The whole market is bleeding hard today but some coins are certainly more affected than others, Litecoin, EOS and especially XRP have been hit quite hard.

A typical volatility on crypto. 9% isnt really that a big deal.
(top 10 coins in CMC including btc on top).

Maybe, but still I'm a bit disappointed since the Block Reward Halving of Litecoin didn't deliver the expected result in terms of price.Since this was done, LTC did nothing but fall and took down with it all the hype about halving and how the price will rise because of it.

Lite coin is not the only coin that is lost today. BTC dominance has increased by more than 2% today. Many big alts coins/tokens are suffering against BTC.
Look at XRP, EOS, ETH. You are going to understand what I mean.

The adjustment of Bitcoin has really seriously affected the alts. It seems that current investors are only focusing on Bitcoin and they have sold off the alts to buy Bitcoin or transfer to USDT.
This trend will occur in the long term and we will see further price drops of alts.

Totally not a big deal.  Bitcoin itself just lost $2000 in a very short period of time and I haven't broken a sweat over it (though I don't own much anyway).

As far as Litecoin goes, I do seem to recall a time not too long ago where it was trading at around $3--correct me if I'm wrong, but I also remember people were asking if it was ever going to hit $100 and I thought it wasn't likely at all.  But looking at OP's chart, I'd have to say that despite a bad month it's still hanging in there at a price that a lot of people didn't expect.  I think LTC has a pretty strong community, so it's one of the more solid altcoins on the market, and it's just taking the hit that many other alts are taking right now.  No biggie.

The adjustment of Bitcoin has really seriously affected the alts.
You're probably correct about that.  And I bet when bitcoin starts upward again we'll probably see a lot of altcoins recovering too.  I have some NEO (and that's about it), and it's been hammered pretty hard in the past 3 weeks.  Again, I'm not sweating it.  That kind of volatility is to be expected.

A very bad time for Litecoin and many other altcoins. It all started when Bitcoin slided backward, being the leading cryptocurrency. On the average, I can't say the losses will be sustained because there's a general air of optimism as far as the market is concerned.

Litecoin has no real use and looks grim for the future.  If the halvening decreases the price, sell everything!!!!
The founder done a runner, there is no development and no-one cares. Its just trading for no reason, no long term future.

I now agree with those that said " after halving litecoin might get dump" because that is what is happening now. We are seeing very bad price this days after the halving which was not expected. I do believe that we are just at a time were whatever happens to bitcoin happen to other coin and because bitcoin is falling that is why other coins are falling too.

Everyone should stop complaining about altcoins loss of value as of yesterday, either litecoin or ETH we cant just keep seeing value surging all the time and moreover altcoins season is nowhere to be find for now,why cant you guys take advantage  of the drop in value instead?lets wait till next altcoin season and we will witness the better version of LTC since the halving already reduce the block reward

Lol even ethereum and other alts suffers the same and some are more even losses so what’s to bother?we are not new in this world when before we sleep prices are great and when we wake up in morning it’s already bleeding,so the thing is how ready we are?and ho capable we are to hold onto our coins and not panicked selling?if this can be answered then that means you are safe(not unless we are talking about shitcoin then things will be different)

That is because they are less stronger than the ones that are not as affected as they, Ethereum and some coins before Litecoin declined also and some even had a decline of 11 percent, but for the class of Litecoin which is Ethereum and others, Litecoin will surely be more badly affected because prior to when bitcoin even declined in price, Litecoin was not doing much fine, it has been stagnant on a very low price for a long time and even its halving could not help it which I believed that the halving even did more damaged than the positive effect that people expected it was going to have.

I think more focus should be on bitcoin right now and if bitcoin is pumped, maybe it could help some of these coins like Litecoin who has been seriously down for too long now.

Litecoin will experience a fairly deep decline. so prepare yourself to be LTC holders. if you are brave, maybe it's better to sell now than be late later. I see there is a possibility the price of Litecoin will go to $ 50 or even lower. let alone see the state of other coins such as bitcoin and ethereum which are experiencing the same conditions as litecoin. might be a trigger for the bear market.

It seems that LTC market is slowly crashing as BTC's price is declining too. No wonder why most of these altcoins are suffering too much losses due to the Bitcoin's market situation.

Selling during this time is not a great advice to some hodlers of LTC out there and beside of that LTC is one of the top coins in CMC. So there's no need to worry too much since it won't just drop like some random altcoins who never grow back after it's being dumped and used.

I don't think it's a big deal, and I don't think Litecoin is being singled out especially. The whole market fell, some coins a bit more than others. Nothing detrimental for litecoin particularly here, just the usual volatility. Would be nice if prices started rising again across the board though :)

The dump after the halving is real for litecoin. Some may call that as a normal chart caused by the whole of crypto are getting the same but they don't know about the old chart has proven itself so many times to be the true story.
The problem is without utility usage and litecoin can't sustain its position.
Litecoin has a big chance to go down even more.

That is what we will see if bitcoin dominance increase. That will make altcoin price getting down, and some of them are down deeper than the price before. But that will increase back after bitcoin reach a stable for a while and if bitcoin still stays at a price, the altcoin will trying to increase higher. So, I think there is no need to worry because that is what will happen and you can buy more amount to sell when the price increase to cover your losses.

Most of crypto traders expected an increase of litecoin price after the reward halving happened a few weeks ago, and technically it also supports it. But with the bitcoin dominance still rising up, major alts are bleeding for the sake of bitcoin. A 9% decrease here is just tethered unto bitcoin price decrease, next time try to focus on BTC pairing rather than USD because you might miss some details.

this is nothing new. altcoins (all of them) have been getting dumped for 2 years now. there is not a single week that goes by without all the altcoins losing from 1-5% to 30%. it is the product of all the pumps that we had in 2017 and all the newbies who entered the altcoin market because they thought since bitcoin has gone up the rest can do too!
we still have a lot more dumps to see before the altcoin market can start getting pumps again.

You are quite correct on your analysis that the aftermath of 2017 is getting to the altcoins. I also bought some coins back then in 2018, but most of them are below my buying price, they have deeped seriously.

You can bag those cheap coins which being dumped after the halving and then wait again for another bounce, it's for the people who understand
how to take the risk and will patiently wait for another good news to the entire industry, if you can manage how to play well with the market not
LTC alone but also to every potential coins that will rise after bitcoin  bring back the bull inside market.

With 76.58$ value and with 4.56% growth I might say that litecoin is in recovery right now

In May 2020 this former #3 cryptocurrency will have a halving and many speculative thread has taking about this will be moon so this is maybe a regular correction before the big day happen

I bought litecoin when this was dumped in the lowest and now I might say I’m in profiting and will continue to prosper till that time happen

As far as I know, Litecoin has not been deploying updates in the last year. . at least that is what i friend told me, and he must know what he is saying, because he has been mining Litecoin like crazy for years!

Altcoins yet in no hurry to please us this year. So far, only bitcoin can boast of a good increase in value. The season of altcoins has not yet come, so we can observe such significant falls.

Halving does not really have that magical influence to attract investors to the market of Litecoin, what will really attract investors is their product and the hype they create for it, sometimes I think that Litecoin team are sleeping because they are not creating hype for it.  It is easy to just shift the blame of them not developing on bitcoin dominance, but when did bitcoin start to dominate, just from April, but prior to when bitcoin started to dominate, what development did they really have?

And this is a coin that claim they have faster and better solution and alternative to bitcoin, so what is pushing bitcoin forward that cannot also push them forward if they have a system that is better than bitcoin, me I just see all these their low value as the developers fault anyway.

I guess, although Litecoin is one of the best-rated cryptocurrencies, it is not so popular among the crypto users as other altcoins and Bitcoin. New investors do not know much about it, and the old ones are trying to make profits thanks to the new alts. Litecoin will grow, but you will have to wait for at least one year for it. Bitcoin halving will help LTC.
