Title: Yabtcl - hacked account
Post by: hatshepsut93 on August 21, 2019, 08:56:31 PM
This is something that I've known for a long time, and probably should have reported earlier, yabtcl (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=92318) account on this forum was hacked.

This was confirmed in my personal conversation with yabtcl@yabtcl.com via email. You can also see that the account wasn't active since 2016, and it woke up once in 2018 when they stacked their address (obviously not the original owner).

The real owner said that they tried to contact the forum support in the past, and I suggested them to try it again when we had our conversation, but I don't know if they did.

The account was active 1 year ago.

Do you have any proofs of this hack?
We can ask him to sign a message from an old address, so we can be sure before tagging.

Edit: something is very suspicious really. He woke up after 2 of inactivity just to sign a message.

my bitcointalk id is 92318 (yabtcl). today is 16.03. my btc address is

By coincidence, I was the one who verified it.

However, as the account is inactive, there is no reason to tag I guess.

So what that it is inactive, it can wake up any day and be used to deceive a lot of users, as this is an account associated with an active gambling site. Notice that it has avatar/signature of some ICO crap, it was most likely bought by some bounty hunter, the hacker probably didn't realize that he got a valuable account. The harm could be much higher, they could change their ann thread to redirect people to fake copy of yabtcl.com and steal incoming deposits.

It's kinda strange that the account suddenly went silent, maybe it was banned? Can someone check this?

A few months ago I exchanged some emails with yabtcl@yabtcl.com regarding my account on their site, and they have mentioned that they lost access to their account on this forum because it was hacked. If you want, you can write them email yourself to verify it.

Ok, this really looks like a reason to tag him.

I checked on LoyceV tool http://loyce.club/bans/usernames.txt but couldn't find him. That account is, according to Loyce data, not banned.

Edit: I tagged him and put a message so he can PM me in case he ever recovers his account.

Indeed, I see that this user has been banned
