Title: How much your are paying for your internet data?
Post by: playboy654 on August 07, 2019, 05:46:40 PM
I am feeling bored today so want to know something about all around the world so here is about to know how much the data cost in your country and what speed you are getting it.

My currently bill for 6GB 4g data comes with the price of $1.5 and the maximum speed I am getting is 100Mbps or 10MB/s.

I have unlimited access for 4G data for around 5.5$ per month. Maximum speed is 40 Mbit/s or 5Mb/s.

I used to be on a high speed fibre link, and it is possible to read other people's traffic on the same bit of cable. It doesn't seem to be any more secure than public WiFi if you take sensible precautions. Also people tend to have their own WiFi connections in their homes, and these are easy to tap into.

I should have included the data plan that is included with my unlimited call mobile phone plan. This gives me 15Gb of data to use whilst I am parked on the beach. I pay £25 per month for that, and periodically they double the data allowance. Connection speed varies a lot, and seems to be dependent on the number of people who are sending pictures of the gulls to their family, and the proximity of the nearest mast.

Currently I pay 35€ for 300 Mbps Fibre.

I used to pay 1€/Gb with 4G internet.  Fibre is much better and comes a little cheaper with my use.

Fibre installation didn't cost anything, but was very hard to get (probably because it doesn't cost anything here)

I don't have experience with fibre link internet yet because it was not available on the distant places from the cities yet in my country.I read that chances of leaking our passwords while using unsecured wifi is high so I just suggested.

Nothing, because I use public WiFi.
You should be cautious that connecting to public wifi is risky. There are other people who can connect to it that can scout others who are connected to that network.

I've watched the video about that and I think it's really risky.

Right, https://www.zdnet.com/article/new-dragonblood-vulnerabilities-found-in-wifi-wpa3-standard/

So everything here is now at risk, criminals will always find a way to steal other people's money. So we need to be very very careful specially in public places.

Before I wasn't aware of that and I'm a total ignorant about my security whenever I use the public wifi. It's free and it's one of the benefits that a service can give from hotel, malls, stores, etc.

But after learning that there's a security measure that I should be aware of, good thing that I stopped connecting to them. You may connect if you want but use a device that doesn't have important details, information, contacts and data.

I use Airtel 3G browsing service with an average daily rate of 0.75GB at 1.38$
It is a pay as you go service
They have daily, weekly, monthly subscription. I do subscribe for monthly bundle but it only last me about two days. So in a Month I made multiple subscription.

Nothing, because I use public WiFi.

Be careful. Many people have had their crypto wallets, credit card accounts and passwords hacked because they used a public WiFi.
