Slovenian first football division is interesting for betting. It's quite predictable and there are only 10 teams so you can quickly get to know them and follow the news for all of them.

I will post my predictions here and keep track of statistics. Odds will be from Bet365 and I will also indicate how confident I am in my prediction by stating Stake out of 10 units. 10/10 means I'm very confident, 5/10 means I'm partly confident and I will place bet with half the money compared to 10/10 bet.


Tip 1
Triglav - Mura 17:30 local time
Both teams to score, Yes @1.50 Stake 8/10
Triglav likes Mura's style of play, winning both home games in last season. Triglav's last 5 games all ended in "Both teams to score" and all of them also in Over 2.5 goals. Mura finished high above Triglav last season so they will surely score at least one goal too.

Maribor - Tabor Sezana 20:15
Correct score 2-0 @5.50 Stake 1/10
Most likely result, but don't bet too much as it's risky obviously.
EDIT: I made mistake and wrote 2-1, but I meant 2-0 that's why the odds were 5.50 even before I edited. Odds for 2-1 are higher.

Small leagues like these are predictable it is true but it is also true that from these kind of leagues we see great surprises happening,Olimpia and Maribor which are strong teams in the last games of last year they did not manage to win not one but some matches.

I made mistake at Tip 2 and wrote Correct Score 2-1, but I meant 2-0 that's why the odds were 5.50 even before I edited. Odds for 2-1 are higher.

Predictable as it is there are times that matches like this can still change its outcome but prediction such as these are very welcome to the community and it is a free one as well, Well it's pretty obvious that both teams would surely score that for sure because I also think that both teams are equal enough in my opinion, And thanks for this tip and I have read some other tips on some site that both teams can sure take a score, But I am adding up that mura will win this I think, and I am also predicting that the final score will be 3 - 1 in favor of mura that is, Well I am just sharing up some prediction that I have heard and think that the outcome will be like this, So good luck to all.

It was nothing It was you who predicted it firsthand and if it wasn't for you posting this and tipping some info about it I would not gonna see this at all, So thank you but if you would look at it the Tip 1 Tiglav Vs Mura match was an easy prediction for having a stake of 8/10 and like I said I had a little help with some other tips on other sites that is why I had a conclusion about the final score, However, Tip 2 is a hard one having a stake of 1/10 I can not Squish any information at all and having any conclusion about the fight so I didn't take any chances.

Mura showed beautiful attacking football in their last game scoring 3 away from home. Rudar is still waiting for their first win in new season (7 games, no wins **well they won yesterday but only after extra time) and they will need to wait for easier opponent than Mura. Also Rudar played cup game during the week while Mura is rested. I would choose Full time result-Mura if odds were better but 1.66 is too low (bet365). Slovenian bookie has 1.80 on Mura.

Match of the top of the league. Olimpija needs to win this to secure No. 1 spot. Their last game was away against Rudar and they won 3:0. Aluminij played 1:1 at home against the same opponent. Olimpija should win but I'll take the safer option of Draw no bet and maximum stake.

Following you this weekend, Swordsoffreedom. I prefer William Hill over bet365 but there is no "Draw no bet" option for this league. If anyone else have this problem, let me show you a little trick how you can place "Draw no bet" using normal Match Result picks.

Let's say we want to bet $10 on Mura draw no bet. So in case of a tie we want our $10 back.
Odds on William Hill are: home 1.70, draw 3.80, away 4
First you bet on draw. You should stake $10/3.8 = $2.63
Then you place the remaining amount on home side (Mura) so $10 - $2.63 = $7.37
If Mura wins, you get $7.37 x 1.70 = 12.53
This means the odds for Draw no bet are 1.25 effectively. Which is considerably lower then 1.33 on bet365. Strange because often times William Hill has higher odds.

I am of the idea that whenever we play draw no bet it is better to place two separate bets and make our choice like you did betting more money on the option which have more chances to win in this case on Mura.

This can be done in many other leagues but so far it has not resulted a long running success,if you are careful on what you choose to bet on with this strategy you may go far away in your winnings.

I watched the match Sezana-Triglav and Sezana wasn't really convincing against out-of-form Triglav. Triglav hit the post, it was quite balanced game although Sezana won that game. Olimpija is much stronger.

I am really happy that I found a thread about the Slovenian League.
Also I will give you a tip.
I have noticed that the majority of those games end up in Over @2,5 goals scored. It is always a good strategy to bet for that in Slovenian games.

I see that your stats are improving so this is a good thing and I think if you be consistent and do not give up I think that in these low performance leagues games are more predictable than major leagues.

Slovenia is currently in second place in the Group G  and only defeat against Austria. But when Macedonia away to Slovenia home, they can steal 1 points when they draw 1-1 against Slovenia. now the match is held Macedonia home, it looks like both teams will score again and at least over 1.5 goals

You got the first one, and the result of the second one is a little bit shocking for me, I was expecting Maribor to win too...
The only one scored for Maribor (Luka Zahovic) was almost a failed one  :o, from few meters from the goal  ;D
The first goal of Tabor, the very early one is a classic futsal action, and the third goal is simply amazing... looking at the replay it's like I am watching Barcelona's play from few years ago

Shocking result in Sezana. Some people on the forum suggested it could be a fixed match, Maribor letting Sezana win by more then 1 goal. But I doubt it. Maribor desperately needs points. But their players looked uninterested, not motivated. I will avoid them in next round against Celje.

Correct me if I'm wrong, is your tot balance since this topic is running +12.06 right?
It's a great result for a ~2 months betting on one league (SLO)

How is it possible for Maribor to lose with so many goals conceded?
They do not play very well and Olympia Lubljiana is going to have an easy way of winning the league. Alumini is very close but I don't think that they can compete for the title.

It was +11.43 until past weekend, but then Maribor lost and this cost me 8 units. I was pretty confident in this bet so I decided for rather large stake. Bad decision.
So now I'm at +6.48. Thanks for the compliment. It's not huge, but any profit in betting is something to be respected. Bookmakers have an edge so it's not so easy to beat them.



Could be many reasons. Sezana scored some beautiful (also lucky) goals, maybe Maribor underestimated opponent because they are newcomers in First League. Time will tell if Maribor is really in such bad form, or this game was only a coincidence.

Tabor Sezana - Rudar 1-1 Tabor Sezana dominated as expected. Had twice as much shots and cornes as Rudar. However Rudar scored the first goal and Sezana wasn't able to come from behind and take a win.

Mura - Olimpija 3-1 Equalised game but Mura's shots were more accurate. Underdog won. I wasn't sure about the winner but I expected both teams to score which turned out to be better decision than betting on Olimpija.

That match was suspicious and I don't believe Triglav suddenly transformed. Aluminij has very good stats against Triglav when playing at home. Anything but home win would be a great surprise.

Rudar Velenje - Dob
Rudar is a team from first Slovenian league, Dob in second league. I'm waiting for bet365 (looks like this match is only on bet365 and 1xbet) to offer handicap. If they don't, I will bet on HT/FT Rudar/Rudar @1.57
Although Rudar is firmly in the last place of first league, they are not playing as bad as the table suggests. They scored many goals against top teams in Slovenia, their last game before winter break was a 1-1 draw against Maribor. They won a friendly few days ago with 8-1! They are definitely taking this match more serious than Dob.

Game was cancelled. But there are many friendly matches involving Slovenian teams in the coming days so expect some tips here.

As promised, I'm giving you one betting suggestion for friendly match. It's Rijeka - Triglav Kranj and kick off is tomorrow 14:00 UTC time (15:00 local time).
It will be played in neutral venue in Umag although Umag is much closer to Rijeka than to Kranj. Rijeka is 3rd in Croatian league while Triglav Kranj is 7th in Slovenian league which is one level lower in quality. Rijeka has only two more friendly games before their league continues on February 01 so they will surely take these games seriously. Triglav has one month till league starts so they will experiment more and try new players which they have many.

Result 7-0 for Rijeka. I didn't expect such massacre but I did expect Rijeka to win by 3 or more goals. Too bad there was no handicap option before the match. But you could bet handicap during the match.
There will be more similar friendly matches where bookmakers don't know how big the quality difference is between two different countries and leagues so they set odds unrealistically.

Cool graphics, big_daddy. The Triglav mountain, 7 goals, everything on point :)

But my tip for today is Triglav Kranj to win. They are playing against amateur team from 3rd league, NK Brinje Grosuplje. Triglav started preparations earlier and played more friendly games during the winter break.
There is only one reason why I'm not so confident in this bet - Triglav plays 2 games today so some of players from first team will play the early game against NK Sava and the other players against NK Brinje.
Despite this I expect comfortable win with handicap. Available at bet365, MarathonBet and WilliamHill
