for the long term, I think we don't need to worry because ethereum is still a coin with great liquidity and is in no. 2 coinmarket

ETH this year really has not changed as much as previous years and this has greatly affected the value of this coin during the past period. Now it is hard to determine what will happen next but if ETH does not have many new updates to investors then I believe that the value of ETH will probably drop to $50. Of course this is just my personal prediction and in fact ETH is a potential coin in long-term investment.

As we observed in the market, last couple of months bitcoin were rising its price as if it would going to be having a bull run and then ethereum pulls its price also and increases. However when bitcoin slowly decreases its price, also ethereum slips also its price continuously until such time both bitcoin and ethereum now struggling for decreasing their prices now. I think there would be a good market soon and then bullish market also possibly takes place in the near future.

Exactly. That is the reason why ETH no longer has many users. People are focusing on using TRON and EOS because it's cheaper and much faster. And that makes the ETH price unable to go up like it used to, and the current price I think is okay for ETH

we cannot use such comparisons to judge the price of a currency, the problem is the attention of people, and at the moment people are most interested in BTC, they put money into Buy more BTC than buy ETH or other altcoins.

Agree, investor attention is currently focused on bitcoin and this is what causes bitcoin prices to rise above $ 10k. In addition, the fall in prices does not only occur in ethereum but almost all altcoins so I don't think we need to panic with the current ethereum price conditions.

The demand for Ethereum on the market has reduced because of reduced level of ICOs on the crypto space now. Now, IEOs are taking over and most IEOs do not pay much attention to ETH as compared to the era of ICOs. Lots of attention has switched to Bitcoin this year and this will further push the price of BTC by the close of the year.

Before pushing the price of ETH should stable at the current value because the price of Bitcoin is increasing/decreasing it is effecting on all other potential coins after Bitcoin. So it might take some time to regain its value and the development phase of ETH is kept postponing and this makes the value of ETH keep dropping.

It's not time for ETH anymore this year, but overall the market really looks bad, so even other coins have not recovered yet the way it was expected to.
BNB is the king now because of the increase of IEO and they are the most exchange when it comes to IEO.

This could be similar to ETH's time in the past but IEO is more stable as there's less scam in this platform compared to ICO.
So let's just hope ETH could come up with a more exciting news to again attract investors put their money on the coin.
When bitcoin coins starts to recover the rest will just follow and we need ETH, XRP the big ones to start rising.

It seems to me that the main problem of ethereum today is scalability.  Solving this problem is very difficult, because the only method that will correct this situation will lead to a deterioration in the security of Ethereum.  The fact is that a significant part of the Ethereum blockchain is used by USDT, but also the network is crammed with bad Coin that no one needs on the cryptocurrency market.

It is merely because of the dominance it has in the market. BTC has been dominating coin and the king of crypto for a reason, and this is that reason. BTC will always be better than other coins because it is what all started the game of crypto. ETH price will increase and will increase soon, just have patience. I am also holding ETH and expecting it to grow.
I think after a few months ETH price will increase as BTC price will stabilise, maybe by the start of 2020, but all we can do is hope for the best.

Let's not forget that ethereum is also an altcoin and presently the market isn't in favour of altcoin but for ethereum it is a good hold because it has higher percentage of acceptance unlike other altcoins, also remember there is possibility in the space, so ethereum could pull the stunt you least expected.

Irrespective of the fact that Ethereum as well as other altcoins are not fairing well in the market. That not withstanding, Ethereum has to rollout its plan and upgrade its blockchain as quickly as possible to solve its scalability issues. Its getting me and some other like minded enthusiasts pissed

Unfortunately, ETH is doing bad science 2017, because there are no updates on the network. ETH is a good coin, but if Vitalik wants to make it bigger than BTC, their team need to work on marketing and development speed.

I think the reason behind that is people always choice to invest and buy bitcoin because it has a great value rather than eth. So bitcoin continue to rise and eth left down. And now bitcoin still dominating the crypto world. We can say that everything has a right time and this is not the right time for eth. But it doesn't mean that this is the end. Time will come that eth owns the crown.

You are wrong. Ethereum developers are working hard and there is so much happening around the network - see how DeFi has grown in past few months (https://twitter.com/alethioethstats/status/1162426236636938240), EY (https://www.coindesk.com/ey-open-sources-nightfall-code-for-private-transactions-on-ethereum), Microsoft (https://www.coindesk.com/microsoft-releases-ethereum-app-development-kit-for-azure-cloud), Santander (https://cointelegraph.com/news/santander-issues-20-million-end-to-end-blockchain-bond-on-ethereum) - more and more companies are jumping into this train.

Of course there is scalability problem - right now Ethereum network almost reached it's capacity, but dev team is working on that and transition to Ethereum 2.0 will start next year which will hopefuly solve this problem.

its simple, more and more atlcoin and maybe people's interest in ETH is reduced and also the high dominance of BTC makes ETH increasingly destroyed.
I think it would be better for us to wait until ETH 2.0 release in 2020.

Bitcoin dominance is very high which is more than 50% so other coins were very behind and it includes Ethereum but don't lose hope as we didn't know the exact path on what will happen in the following months or year.

If you believe in Ethereum then you can stock now, knowing that the price is very low and you can surely gain a good amount of profit once it will bounce back.

I think it is because of the increase in competition as there are so many Alts right now in the market while there is only one BTC. But I hope that the price will increase by the start of 2020.

due to the reduce numbers of having ICO project the demand of eth are just minimize right now which ICO is running on ETH network. Right now we are in IEO phase which most market use BTC or USDT but dont worry eth will bounce back then BTC is starting to have a bull run

Yes, right you are. However, the "season" of Ethereum might be started close to December 2019, when everybody will start getting ready to Ethereum 2.0. Now, there is no reason for this cryptocurrency to fall or to go up. Simply hold this crypto and wait for 2020 - I am sure that all the holders will win and get the best awards for their patience. Concentrate on other alts now to trade.

You cannot conclude that there are no updates on ethereum, they have had some updates this year, there was an update of Constantinople's, and there is another ethereum 2.0 that they are presently working on, so it is not like they are not coming up with updates, they are just not having the right idea, and their hype has not gotten to the level of bitcoin where it does not need update for it to be announced.

Ethereum needs to be upon running and if they need to get some other team with great idea to join them, they should do so because some projects that I see following them behind might eventually take over them if they are not being careful with the way that they are handling the project, They need to just be more focused and think deeper.

The ETH price is heavily dropped during the bear market. At a point ETH was gained a very good price at sand of 2017 after that its started to drop. There were some reason behind it. One of them is there are many competition in the market. There are coins like eos ada neo trx which is technically better than ETH in some points. Then the transaction in ETH i s very slow and sometimes its costly too. This is one more reason why dapps and user seeing for some alternative.

We are all guessing the price of ethereum and if our guess is not like we expected it seems that we always get discouraged. This year has not really been good for ethereum as we desired it to be. A lot of things have gone wrong which we may not be able to specifically speak about but one thing I know for sure is that eth will definitely pick up again before the end of this year. The way btc picked up again some months ago was greatly surprising to everyone because this year early price was so disgusting. Sometimes, we can guess right how things we turn out to be for btc and altcoins and in other times, our guess may not be right. All the same, let us be hopeful something good coming out of eth soonest.

That's the only development we can expect that will help the price to recover again, but hopefully they will not keep delaying it and if possible it will be launch in the last quarter of this year so we can see a strong run in the last quarter.

For now, I don't want to expect so much but I will continue to believe and hold like I did in the past since ETH although it struggles, wound not be in the number 2 spot if investors does not believe in this project. If we talk about buying at dip, we can always take advantage at its price now.

What happened ??? if bitcoin price is $ 20 000 then ethereum price is only $ 600 ::)

First and foremost, what you need to understand is that back in the years 2016 and 2017, ethereum was paired with Bitcoin on most exchange platforms. This made any increase or decrease in Bitcoin to affect the market value of Ethereum. The introduction of stable coins shifted the exchange pair of ethereum and Bitcoin. Ethereum now has all its pairing on most exchange platform with stable coins. Due to this, the change in the market value of Bitcoin does not directly influence the market value of Ethereum.

There is a time later ethereum price rises back as in the end year 2017, I predict the price of Ethereum will buy to the price $1000 final 2019 and Bitcoin stable at the price of $20000, many investors again waiting for the moment of crypto success from the end of the year 2019 To 2021 upcoming. If Bitcoin is already translucent $20000 then the altcoin will be to the price satisfactory to the investors especially the price of Ethereum will be stable at $1000. Hopefully please be a little patience.
yeah, i hope that will really happen.
i also can't wait to see the market turn green again like a few years ago. i have long been here to wait for the market to fully recover, if it matches what you said. i think my patience will pay off soon.

It is no longer surprising, as ethereum is playing it's role as an altcoin, most altcoins are down, most project also that would have used ethereum network are using other network but one thing is that the demand for ethereum will still be high because it has more popularity over other altcoins, the demand will keep pushing the price high, it's just a matter of time.

2018 to 2019 is a very bad condition for ethereum and other altcoins and of course this is caused by many other ETH and altcoin sales made by traders / investors, so there are now more sales than buying demand so the price of altcoin continues to decline now.
We know that in 2017 many ICO developers get ETH and BTC from selling their project, so, we can imagine if all their ETH or BTC can be at that time they sell in large quantities, is it not  will be make the price of BTC or ETH experience a drastic decrease in prices ?

I think that Ethereum will be able to take 1-3% of domination from Bitcoin by the end of this year. Ethereum is gaining a high level of liquidity!
Many experts have already begun to argue that Ethereum will be more expensive than $ 350 this fall. Until the end of the year, the price for a coin is expected to be 500-800 dollars. I am now starting to buy Ethereum for the long term.

Bitcoin is dominating the crypto market with almost 70 percent share of it. Lately, price of altcoins is not rising on a par with bitcoin. But when price of bitcoin falls, price of altcoins also falls but at double rate. So they are altcoins which are facing a double whammy. I think Ethereum is also facing this situation.

Things have changed so much from the last post of the O.P. Eth is such in a good place and pace right now. It has more development and tech changes compared to its elder brother, BTC. ERC-20 is so good, that a lot of startups are using it for their reward system and payment platform (http://apm-coin.com/?utm_source=lx). The price has shown such an upward trend and this is without staking and 2.0 alone. It's more of current projects integrating themselves on the Ethereum blockchain to help drive its price up.

First of all, the main purpose of Ethereum is for smart contract platforms and therefore its exchange prices and acceptability can depend heavily upon the success of various ICOs and IEOs. The amazing success of the ICOs during 2017 took the Ether exchange rates from less than $10 per coin to around $1,500 per coin (an increase of 150x). But as the ICO market disintegrated, the Ether exchange rates also crashed.

It's not only the struggling ICO-market that affects ETH. Also the successful ICOs of 2017 are a reason why ETH declined. The projects back then raised hundreds of thousand of ether and the ICO-projects converted all these ETH to fiat.

So far, I do not see additional liquidity for Ethereum. I think that competition among platforms will increase. Many projects may move to the Binance platform or EOS.

yes it seems this year the attraction of binance and ethereum might not be seen so much because some projects from ethereum are also many scams. whereas on the binance platform more and more projects are using it. but we don't know what will happen next year, hopefully there will be surprises from ETH and some other coins.

Mainly it is because of bitcoin dominance right now, as we can see in the graph that the bitcoin dominance is dominating the whole market thats why most of the altcoins dumped so hard. But lets wait for the bitcoin to be stable and its dominance will go down then its time for eth and altcoin markets to recover from bear market.

There are other factors as well, such as the high transaction fee and security issues. On top of that, Vitalik wants to rush through Ethereum 2.0, which will increase the security risk manifold. They need to scale down their future plans, or at least slow them down. This is necessary in order to take care of the existing issues in a proper manner.

In the last few months Ethereum price was so bad but now the price is back to normal. The current price of each ETH is $215. I think it will continue to up because it's ber months like what happens last year and year 2017. What do you think?

September 2019 ETH shows in the price chart a difference from the BTC chart.  At a BTC price of $ 10,000 - $ 11,000 and for a month does not break through not lower not upper mark.  ETH, in turn, for the same period shows an increase from the mark of $ 166 09/09/2019 to $ 227 09/09/2019, and this is a large percentage growth for ETH.  Cryptocurrency is not predictable, of course, you can make any forecasts, but the influence of external factors also has a big impact on the market, and it is impossible to predict it.

Ethereum is starting growing again with other altcoins, even though Bitcoin falls. Maybe this is the right time to buy altcoins that show they're not dead! Altseason begins?!

When ETH went down to $ 80 at the end of last year, it was the best time for investors to buy and hold. I believe in the next few months ETH will go up to $ 1000 and many people will have a lot of profits when holding ETH

What happened ??? if bitcoin price is $ 20 000 then ethereum price is only $ 600 ::)

yes it must be more than $600+

ETH is not going to stop growing anymore because there are a number of reasons, for example Bitcoin has started to fall, ETH has a positive news background and people have started to invest in ETH

Same as all other crypto ETH also have the ability to increase in price I know last year the price was down and now id will take time to again recover. 210$ is low price to sell a coin we know crypto like ETH is famous so I hope after few years this price is gona be double we only should wait and have patience we should wait to let ETH recover faster.

Before, ETHEREUM having a vry best demand due to the use of ICO, investors are buying ETH and invest to the project and the team surely keep it good.
2018 onwards as many projects were scammed, team run with the ETH and sell it in the market to make it FIAT which destroys the price.

The math does not work here, at the moment eth does not have such a news background as then in 2017 - 2018, then everything grew in principle, but eth showed the best dynamics, note that everything also fell, not only one eth, of course, many top10 coins fell less than eth, but this is because the eth bubble was too inflated, unlike other coins.

We can't guess why eth price movements are getting weaker now compared to the relatively very stable  of bitcoin prices in the last few months, basically bitcoin has an influence on altcoin price movements in the market, but of course it doesn't really have a significant effect in my opinion, the decline in altcoin prices especially eth at this time is caused by demand and supply factors, the more buying demand that occurs will certainly make eth prices continue to rise, and vice versa if many sell eth, we can be sure prices will drop dramatically for example in 2017 where world investors began to make bitcoin as their priority in investing, so at that time investors started buying bitcoin in large quantities, and this automatically made bitcoin prices higher and in 2018 many investors began to sell their bitcoins because they were influenced by negative news that circulating the ban bitcoin circulates in several countries, and this automatically makes the price of Bitcoin and altcoin go down quickly.
In 2018 the price of 1 bitcoin (BTC) is equivalent to 6,610.10 US dollars. This figure is down 49.87% compared to the end of 2017 amounted to 13,187.60 US dollars. At that time, the price of ethereum dropped 70,92% from $722.41 / 1 ETH to $210.07 / 1 ETH.

possible market correction, usually if a coin has experienced a high price increase it will certainly experience a price decline below. this is the nature of crypto, so keep calm let alone ethereum altcoin top, I'm sure they still have a chance to return to the highest price again.

I can't verify this 5 percent price ratio to BITCOIN unless someone resourceful verifies this but if this is true, it might have to do with fewer coins we had at that time as compared to the thousand of coins we have today that bitcoin trades with and has diluted it's value.
Possibly the number of Ethereum tokens could also be the reason for the fall of its crypto command in terms of power or simply because we have better coins on the market that has cut though Eth.
AFAIK the number of

The effect of IEO on ETH is not too much, because projects that use IEO to raise funds, they also use the ETH platform in their tokens, meaning that ETH is still trusted by most crypto lovers, both falling prices and rising prices.

This shows that altcoins are more risky investment with possible high returns. But you knew that before you invested in altcoins, didn't you?
What does it mean? Again, if you invest now, you can get higher return, but also you can loose more than if you invested in Bitcoin.

participants had invested via the ETH detour is over. this led to the huge volume and the price increase. ;)

The Ether prices have once again breached the crucial support levels. A few minutes back, the 0.02 BTC level was breached and as of now the exchange rate is hovering at around 0.01996 - 0.01997 BTC per coin. This is going to be a huge dampener for the altcoin fans. When ETH suddenly spiked 30% (against BTC) during the last two weeks, I had warned that it was not going to last. And now my prediction came true.

ETH may undergo temporary spikes, which may energize its users. But unless there is a solid improvement in the basics, the prices are not going to recover completely. First of all, ETH needs a resurgence in the ICO market. Unless Ether is widely used as a smart contract platform, its exchange rate is not going to rise. And secondly, they should resolve the issue of high transaction fee. This might be difficult to believe for the experienced users, but a few days back the daily transaction fee of the Ethereum network surpassed that of Bitcoin!!!
