Title: BLOCKCHAIN IN THE FUTURE
Post by: bestBTCdomains on August 13, 2019, 01:36:39 AM
Lets get a High IQ thread going here.

What will blockchain look like in 2030? What will have failed? What will still be in existence? What portion of govs will utilize the blockchain? What things do you think will happen that might surprise us?

1. 90% of current existing projects would be dead or almost dead; though new projects would come up
2. The government probably already bent the knee to bitcoin
3. Bitcoin will still be the dominant cryptocurrency
4. Lightning Network would already be used commonly

don't confuse "blockchain" with "cryptocurrency". blockchain is simply a "chain of blocks" and it will continue to look exactly the same. there will be blocks that will be "linked" together, one after another line a chain using some cryptography function which is usually a 256-bit hash function.
that is the cryptocurrencies that are using that chain like a database and keep on changing. it is not possible to predict how they will look like because you are asking us to predict what innovation is going to happen, if we could predict the "innovation" then we would have innovated it ourselves!

Its only 11 years into the future. Bitcoin will be there, make no mistake. A few projects here and there would be using a blockchain and perhaps decentralized nodes for things not coin, like maybe an ID system or such.

Surprise?, I don't know. I think someone will make a quantum crypto algo coin at some point if at least in theory as most quantum computing programs currently are. Perhaps some country officially adopting bitcoin as parallel currency? That would be great.

There's no way you can know what exactly will happen in 11 years even if you have 1000 IQ. Data is simply not enough to judge how the future looks like so at best guess you can 'imagine' the next 5 years or so.

Your question has now become more or less 'what do you think will happen' that will likely be answered by 'i think blabablabla' posts.

What will blockchain look like in 2030?
No one knows but it's either there will be a new technology that will come up and it's going to be the upgrade of blockchain. Otherwise, blockchain shall remain as it is right now.

What will have failed?
Projects that are not serious with its adoption and use.

What will still be in existence?
Bitcoin would be and those private companies that finds big use for the tech.

What portion of govs will utilize the blockchain?
I think voting?

What things do you think will happen that might surprise us?
Most gov't starts giving privilege and talks about blockchain and bitcoin.

First, the "Blockchain" is not the same "Bitcoin", there is no guarantee for Bitcoin tomorrow.
But for Blockchain, there have been many blockchain applications in health, transportation, and education being deployed.
I think if there is a change to the Blockchain, it will be an upgrade.

Many sectors in industry will fully integrate blockchain technology into their businesses, some of the industries include automotive, banking & financial, government, healthcare, insurance, media & entertainment, retail & consumer goods, travel & transportation, intellectual property. The government will widely use blockchain technology for various applications such as voting & there will be a blockchain identity management system in place which will help protect people's privacy & information.

What will blockchain look like in 2030?

Blockchain will still be the same in my opinion in 2030, I guess there isn't much change with the technology of Blockchain there might be other business and companies that are using it by that time but it will still be Blockchain.

What will have failed?

I guess the future is very great while many companies and amenities will be using this technology If that certain thing failed then they are doing it wrong.

What will still be in existence?

Mankind will still be in existence, And people that are supporting Blockchain will surely boom and the demand for this technology and all running in it will be in demand I guess.

What portion of govs will utilize the blockchain?

I guess many establishments will be powered by Blockchain if not then it will have a not so convenient operation, than the ones that uses Blockchain, if the government would utilize it I guess it will be used in different aspect of the community that is keeping tabs of their records, Like Schools, Banks, Tax Collecting, In Election, and a lot more governmental facility we might think of.

What things do you think will happen that might surprise us?

I think the one that might surprise me most in the future is Blockchain can be used in Self Driving Automobile and if it can be implemented in the future, And pretty much the GPS function that you can locate your car in where you might park it probably.

In 2030 or before even then, technical advancement will increase very well and blockchain won't be left out. Blockchain is a modern codifying technology, cars, aeroplanes, ships and bigger technological gadgets and industries will require it. If you have a coin that is not worth much today, you might reconsider not dumping, some projects and teams might reawaken up again and that means boom for your now shit coins. ;D

Thanks for the great thread so far guys.

I guess I'll throw in some ideas...

Bitcoin Ethereum and Chainlink will be the new FANG, with maybe a few others that haven’t been created yet. Bitcoin will still be #1 in all ways is the de facto global currency, can scale, and will at least be 6 figures by 2030.  AI completely controls bitcoin mining at this point, which is completely autonomous.

Most all governments will use blockchain for records; hospitals too. Everyone’s social security number will be tied to a unique string ( maybe it's required / maybe it's without consent of citizens) and all info about said individual will be logged on the blockchain with their own personal file.

Bitcoin will be hoarded and millennial will use 2nd tier crypto’s (like Litecoin , Nano for example) to pay each other . The stock market as we know it today will be completely transformed and most people around the world can invest in any project like we they did with crypto in 2019.

People in the future now can send crypto simply by “bumping” or tapping each other’s phones together. Can also send via chip implants , emails; or through artificial digital assistants.  Oh and yeah, we have flying cars.

1. What will blockchain look like in 2030?
Majority of the current industrial processes will be moving to private blockchains which will make it more efficient and transparent. Regulatory reporting and compliance will become an easy task for the entrepreneurs. Wealth distribution among masses will become more effective and transparent.

2. What will have failed?
The conventional banking system who are known to have ripped off the commkn mass since decades. A more transparent global banking system will be formed with the help of blockchain.

3. What portion of govs will utilize the blockchain?
In data intensive sectors like land records, tax information, industry production data, population and rehabilitation departments will probably see an overhaul in their operations.

But I don't see much hopes for corrupted countries like N. Korea, India, Pakistan and some other African countries. They will probably reject blockchain and as a result, their financial backbones will become weak and poverty rates will rise.

4. What things do you think will happen that might surprise us?
The probable transformation of quality human life in positive direction.

In my opinion, blockchain will be used almost in every company and everyday use.
You can store data, contacts, clients, info and etc. to a blockchain.
It is safe, secure and has many ways to use, so I think that blockchain is invention of a decade.

@pooya is right some of the post here thinks that blockchain and crypto is the same lol ( I wonder where was the high IQ you were actually talking about.

Going back to the topic.

We know how strong can the blockchain technology when it comes to keeping your data safe and this can be the main reason why it might grow even bigger in the future years.
2030 can be long enough for a massive blockchain growth being widely used mainly in the Database system in probably almost all tech companies around the world. This tech might also be a standard studies in most universities.

I cannot foresee this one tho, If how can it affect the crypto industry

It is true that the future of Decentralised/Distributed Ledger systems lies within the Blockchain space. Hence, what Blockchain will look like in the near future is more robust and solutions to challenges in real life scenarios. What things will fail are systems that refused to embrace the technology and have a different approach towards the Ledger system that they utilize. The technological space will be rendering solutions to 60 to 75 percent of lifes day to day challenges usually encountered and experienced and Government will have no option but to fully turn to blockchain driven solutions.

Blockchain for sure will exist and the government probably use this technology. Innovation will continue on blockchain and it will help the economic growth and will help a lot of people through transparency services. I felt that from time to time the decentralized system will commonly use by a major aspect of all government company and bitcoin will lead as a great cryptocurrency alternate to fiat currency.

By 2030, there will certainly be more trillion-dollar symbols than there will certainly be trillion-dollar firms.

There is a race amongst the 4 most valued firms worldwide (based on stock exchange valuation) regarding which one will be the initial to reach one trillion bucks in worth. Apple, Amazon, Alphabet (Google), and Microsoft remain in a race to the "4-comma club."

These businesses are all representative of the new economic situation-- one that should maybe be called the no-longer-so-new economic climate. This new-ish economic climate is one based upon the decades-long shift to electronic company and also online links.

It is the Web economic climate or what blockchain supporters call "Internet 2.0" (preparing for the following era, the blockchain period, as "Internet 3.0").

But as we can see, even democratic countries are afraid of change. Therefore, blockchain can change a lot, but people do not allow it

According to Forbes.com (2019), There are 5 predictions for the future of blockchain and cryptocurrency. The U.S. economy’s bull run will end, and crypto interest will soar. When other currencies falter, people may turn to blockchain to safeguard their savings and move money across borders, strengthening the technology’s footprint while the wider economy struggles. The gaming industry will emerge as a major use case. The gaming scene tends to appeal to people with more technological savvy than the general population, which makes gaming the perfect testing ground for new blockchain functionalities. The U.S. will maintain a ‘wait and see’ regulatory approach.America led the way with innovation and investment in the space. Blockchain technology is simply too diverse and too relevant in too many areas to constrain itself to a single killer app. Stablecoins will gain popularity. The industry will recognize that blockchain’s ‘killer app isn’t coming. These incredible new manifestations of blockchain power can connect to every type of tradeable asset to increase confidence in nervous and unpredictable financial markets.

That will be a very  long period according to you but, base on my experience 2020 will be a year for Blockchain expo. Many company and countries have already be aware of the potentials in Blockchain, they want the transparency of the Blockchain. Let wait for 2020, Blockchain will be the talk of the year and not far 2030.

Blockchain will take over the Data Bases systems... Any process who involves a database will be done with blockchain, because the way blockchain uses to deal with a lot of information is the revolutionary step. So, i think in 2030 SQL and other databases systems will be obsolete and will be replaced with blockchain.

This question certainly depends on what nation you are focusing on. In 2030 I expect Blockchain technology to begin flourishing in many countries similarly to the nation of Estonia. Today in time, Estonia's government has begun to embrace and implement the workings of Blockchain, and its benefits, into the structure of their democracy and their political foundation.

It's really a High IQ thread because you are going to say about the future which is the long way. If you say about 2030, I must say that Bitcoin will dominate in the monetary system, Also Ethereum will work very promptly when people will get a lot of access to pay their payment or Bill by this cryptocurrency. Hopefully, a large number of cryptocurrencies will be here available and Cryptocurrency will be the mainstream of the monetary platform. Not only that but also the Government will take it into consideration for using it very fruitfully. From my perception, Blockchain and Cryptocurrency will be a vital platform in the coming future.

What will blockchain look like in 2030?

A vague question will have a vague answer. No one really knows. But I hope its gonna stay the same or something better than what it is now.

Quote
What will have failed?

A lot of projects have already failed. Lots of attempts that many people/businesses didn't think through, just people who are joining the hype train.

Quote
What will still be in existence?

Of course, Bitcoin will still exist by this timeline. I just guessing here but that's 11 years we're talking about. I don't know, maybe some significant/relevant people will..... you know. I not being rude here just saying, anything can happen.

Quote
What portion of govs will utilize the blockchain?

The government need to implement this technology ASAP like seriously, some government facilities still have a very old system to use, record, portray data.

Quote
What things do you think will happen that might surprise us?

I'm considering myself a gamer (probably). So I'm thinking of making an even more exposure to Gaming Community, I know they already do. But the future of Gaming is really something. Lots of other big businesses are investing in E-Sports, so adding the spice of this technology is gonna be more interesting.

So we are almost in the midway since blockchain technology's inception and 2030 which by far, I would assume that when that time comes, most industries including the Governments were already applying it to their existing systems and methodologies, - in a process call blockchainization.

Take the case in my country, where almost other Government agencies has a different set of records be it on a person's identity or civil registry, medical records, tax records, vehicle registration records, etc,(most information systems are not integrated) - which makes it very redundant and costly to maintain the records integrity. I think when all this data is blockchainized, the Government can really save a lot of money and resources and aside from that, their will be a high degree of transparency which is badly needed right now to radically minimize any form of fraud and corruption!

So far, I guess it will only take for us a leader that has the political will to implement this disruptive technology in the future. Hopefully soon!

Blockchain has been known for its sophisticated technology and its unravelling use in so many aspects. Probably, in 2030 blockchain is already on the mainstream and is very indemand in many ways. If my prediction will be right, the economy will have a big progress and already saved lots of money because of being free from any kind of counterfeits that has been stealing money from the government for faking products from foods to medical supplies and diamonds, blockchain has the ability to ensure the security of those and could help the global economy save the $600 billion being stole annually

Blockchain is a peer to peer connected computers that stores data.  There are a lot government institutions that use blockchain for data storage. In fact, centralized institutions usually perfer using blockchain for their data storage. The only future i see blockchain is massive adoption of it for data storage.

Yes, since we are talking about Blockchain rather than cryptos, we can just assume that cryptos will still be out there, but it's unfair to focus on them, not without a fair explanation of why this will be the major way of using Blockchain. I think that Blockchain will become widely adopted for ticket purchases, elections, perhaps keeping track of medical records and other sensitive data. It will probably also be used by banks that will make their own tokens simply to benefit from cheap transactions (you exchange fiat 1 for token, and then token for fiat 2, which is faster and cheaper for international transfers).

Before 2030, shitcoins and useless ICO would have faded away and stop been existing in the market. Only the strong use case of great project that has real time adoption will ever survive the market.
The government should have adopted blockchain in their defense system, financial system and most important in voting. We see a bright future for blockchain engineers in this industry, they should be the next world billionaires.

Personally,I believe that blockchain technology into vote polling will not be implemented because it will only worse the condition of politicians and they are in the place to implement it,otherwise banks already started using it for transaction but not in widely adopted range.

Other application I am stronhly believe to be implemented by most of the government is for national identity storafe purpose so we can retrive the data whenever we want and also it will be helpful to restrict identity theft by unknown members.

Some interesting applications are already in processing of many different countries can be found here https://blockgeeks.com/guides/blockchain-applications/

New coins will emerge, other coins will fail making it until 2030. Blockchain technology will be adopted by most countries (if not, probably the developed countries while developing countries will soon adopt it also) since blockchain can be used in different field and would be use in other functions that can help in developing a countries economy. Something that might surprise us... Other coin dominating the market. I am not saying that bitcoin would fail but there's always a possibility of something new could replace bitcoin.

blockchain makes everything transparent so it will be a useful tool if implemendted on voting/elections not just on politics industry but also on almost anything so that all are going to be fair  . the one that will only said that blockchain can worsen the condition/situation are the one's that hide something and they are afraid to get exposed and caught on the act .

Blockchain will be a mainstream in the future because of its great feature that can be used by the individuals. This will lead to mass adoption of cryptocurrency as well. Adoption of blockchain technology will let people learn abiut cryptocurrency. But I bet some countries would create their own currency than letting their people use decentralized one.

Blockchain will require a HUGE increase in efficiency before it becomes commonplace. Visa uses the electric consumption equivalent of 50,000 homes to process its billions of yearly transactions. The bitcoin blockchain consumes the electric equivalent of millions of homes to process a fraction of the transactions. The biggest obstacle to the adoption of blockchain will be environmentalists.

Furthermore cryptocurrencies not able to keep up with Visa when it comes to the amount of transactions per day without the blockchain getting way to large to store and handle, the blockchain will get too big to download so no new miners will join the network. Miners come and go all the time but if miners stop joining miners will leave which will weaken the security and make the blockchain more centralized and could kill a blockchain.

There are few companies now who have adopted blockchain technology behind in different cryptocurrencies. Because this has no borders and it is able to secure transactions between two parties that have to create transactions online. So, I did not have doubt that this technology will be leading in all establishments and companies who need a payment transaction process. However, I saw that they are begun to adopt this blockchain and usually in payment processor online.

Blockchain is a upcoming and emerging technology that can interrupt many established sectors from supply chain to banks. For transactions, blockchain makes thing easy by keeping record of transactions which can't be manipulated. A lot goes in terms of capital and labor, maintaining transactions which can't be manipulated and at the same time have integrity. Blockchain cuts the need of having heavy investment and can ease the work. This can be implemented in many sectors to cut the cost.

Lets get a High IQ thread going here.

What will blockchain look like in 2030? What will have failed? What will still be in existence? What portion of govs will utilize the blockchain? What things do you think will happen that might surprise us?
I'm sure that the lightning network would be widely used by the government in the future and surely the whole blockchain will get updated and updated and grow faster than what it is now. And all wireless payment process we are doing now will be handled by the blockchain and help us do transactions way faster than the traditional one and our current estate of blockchain.
The thing that might surprise us is when the bitcoin network suddenly collapses and we were left hanging.

Which I doubt that Bitcoin will be gone, although, we don't know the future but as of today it is impossible that Bitcoin will collapse. Yes, some experts are already in the vision that Blockchain will be widely used by most companies as well as governments, it has a lot advantage that will help us hustle free and more convenient so no doubt about that.

Blockchain is the future. Its really good for storing data. But crypto != blockchain.
So, this may be not so helpful for us

Perhaps it is too early to speculate thing that will going to happen here on crypto, but I am pretty sure that government and banks will going to surrender contradicting bitcoin in many aspects, in short, banks and crypto will be friends, in addition, currencies will be digitalized as massive crypto adoption takes place. Right now, we're at a step closer to these changes.

Ok, I'll give my crystal ball a try and it goes a little something like the ff:

#1.) Aside from discussing Moore's law to death, it should evolve towards achieving the current limitations of blockchain technology.

#2.) Blockchain copycats or wannabees.

#3.) Bitcoin &/or whichever variant is still dominant, of course.

#4.) Those that are more open and not afraid of change, are the ones that would certainly try to utilize blockchain technology instead.

#5.) An heir to the throne of btc will rise amongst the altoins unexpectedly!

Now they are trying to apply Blockchain technology in many areas, from data storage databases to reporting on election results, we can only imagine what will happen in the future

Every country will definitely do their best to keep abreast of the times, where indeed at this time digital technology is one thing that is very much in need of course this is also inseparable from the blockchain technology included in the digital system.

Almost all fields seem to be more efficient if they use a blockchain system with transparent data openness so that all can see how the conditions and developments occur in the project.

Hopefully the blockchain will further develop so that the world of cryptocurrency is not something underestimated in the future.

It isn't really easy to just spell out things that would happen in 2030. I can only consider saying what's obviously going to happen. But then, a lot is going to happen, governments would still be fighting against bitcoin while some would agree to adopt it. Bitcoin would be more popular, it'll be worthing a whole lot of grands, More cryptocurrencies that can affect our daily living would be created. More projects that relates in different fields would be born( fields like music, movies, dancing, etc). And of course, we'll be celebrating 'Bitcoin at 20'

1. BTCitcoin would continue to lead in the crypto market.
2. Platforms will be created that allow the management of digital assets more efficiently, faster, safer and within everyone's reach.
3. The world population could know more about Bitcoin, the crypto market and there will be more adoption.
4. The digital money that we have dreamed of for so long will reach more people to empower them.

Great point. I'm thinking govs will now have their own mining facilities, whether overt or covert, due to national security, because of a fiat hedge

In 10 years blockchain will be used in our daily lives example is a receipt that put in the blockchain.

Sierra Leone started their own blockchain-based voting system, Russia is following its path to build their own.
