Title: Sentiment analysis or Technical analysis, which one is best to make good trading
Post by: AppliedOptimal on August 16, 2019, 08:47:39 PM
I was confused earlier between sentiment and technical analysis that which is good for trading but I found both have their own importance when there is a strong sentiment about any coin whether it be a positive or negative technical analysis doesn’t work. Technical analysis works perfectly when there are no market manipulations, and also you must have seen when there is a positive sentiment, the coin goes up and in negative coin goes down. But the problem I faced while doing sentiment analysis is, it takes so much time and effort to continuously watch all the news on different social media to find out the sentiment so recently one of my friends introduced me to a tool named SmartBotCoin.io (https://www.smartbotcoin.io/?utm_source=cc) that gathers all the news of the market and do sentiment analysis about any coin to make the best trading decisions and before using any tool I really want to be assured if this tool is legit or not? Because when it comes to trading I am very cautious to use any tool. Do you think detecting sentiments on AI/ML tools and then trading on the basis of those sentiments works?

Why would stress out yourself on choosing among the two if you can choose those two to be applied on your trading?
Technical and Fundamentals would be a good tandem when you do make trades. They do have their own advantage on one another.Just make
use of it and see if its effective or profitable or not.

Well, is good you admit that technical analysis is good in analysing the market before you make your trading decision which means that technical analysis is helping you to make profit in your trading activities. The combination of technical and fundermental analysis will help you as a trader in making trading profit if you are good in making use of them. Although, you know that is not all the news around that can influence the market so, your focus should be on the technical analysis and major news that could influence the market.

Try both of them and see how it goes, you don't need to choose between the two because no analysis is perfect, it is still 50/50. Or if you don't want things to be complicated, just choose one stick to it and make the best out of that analysis.

Both has its strengths and cons, and no one can point to you what is the best in trading. There are traders here who simply really in TA because they are familiar with it and they know it can bring money to them. However, there could be some set of investors who goes on sentiments analysis because for them it is very easy and not complex.

Sentiment analysis is not really a method I appreciate. psychology can always change and amateur traders always do this well.
I think we should still learn TA, it always gives more accurate signs.

If the bot can gather all of the crypto information from out there, I guess you will be confusing to decide which coin you want to buy because I am sure that there will be so many coins that could be potential to increase. You will find it hard to choose the right coins because you don't have much money to buy all of the coins, and that can make you late to buy the right coins. We don't know if their services will stay for a long time because I think the service is new among us, so we need to know by subscribing with them.

I will stay on Technical analysis. Because it is very logicable if compared about what we think about the coin. Trader usually should not use their feels because when we use our feelings, it sometimes can make us pick wrong decision. Not means use our feelings is bad, but when we can do logically in trading activity, we can survive in any condition of market and then make advantages for us.

I don't think so if that will be working perfectly consider about the sentiment will be affected by any news, rumour or speculation.
The tool will not accurate to detect the sentiment and use it as a data to determine the direction of the market but i still prefer with santiment app rather than it caused by it's not so popular and lack of testimony.
Both sentiment and technical analysis are important in trade.

News and Information are important factors for you when starting to trade. because from this information your knowledge of trade knowledge is increasing. therefore, look for as much information as possible to provide more knowledge about your trade, either in the form of the latest price information or about the function of the use of tools in trading.

thats right,
but for me technical analysis is important too, because with technical analysis we know when the right time to enter or exit the market  ;)

People always claim to be followers of technical analysis and charting methods,,, but I tell you,,, for sure most people are in fact trading by sentiment. At first, they may be following some kind of chart, but when the market moves suddenly, you can be sure they panic and start thinking with their hearts.

There is no valid analysis in a market where 2% of wallets control 80% of bitcoins supply. HUge manipulation, fundamental analysis, TA, whatever.. can be f**d in 0,0 time. keep care.

For crypto, I think both are necessary. this can help you to make a better analysis. it's hard to believe technically, when the crypto market is prone to manipulation. so i'm have to make a sentiment analysis to see the market situation. I always make a second analysis when there is news, and just think whether to buy or just watch.

Both are really necessary if works as the basis of your decision on market to make good trades. Sentiment analysis is quite helpful especially on know coins in the market as well as the technical side of it. You can make comparison after knowing the sentiments and technical side of the coin before engaging to the market.

As it's practiced by most people on this site there really isn't much difference between sentiment and technical analysis. I'd say the vast majority of TA posted here is not technical nor is it anywhere near being actual analysis. There are exceptions of course but good luck separating them from the noise.

I will go for Sentiment Analysis, It will extract and analyze subjective information from all over the web and will provide the best result for that certain data that is needed.
In trading we need the Sentiment Analysis because that one will help us to make a successful trade, Every news regarding bitcoin or any alt coin that you are trading have a very big impact on it's price, one news can generate an actual bull run within a seconds.
Both are needed but the Sentiment Analysis is greater than Technical.

Analyzing sentiment is the worst thing you can do as a trader. In fact, CNBC news accurately feature sentiment of the crypto trading community. They yell doom and panic sell, the sheep obliges them. A smart trader would use this event to buy, of course after doing TA.

Nice shill of  SmartBotCoin by the way.

You may be surprised, but TA books say that technical market indicators include a psychological component. In general, the human soul does not change so quickly that the market can change. Therefore, traders have been using TA for more than a hundred years.

Fundamental analysis is more suitable for investors. This helps evaluate the long-term prospects for investment.

I've never heard about that analysis is called sentiment analysis but I've understand what it is all about. Most of the time, traders are talking about technical analysis. But with the rotation of news in the market, this truly affects the charts.

Study and search for yourself on where you are good at. There are traders that doesn't really read the charts but is able follow the market trends and that's how they base their reaction so it means that they are good at it.

While most traders are good with TA's.

If I prefer technical analysis over sentiment analysis Because, in my opinion technical analysis makes it easier for us, when determining the movement of a coin, so that it is convincing us to release or sell the coins we are trading right .

Tools are made to assist the user and make the task easy. If you find it difficult to choose between two approaches/tools, you can try to use both of them if there's nothing to lose in the end. Also, experience is still a gain. Personally, I prefer technical analysis for trading because it provides me more assurance and security in the trade.

It is definitely technical analysis. The tools such as automated bots, trading signals, and etc. are the backbone of any trader. Through these they are able to trade with guides. I personally recommend everyone to always use technical analysis because fundamental analysis in crypto is quite not effective though.

If you are still in doubt why don't you try searching for some other information about that trading tool? in that way you can have your own idea and knowledge about it. Well actually just like you I was also curious about using some tool to have a good trading and i'm lucky to find one, it was also suggested by my friend and I didn't regret anything because it helps me to track my investments and manage my trade very well.

For me I will go into the technical analysis since we are talking about a cryptocurrency trading and since we are into using technical terms as well as equipment on making us decide our next phase on trading crypto, technical analysis will be a best choice to do rather than getting into sentimental analysis because such method will not be quite enough to be effective in trading,

Choosing both will be the best option but in still depends on the person. Tools are very useful for people who work all day because like smartbotcoin which automates using ai technology will make the user comfortable in leaving their assets while going to work. Also the live chart will be a huge advantage for the user when he is monitoring and not at work.

No need to choose both side because if you are a real trader, those you have mentioned above is the most important strategy when it comes trading .  Even you just holding a one coin 'cause you do not know what will happen in the future , so always use both option to assure no matter happen on the performance ., you are ready to protect your portfolio any time ,even let say  if your going to short term or long term.

from my experience all this analysis cannot guarantee profit when you trade, all cryptocurrency price movements are very difficult to predict, analysis has only a small role to help you when trading.

I think with technical analysis 60% is almost accurate to determine buy and sell positions.

This two is very important in trading and also to become a good trader because this two provide proper statistics and positive technical analysis in order to have successful trading. In the world of trading industry and this was pretty good if you are getting some sentiment analysis to grow up your minds in the real world trading.

Using tools in trading can be really helpful for every trader. But i suggest to try the technical analysis because most traders uses this tool, especially for the first time traders that they can be guided and they can determined the volume and the price movement of a coin, so that they can easily trade or sell a coin.

Technical analysis is better, but that doesn't help much for Altcoin which has a low marketcap. because all analysis can be broken by several people, if they have large funds they can manipulate it.

so technical analysis suitable for coins such as bitcoin, ethereum and some top-ranked crypto coins.

First timer are the ones that usually finds it more difficult to interpret chats and for you to be able to interpret chart easily and correctly, you must have undergone some through training and put lots of practices into trading.

Technical analysis not as easy as you may think, most people that uses technical analysis successfully are pro trader, even pro trader sometimes still finds themselves falling victim of fomo with all the technical analysis that they do, but if yiu can really master it well, it is really a fun thing, but it is still not complete without joining it with fundamental analysis, you have to be able to combine the two together for you to have exactly the right prediction for that particular period of time that you need it and for a particular time frame.

In my opinion, sentiments is more widely used for trading. I understand that there could be need for technical analysis and fundamental analysis, but the market is not regulated and depends wholly on demand and supply. With the issue of whales who manipulate the market at will, I doubt there would be any need for technical analysis.

I think sentiment and technical analysis are both very important techniques for determining market movements, technical analysis is used to analyze price movements for a certain time, whereas sentiment analysis is used to anticipate large price movements due to sentiment or news, because it will have a large impact on prices despite its effect just a few moments, so both are very important

The combination of two would be the best answer, ofcourse. One alone won't be enough to make good profit in trading. One could be technically wise, but if he lacks sentiment analysis, risks might still be tackled. There are new tools such as smartbotcoin.io which is capable on giving both technical and sentiment analysis, easier for the investors and traders.

Various ways can be used for trading. Both of these analyses I suppose you should use. Because basically before we do the trade should do the analysis.

This crypto market price is highly volatile and often influenced by outside news. I before buying coins and doing sales, I always look at the price of the coin that is on Binance exchange. The exchange became my guideline for sales and purchases.

Sentiment analysis and technical analysis, those of them are important in the case of trading because sentiment analysis is referring to the computational method/analysis of what is happening through the live analysis of the cryptocurrency, while technical analysis is based on the direction of the prices in the market. So this two must be considered in order to make a good trading.

...when there is a strong sentiment about any coin whether it be a positive or negative technical analysis doesn’t work.

I think that the above can be miss leading in my view so that newbies don't just dive in like that when they see or feel sentiment is taking over the market. Even a careful study of TA would still show the direction of the market or sentiment. I have noticed that too, I feel TA won't just be redundant when sentimental traders come in.

But the problem I faced while doing sentiment analysis is, it takes so much time and effort to continuously watch all the news on different social media to find out the sentiment

Yes it is not easy to research on what will make you successful. It is worth it at the long time but if you don't do your research, you will keep begging the market.  ;D

For me Technical analysis do work but most of the thing that work in crypto space is more of market sentiment, remember hen announcement of Main net launch alone is enough to drive the price of tokens up, or announcement  for the airdrop distribution is enough to drive the price up.

Any analysis can help you as each trade-main once conducting analysis.
I prefer when trading by opening some exchanges.
So I was able to compare prices and sales chart movements.
The comparison between exchanges is very important and it is my guideline on Binance Exchange.
Perhaps this will be very profitable for those who do daily trades.

You are right, sometimes even technical analysis does not work when the market is dominated by sentiments that work in the market. it makes the dominance of negative or positive sentiment always successful in influencing existing trade.

Using this tools to assist the users is really helpful, but i prefer technical analysis because it is more effective to use in trading rather than fundamental analysis, and the tools like trading signals and automated bots are very helpful to guide traders.

A very effective way on using up those shills and suggestion and actually ive been using this sentiments since I do realize and learn that those who do keep telling about pumps are just those people who do like to sell off their bags that's why they do create some noise and other positive just to lure in investors and when they got convinced and buy up the token then that's the time they do utilize that opportunity to set theirselves free.A traditional stuff actually but there are still lots of people whom do fall for this one.
Fundamentals somehow had some effective on the entire market depending if its a FUD or FOMO but sometimes theres no impact that's why if you fully rely on news you cant still assure the effectiveness of it.So I'm doing both things like technical and some sort of news.

What we are looking now is to be more effective and potentially profitable with, if we are comfortable in using with technical analysis then that will be fine. The same thing with the fundamental analysis. It would be matter into our choice and also the strategies that we used, the most important is we succeed and achieve our goal.

You can't consider bots as a helpful trading guide instead, it only help your life easier without stressing yourself to decide.

If must pick, i will pick on technical analysis. Because technical analysis will be used in any condition of market. With that, we can do trading in any condition and make profit from it. Because if only use our feeling and not analyze because of chart when on a condition that we not expected, we can't do anything that can help us to gain profit or maybe minimize loss.

It is in our part to know which one is much better than of the others. If we are good in TA's it much preferable than of sentiment cause it is most important to do trading that we have some basis on the upcoming market flows, not just we feel it that it will go higher or going down. Most traders suffer losses because they are following with their emotions. But the only problem is that we all not been good in Technical analysis, it is really hard to make good TA's actually.

This is to think that not all of us are traders and not really be a trader if we never give efforts to learn certain tools in order to make it right and to have an effective trading experience.

That is a fairly successful trading method up to the present time. When news arrives, every activity will be more predictable and we can make a profit by seeing new news. I think we should be news hunters to make a profit in trading, not to pursue technical analysis. why?
Because our market is always manipulated and following the price of Bitcoin, sometimes the signals are often incorrect.
