Title: Noob here, Need information for CPU mining
Post by: Little Mouse on August 11, 2019, 04:18:09 PM
I'm totally a newbie in mining. Only have read some articles regarding mining.
I'm interested in CPU mining since it's easy as far as I know. However I have zero knowledge on it.

What equipments do I need in CPU mining?
How can I start CPU mining?

Same things as you need to GPU mining,  minus the GPU  ;D, all other hings are the same.
Some software and some pools on which you will be mining.

Or just install NiceHash and see what can you get with your configuration for starters, you will soon get info about how much cents or dollars you can get per day.

After that you can play with solo mining and some particular coins without btc conversion.

Start the miner and see how many hashes your processor gives out, then open the mining calculator and specify the speed, so you will be exact profit. nicehash is not very

Keep in mind that you won't have profits with CPU mining, unless you have free electricity, but if you want to learn, look for monero mining
You can mining with you CPU and it's relatively easy, if you like you can search for another coins and get more coins

Or just install nicehash and let the program do everything for you

As stated above you need a CPU (https://github.com/tpruvot/cpuminer-multi) miner. You could also find 3rd party services that let you mine from your browser, give google a shot with the word webminer (https://www.google.com/search?q=webminer) to find out more about it.

CPU mining is the easiest because everybody has a CPU but its also the least profitable way to mine. You won't make any profit what so ever from it.

If you got a desktop, chances are you got a free x16 slot, so go on eBay or Craislist and buy a cheap 2nd hand RX 470 4GB GPU for like $75 and plug it in.

Then go and download CLaymore ETH miner and start mining. You will make like $0.25 per day based on 10 cent power costs. See how you like it.

If you get hooked then you can buy more GPUs, Power supplies, motherboards and have your house filled with them.

CPU minable coins comes with instructions on how to mine them. Specially on their discord server. And also on the hardware side you really need to test your CPU hashrate when you are mining. Mine with profit not mine with no point of mining at all, and also if your CPU hashrate is too low try to mine it with pools.

You need only CPU, preferably not from a laptop.
And you need either free electricity, either a good hearth, because CPU mining usually is unprofitable. It is probably good start for learning though.

For CPU Mining go with Monero or Loki. Just don't mine on laptop.

On current Monero's algo, Cryptonight-R: https://monerobenchmarks.info/
For RandomX: https://randomx.monerobenchmarks.info/index.php

For hardware part you need to a working computer with an internet connection. For software part you would need a cpuminer or project's wallet.

For CPU mining if you just want to try , one Core i5 from gen 3 or above would show you how it works. You also need a wallet which can offer the option to mine from there,if I remember correctly Bytecoin is one coin like that.

If you want to mine to make some money, you need at least some computers and some Xeon or Threadrippers processors.Keep in mind that mining is not profitable at the moment unless you have a cheap electricity cost.
