I'm currently here for long term, this market is pretty young and totally undervalued, hope to see a very massive mainstream adoption that will cause a an increase in market capitalisation and coin value.

Yes we are but some have accepted their lose and run away from this market. As a real believers of cryptocurrency and im here for long term or even forever.
Crypto gives more opportunity than another market like i can get various features and access to the ico market, crypto payment system, crypto service instantly without any verification that you will get it when you are using real life service like stock market.

I wont deny that I do have big losses back in the past but I do already moved on.For now I'm not really longing for long term aspect excluding with Bitcoin
but for ALTS? I'm not hoping too much and talking about next market cycle? It would happen for sure it depends on a certain person if he do still goes for long term or just short term but on my situation I do already stick out on shorting and not minding too much on future.

If people here still discussing about the betterment of crypto currency means they believe that crypto currency prices will increase in the coming years, few might give up due to huge loss but when they want to be an investor they need to face these kind of situations.

all these people would want to invest long-term, regardless of whether they are losing or making profits now and so am I. I really do not hold Altcoin for the long term. but I'm always here to trade crypto. as long as I look, chances are I'll buy it. and sell when the coins make a profit.

I've definitely accepted my crypto losses and took them as lessons. I'm certain most of us are waiting for the next altcoin bullrun, but we have to keep ourselves busyin the meantime. When a person is idle, that is when it is as if the time is going so slowing. This is the time to read more, create things and interact with others.

I've accepted already my losses since 2018 and luckily to control my emotion of not selling during those times. At first I thought that the market will take more time to recover but we are now seeing the progress positively. I'm here for long term and I'm very positive that there will be a better price for the coins that I hold. Someone who just gave up to this market can't take it for a long term hold but if you have done your research and knows the potential of cryptocurrency, you'll hold the good coins for long term.

Staying in crypto currency in the long term is not a child’s play; but very achievable
All you have to do is simply remember to hodl valuables such as bitcoin and etherum, etc

Then remember that cashing out while in profit is vital; as well as understanding the vulnerability that comes with hodling

Defeats are not easily accepted, except you see yourself as a failure. Some situations should not be strange to us, most especially when it comes to investing in cryptocurrency. It's volatile is one very crucial aspect we should always remember.
My loses were expected and so I have let go and starting anew version has helped in bringing recovery.

I'm still enjoying the profits I made last time and my current holdings aren't doing too bad either.
I'm not just going to my cryptocurrency sit somewhere, I actually do use them and tend to invest in a lot of POS projects.

Definitely in it for the long term, I've been into crypto since 2012 and I'm not going anywhere.

One thing is very important and we all should be very clear that regarding any investment especially the one we make in any financial market including crypto market, patience is the most important thing and we all should be in for the long term to see significant gains, short term gains or pumps and dumps strategy has already failed so wise people are in for long haul.

At this point, I'm here for the very long term it's no longer for the long term because it's been longer than I imagined. Waiting the storm out is all I can do truth be told alts will keep having shake outs every now and then their season is far.

In the fall of 2018, I made the most difficult decision for myself, which was very difficult to make and start to implement. For a long time I could not sell my altcoins falling in price, and when I did this it became much easier for me.
Now I store money in Bitcoin and several high-value altcoins.
When the new growth of altcoins begins, I will probably invest in them again, but only when I see that growth is in full swing.

No one ever love in a long term strategy, I always make this method everytime when the market is very affordable like what i did in the first quarter of 2019 were almost altcoins are declining. so I've got invested in bitcoin and altcoins in different terms.

I'm still here for the next crypto bull market  8) I think we can wait patiently if we can afford to lose what we spend.
The problem is, we never know when it will happening. As long we buy some coins with low price, then we will have higher chance to sell it higher.
Or to hold it for long term to gain more profit overtime.

Oh no, I am still holding until now and did not want to accrept defeat. There is still hopes and the crypto market is volatile and we knew that since the beginning. That is how things goes and as a long term investor, panic selling even in losses is not the right thing to do. Patiently waiting for the pump even for so many months is better than to sell it in a deficit amount.

I've always been here for the long-term. I'm convinced that crypto will become a part of everyday life, and will have a huge effect on every market sector. Smart contracts in particular offer massive potential. I suspect we won't see real advancement and adoption starting until we have proper widespread IoT, which should hopefully be kickstarted by the incoming 5G network. It seems like crypto has been around for a long time already, but really we are still in the early days.

I am still for long term as i am losing too. I am still learning everyday about trading and about new coins. It is a forced long term strategy. But i have doubts about the current cryptocurrencies being used in real life. They are more going to stay for speculators or for fun. Banks have their own technology for replacing credit cards. Maybe they are already using some kind of blockchain which is pegged to fiat currencies. And they don't accept current cryptocurrencies. Governements and banks want the total control of the economical system.

I'm definitely in crypto for the long run and not just to gain profits. Getting profits is a bonus but building the future with crypto/blockchain should be the mindset of the people. A content creation (https://www.contentos.io/?utm_source=lx) platform got listed in Binance with donating a huge amount of tokens to a Blockchain Charity. That goes to show how some projects are so dedicated in mass adoption and at the same time, a good move by Binance to list a token with an actual product already.

I have been around here for quite a while already. And despite all the dumps and losses and bad days in this world of cryptocurrency, I remain very positive about its longer future. And so there's no reason why after a few years of rise and fall in this wild wild west I just quit and give up. There was sure a lot of fun in all those years. And there will be more in the years to come. In spite of all the bear and bull cycles and seasons, crypto is here to dominate in the long run.

Every market has their own cycle. Stocks, bonds, crypto. Every market is doing it ;). Its only a matter of how patient  you are.

For me since I know that they have their own cycle, I'm still waiting for the next market cycle of crypto. I'm still holding my coins even though I'm at a loss especially those altcoins that I bought last year. Most of my portfolio are still in Bitcoin though. Around 60-70%

I still believe that cryptocurrency is a long-term investment. Maybe there are some coins that I hold falling in price and value, but if you look at the prospects of the product and developer team that continues to develop the project, I think long-term investment is the best choice.
Of course long-term investment will be the best option. But when you are in the downtrend period, you need to have patience and wait. If you are too hot to sell and sell everything, you will surely fail

Yes, I still waiting for the next cryptocurrency market cycle, although I don't know when it will come. I only believe that time will come soon and I am sure that many people are doing the same thing as me. I can accept my losses before and now, I try to survive to make a profit again although I know that is not easy for me. I don't want to give up while I see the market now has trying to increase again and I hope that this year or next year can be the best time for cryptocurrency to increase.

I believe in cryptocurrency and intend remaining in the industry for a long time, this is because, the industry has what it takes to give me the opportunity to explore and it does not require so much effort. Cryptocurrency is here to stay and in no distant time there would be mass adoption which would lead to the revolution of the financial industry.

The future can be good or can be bad no one knows only a matter of how you trust the projects that you are going to support, being optimistic most of the time played well and bring decent as long as you are willing to take the risk and you can handle possible loses to have, learned deep and invest where your trust are, success will be there for those who can afford to wait for the market bull momentum.

There's no doubt that cryptocurrency has a long way to go in achieving the mass adoption, but I'm of the opinion that its achievable. The world is fast changing and there's continous innovation which is majorly to bring about increase in satisfaction of users through more convenient applications of technology.

only a few of you can get out with a profit at the moment. so who's there now either invested early enough or didn't invest at all. who entered 1-2 years ago probably only generated losses. ;)

waiting patiently is a very good strategy if you have earnings outside of the cryptocurrency market. if you can invest in the market every month 2-3 thousand dollars, then by the  2023 you will become a very rich person

Every people who are with perfect learning about the market will always have a long-term focus on profit making. Now I hold sold almost all my holdings on need. My focus was for 2020, and with what I've in my wallet there is nothing to profit by 2020. With this once again gonna make a long term focus with a small fund being invested every month.

If we are talking about cryptocurrencies, I'm definitely for the long term. I may have lost money due to trading and gambling, but crypto, especially Bitcoin, has already been a part of my life and added to my additional income. I'm glad to have discovered and been part of this community in bitcointalk.

As long as there are ways to use Bitcoin as a way to transact, I would continue using it. I hope everyone is up for that as well.

The only chance to recover my money by waiting for the bull trend.

I'm here for long term since there are some coins I'm holding for a future purpose since I believe in their project vision.  As a trader I understand sometimes the market is favorable, other times it's unfavorable, but this doesn't mean I will quit my crypto hustle, I believe crypto enthusiasts will smile in the long run.  However, I'm so conscious about risk management in this crypto space hence I only hold coins with great project development.

If I'm to compare my fiat spending and my crypto prices, I'm still in profit. But I've also lost about 90% of my crypto value (calculating ATH of the coins I held at that time) for my own mistakes. Sometimes I bought some promising new tokens with all my crypto holdings and made a huge loss or sometimes I rage gambled my coins to lose almost all of it.

I am not a big fan of the altcoins and around 90% of my portfolio is made up of Bitcoin. And half of the remainder is made up of Bitcoin Cash. So altcoins only make up around 1/20th of my portfolio value. That said, I am not selling any of my altcoins right now. I have ETH, ONION, BSD, GBYTE.etc in my wallet, and for now I am holding them for long-term.

This waiting period really made us very pure and very clear on what we really want in Crypto.  Doing long-term investment will really stretched your faith and patience. The good thing about this is that while we wait, we are learning something that will really prepare us on handling great wealth. Just be patient and hope for the best.

Why cut losses now? Isn't the market condition getting better if we compare it 3 months ago? You should cut losses when last year where bitcoin fell. I think it's wrong to have to cut losses now, it's better to be patient and wait for the target in 2020 because I'm sure the price will jump even further. You will not be a pro trader if you cannot maintain your trade, indeed not all must be maintained but I think you are wrong if you have to cut losses now.

Good question, personally though, I think two years max would be consider as long term, but this is just me. But for all likelihood, four years could be good as well, specially that bitcoin works in a four year cycle. And another thing as well, the mental toughness of four years HODL, damn !!! ;D

I believe bitcoin is still the dominant coin that is good for long-term investment. Every other altcoin is derived one way or another from btc. Even ordinary individuals know the existence of bitcoin, but try to ask them for other altcoins, and they will wonder what you are talking about.

I always believe in holding and long term investment. This is the way we can sit tension free not watching market moves everyday and over a period of time when receives good return can sell.
But here in the cryptocurrency environment, I am not much confident about altcoins because don't know what will be the future of it.

Well, I knew what I was going into before I signed up for it so I don't see any reason why I need to back down now, a lot of people have given up on crypto and loss focus because they never made the right research before making their investment decision, this set of people just enter into the crypto market with the goal of making lots of profit and pulling off the market immediately, but are now stocked in the market and nothing else to do than pull off, this is just a lesson to the newbies coming into the market.

I'm currently here for longterm. The question now is, which coin is best for a long term? As for me, btc is my long term coin.
Your answer must be the perfect one and I believe almost everyone here would be agreeing with that. Some one year back people were thinking about ETH along with BTC but now most people started thinking of holding only BTC.

Quote
Being thinking of which other coin is good for a long term too.
There could be some good altcoins but I am afraid none of them will sustain for long term. LTC is here for long time but never scale like how ETH did up to 0.12 BTC. So, some coin may sustain but may not grow on its own value.

Don't store your money for investing if you afraid to lose, investment is high risk to store your money. Even you store them into cryptocurrency which is known have a high volatile price you will not comfortable on it. Choose bank account to store your money but you will not get anything although you store them in a few years. I guess, something that must be known by some people when they start to invest is they are willing to lose their money, that is the  main risk in investment place.

All investors/new comers need a knowledge when they start to invest, most of them who leave in lose situation are they who didn't know the knowledge of investment itself. So, I'll answer your question based on my knowledge, I won't leave my investment in cryptocurrency although my money has been reducing for almost a half. I'll stay until the price altcoins that I choose goes up again and I'll sell them when I got profit. That is my strategy to store my money into cryptocurrency.

No one has a choice than to stay long term depending on your entry point into any coin you bought ! Other options is to day trade and take project at intervals , this depends on your trading capital ! But if you want massive profit then you need to go long term !

are you guys still waiting for the next cryptocurrency market cycle ? or some of you just accepted your losses ?
It is not over until it is over, before I can accept my losses in any coin, until I see that such coin has zeroed already or has exited the exchange, but provided they are still breathing even if their value is low, I will still continue to breathe along with them also. I am in a long term trade with some of my coins and so far that I have tied the investment to a long term project, I will always keep it that way.

If I need to make quick money, what I just do is to do short term trade with coins that can give me instant benefit like bitcoin, if you look at the type of investment that I have, I could say that it is divided into 2 segment, one of my investment in bitcoin is for a long term trade which I would never pull out until I see a positive result while the second part is for a short term trade that I use trade every day to make my daily living.

My longterm holding starts right after the last bullrun which means that i started investing in crypto in 2018 when bear market take over,so i think i still have a long way to go,im planing to hold for like 4years to see what will happen and if profit comes any time i will be glad to sell my holdings.

Since i build my portfolio in bear market im not really in huge loss by now and i just start promoting bounties as well and i will like to hold some tokens for future sake,i think 2020 will bring smile to the faces of holders like me

Everyone has their own motivation. Many people believe for a quick enrichment and profit. I came here for long-term storage, because I believe in cryptography and blockchain. I mainly invest in ether and btc. Because accumulating bank deposits for long-term storage are also associated with risks .This is good in stable countries with developed economies. For weak countries and countries waging local wars, investments in cryptocurrency are more reliable. And another aspect. It concerns mainly women, this is one way to maintain financial independence and earns without prejudice to family concerns.

Trading all those I earned but I have kept some BTC that I'm still up for the long term. I guess I did  some very wrong decisions during the last bullrun and paid a price. I'm still holding on to the project I think will still matter once the market resumes. I'm not seeing it happening again but I can wait for more than 10 years or so after all I can still support myself thru my day job.

I am still here after getting rekted or even after getting hacked because I know digital currency is our future. We are going to leave behind physical cash and will move on to the digital world, price and volatility are just point plus for me. Nothing to worry about if you are sure and confident it is going to be your future. It is all about the choice.

To me, in the long term, short term words aren't available in my dictionary. I am in the crypto platform forever! I admit that sometimes we lost huge money, I lost 15K USD in a year but that couldn't stop me. Because I knew, if I work hard then I can gain them again through the cryptocurrency-related tasks!

I am a long term crypto holder. I will take only quality and highly popular cryptos to my portfolio and waill for long term. Should not be bothered about short term up and downs.

I'm here for the long term, trying to get as much BTC as possible and currently I have 4 altcoins in my portfolio

It's very, very important to have solid altcoins, with real usage and future, if you guys are buying cryptos only waiting to gain 10x, 50x, 100x, it's very hard to reach this, keep in mind, only a few people can gain 100x, and most of the times are lucky

I really do hold some amount of coins which have high potential in the future and I'm in for long term investment because I know the worth of these coins. I'm trying to get many profitable coins to hold as possible especially bitcoin so I can make profits later in future.
