Whenever you attend meet-ups or see photos from blockchain or crypto events, 90% of those in attendance and those  representing blockchain companies are usually guys.

What's stopping women from getting into the crypto space?

Systematic barriers? Lack of interest? Lack of acceptance?

What could we do to increase their numbers?

I think that women are more careful,  think more,  check every little detail. . .
Maybe I'm wrong but based on my wife and experience with her I can say that she is still skeptic about crypto and don't trust it much 😀
So,  what to say more! ? 😁

Women are not able to understand the logic of blockchain

because the girls have no money

Maybe this.

I have my wife and she likes crypto because she seem to believe that it's just all about making money. But when I try to explain about the risk that it has, she's not willing to listen.

They are interested if its about cashing out crypto but if the market isn't favorable, they lose interest.

My theory why this is so:

* The event host probably have lots of male friends. He send mass invite to most of his male friends.

* Women are not traditional the bread winner... So they don't bother much with work. They are rather busy raising kids.

* They are just being shy.

*  They don't take a lot risk (unless encouraged). It traditionally man's role to take risk.  Men are more adventurous and more willing to risk it with new & risky businesses. It more like how "Man of a house" would be the first to inspect a strange Christmas gift dropped by a neighbor in his front door.

* It could be cultural.

Girls are not interested in such technologies, they are interested only in instagram

Women don't like complicated terms.

Women are busy with other things, cryptocurrency is a complex concept

As I girl I can say I am quite interested In these things. But I can see how my friends are not as they see it as unessisary and go complicated to get involved.

Woman like to spend their money on things that are less risky and very few take risk on a system that is not approved by governments. They always see anything that is not from government or that governments speak ill-of as bad and few has ever tried to see good in blockchain or bitcoin in particular. I discuss investment in crypto currency with a lady in my office and she said "she can not invest into something she cannot touch except education"!

That verifies it as I had my experiment on how my wife will react whenever I'd tell her on how its complicated to invest in cryptocurrencies.

It means that most women really likes to make money but upon hearing the consequences and on how complicated it is to get in, you'll start to have some doubt and reasons on why you don't want to continue. But tough women who really sees the future with crypto and likes of getting into a risk but rewarding decision, will stay.

I think some are too busy in their household chores.
And remaining are busy in taking care of their children.
Some are also too busy in accomplishing their real life goals.

A recent study posted on cointelegraph suggests that the numbers are increasing rapidly.
I'll say women like for the men to test waters, crash and burn - first!

This may sound a bit sexist, but I guess the male population is easily lured into any money making venture, no matter the risk. The fairer sex seems to make measured decisions and fairly weigh the risks vs. advantages.

I think because Woman are not born gambler,i mean risking Money for no assurances?

They tend to prevent from dealing in things they don't really know and that is why they are the best in Budgeting .

In some groups that i joined ?majority are Guys and there are some woman and others pretending to be woman.

I've read an article about more women investing in bitcoin but just keeping quite :)

This thread is like a who’s who of sexist morons. I’m sure there are many more women in crypto than is assumed but likely not as high as the % of virgins on this thread.

busy with other things for sure but cryptocurrency is not a complex thing for women... :P

Many men are trifling with women's abilities because most of them think that women will find it difficult to understand the concept of cryptocurrency. I personally believe that there are many women in the crypto space.

And also, most women prefer to be in the background. I have seen a lot of women here in the forum.  But maybe, they are skeptical when it comes to actual meet-ups or conferences. Some just want to make sure they are getting into the right venture because women are usually budgeting the money for the family. So they should not screw the budget for the family in uncertain activities.

Some of them dont have interest in crypto all they want is waiting for thier husbands profit  from trading in crypto and have money to go shopping.

Im a girl but it didnt stop me to engage myself in crypto, im open for opportunity that comes my way.

Lack of interest for some women might be the reason. You know most of women like a girly things like fashion, cooking, art, dance etc.

I think it's usually a misconception there are many women who are able to work with risk many women are moving forward in tandem with the boys. The reason for not being in crypto is that many people may not know about crypto because they do not accept it because it is not legal in their country there are also many women who have less patience and don't invest much for fear of losing money they generally trust the outside world more.

I think it is because women are very strategic in nature. They take their time and study in and out of everything.
The funny thing is that there are alot of female traders but WOMEN don't make noise

I think we see not so many woman in the crypto community because they are just not so interested. It's very similar to IT studies at university, most of the students are men, just because find it more attractive to work with computers and Internet on a daily basis. For woman is it more important to have daily interactions with other people than just to work at a computer all day.
