Title: How to improve LocalEthereum? Post by: Docnaster on August 20, 2019, 04:25:04 AM As you guys can see from my signature, LocalEthereum is hosting a signature campaign. If you haven't heard of this site, please go ahead and click the link in the signature and test the site out.
My question here is, what do you think can be done on this site to improve it? Perhaps integrating a secondary DEX or p2p exchange within this platform to trade Ethereum collectibles and tokens? or maybe they should consider becoming a payments processor like bitpay? But focusing only on Ethereum and its tokens? I am not the owner, just a participant in this campaign. But what do you think can be done to bring this platform out of the shadows of Localbitcoin? Please make your views heard in the replies below. Title: Re: How to improve LocalEthereum? Post by: Slow death on August 20, 2019, 12:59:47 PM Hello everyone a few days ago a came across a localbitcoins look alike called localethereum ...its a decentralized p2p exchange platform and actually it has people offering good services but scammers are always present anywhere. This a warning to all the people that are thinking of using the site. This is my story. I was looking for a quick way to make some few extra bucks so i found a way of buying ether at a low price and selling it at a higher price. I found a way through paypal(I know am dumb dont tell me) So i was skeptical at first because there is no way a person could be buying ether at an above market price unless he has some he stole the paypal account or has bad motives but i had some 150bucks to spare and test my theory...we transacted and by the end i had 200 which is 50 bucks in profit i was happy but still knew there was a possibility of a chargeback (its paypal for God's sake and am dealing with digital assests )...so i never traded with the guy again and waited for at least one month so that i can know if its legit or shit...after 6 days(today) i got a paypal dispute that the funds were sent without the senders approval and that i provide proof of shipment and shit....i did provide the escrows site proof but i think it wont be enough so am going to loose the funds...I contacted localethereum support to know if the scammer will be dealt with or if i will get my funds back...all blame goes to me because i got greedy and did not listen to all the warnings..Anyway i lost so that you may not lose your hard earned cash and maybe something good will come out of this.. https://imgur.com/a/Z0Ir7 https://imgur.com/a/EH3pH The user was (coinmarket)https://localethereum.com/profile/coinmarket Watchout for the all the others with a rate above average or avoid paypal as mentioned on the site and you should be good to go. I will always strive to warn guys occassionally to avoid such issues from happening to anyone else. Any donation is appreciated : 0x244f1B2e45228A7427265678Dad8E346A0C42F98 I recently also experienced strange trades via bank transfer, when selling. There are a number of indicators, that the person is not the one he/she claims to be, even though they seem to have access to the bank account and copies of passports. In 2 cases, where I am not yet sure if they are fraudulent, the buyers had an account from a charity organization. Each time, the account was also freshly created and had no history. Answers were sometimes rude, when too many questions were asked. I fear that there might be police investigations following the trades, due to stolen identities and online banking credentials. Source: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2344281.msg29921424#msg29921424 I never used this site, there are few reviews on google (I found few reviews), I didn't find their ANN Thread from bitcointalk, I don't know if they have, I didn't see social networks like twitter and facebook, maybe they don't have them social networks, you need to register on the site to get more information... so I believe they need better these points that I mentioned I didn't see Title: Re: How to improve LocalEthereum? - More payment methods. I can see that even the widely used ones such as Neteller, Perfect Money and Payoneer are not supported. - Better filters. I find that useful with Gift cards, where you could select which gift card are you interested in selling/buying instead of showing everything that is available. Apart from that, I think they're doing a good job and we have to compare them with LBC, they do have a better UX/UI, no enforced KYC/AML (I believe), and still support in-person cash trades. Title: Re: How to improve LocalEthereum? Post by: 2double0 on August 20, 2019, 02:00:55 PM Additional e-currency options should be allowed as well as an exchange with atomic swap capability would do much better job if this is kinda possible for them to integrate with many different alts available. It will get them much more customers than what they are getting because they still look to be less known as a recognized exchange among other competitors.
Title: Re: How to improve LocalEthereum? Post by: 1Referee on August 20, 2019, 07:46:09 PM no enforced KYC/AML (I believe), and still support in-person cash trades. It's only a matter of time before we see that change, because the bigger these platforms get, the more they have to lose and thus seek to comply in least stressing form in order to keep regulators at distance. The main thing is that these platforms start off without KYC/AML requirements to onboard as many users as possible, then later on (could take a year or two) slowly introduce KYC/AML and start to exclude countries. Binance has pretty much followed the same trajectory. There just isn't a way to get around regulators anymore. Title: Re: How to improve LocalEthereum? An ANN in bitcointalk is very important. As this website is focused on Ethereum, I believe a Reddit community is also mandatory. There are so many ethereum communities and subreddits in Reddit, certainly any business related to etherem cannot miss it. If it were listed in Coinmarketcap would be a great improvement as well. Yup, if you want to exchange without any KYC then OTC is probably the only choice sooner or later. I won't be surprised if this platform started KYC process in the near future, especially after the government finally decide who must undergo KYC and who doesn't. I hope Bisq won't do the same though. Title: Re: How to improve LocalEthereum? Post by: jrrsparkles on August 21, 2019, 04:00:07 PM Localethereum is not a new site, they are present here for very long but I read that there are lot of scammers present there and stealing money from bitcoin so they should improve their escrow and security system like localbitcoin to get improved.I am not sure about their Tos,if they don't have any KYC procedure then this is a great chance for them to succeed since localbitcoin changed their verification system.

I personally like the no KYC part because I am bit fussy about sharing personal information when it comes to that. And I like the UI but, its too purple for my taste. However I'm not complaining. I would like to see some token integration really. I mean they are already supporting external wallets and everything. Allowing token trading p2p would be great too, I don't think that's been done yet by any exchange. Title: Re: How to improve LocalEthereum? Post by: legendster on September 26, 2019, 08:20:02 PM I would really love to see a p2p exchange where Ethereum collectibles can be traded.
I would double down on Localethereum promotion if that became a reality... Title: Re: How to improve LocalEthereum? Cause OP is talking about LocalEthereum and he is wearing Wolfbet signature (but says his signature is of Local,,, and so are a few others talking about it. p2p exchange all exist but you are right, those ERC collectibles do not really have a place to be traded! Title: Re: How to improve LocalEthereum? Post by: DarkDays on September 27, 2019, 10:42:58 AM Don't we have too many DEXs out there? But I do like the idea of an Ethereum centric payments processor. I always considered Litecoin to be the second best crypto after Bitcoin, but Ethereum changed that mindset years ago. Now, litecoin isn't even relevant. And for Ethereum to be able to capture a bigger market again, it has to utilize every aspect of its existence, even as a currency which many people supposedly have some qualms about.
However, I do think LocalETH should support other cryptocurrencies. I really don't see the point of being ETH only... Title: Re: How to improve LocalEthereum? The campaign was / is supposed to be a longer one and might be resumed at a later date but right now it is effectively paused as the results from the campaign were not that great. As is expected from a short campaign. Title: Re: How to improve LocalEthereum? Post by: jrrsparkles on September 29, 2019, 01:07:17 AM You are right about that. As is expected from a short campaign. Signature campaigns of bitcointalk made many services to shine among the crypto community but for the effective results it should be longer along with the good community posters.Good luck for the management of that campaign in future and sure it will bring some change to their website along with more traffic. |
