I sent some merits from what I earned (217 so far), and I want to give rest of my sendable merits away (31 sendable merits left so far). Today, I announce the sendable merit-give-away contest, for Full Member rank and below.
I wish that the contest will give you motivation to keep doing good posts, as one of your minor contributions to make better forum, by reducing trash posts.

- Applied posts must be made within the last 2 weeks.
- I will look at your applied posts and your post history before sending you my sendable merits.
- You should be a English poster to join the contest (because I don't know your local languages).
- Please re-apply after 30-days.

Haven given out 217 merits so far, what stops you from giving out the remaining 31 to the deserving posts? There are thousands of deserving posts (that has no merits) in almost all the threads. So much that they are practically too easy to find.

You simply do not need help nor contest to give out 1merit per post for 31 posts. You guys are creating unnecessary threads that should have no place in this forum, and allowing it to thrive is a travesty to the noble intention of this forum and it's merit base system.

Not sure how many sendable merits I sent, but I have 31 smerits available to give away. The sort of contest is legally, like signature campaigns or bounties, if managers manage them well.
Signature campaigns can be stopped if they bring shits to forum, like Yobit.
Merit contest can be shut down too.

You and others who think you are deserve smerits from the contest, are always welcome here.
But not all applicants will win 1 smerit, due to their post quality (in history and in posts they applied here), and my smerits fund is limited.

Just relax for now.

I'm ok with your giveaway but the quoted part above is were I'm not ok with. Although it's your smerits and I don't have rights to dictate how you spend them still excluding those boards above isn't helping the spam problem. There are quality contributors on those board, i can testify that since I'm a regular visitor excluding bitcoin discussion board.

Those boards aren't recieving enough audience from meriters and when giveaways like this pop up it would had been nice to highlight the quality posts on those boards especially Altcoin discussion. The boards you're thinking of meriting post from already have a fair chance of recieving merit, giveways should give users a chance who on a regular day, have zero chances of getting merit even though their post are high quality and the excluded boards are where such chances can be found in their numbers.

Well I don't consider this thread as unnecessary what dev is trying to do is to encourage users to start making good and quality posts, and in other to save himself the time of going through the entire forum looking for posts he require users apply for the smerit then he check the out.

Yes, posts / threads, all accepted.
Threads usually require posters spend more time, and more efforts to read documents, articles, and so forth to compose threads. Nevertheless, it does not automatically mean threads are better than posts, in quality.

I think that poster should give usernames of two accounts scammed him/her. Then people can learn better from it, how scammers do their works with nearly same usernames of two accounts. I will send 1 merit if that post edited. Not sure he or she will do it. Anyway, thank you for pinpointing that post.

Why you should not check your post history, only first page?
How many posts in first page are one-line posts?
How about their post quality in your self-assessment?

Then, checking post history of winners in my contest. I think you will find out answer yourself.

There is a truth that post length is not a guarentee for post quality, but if someone mainly makes one-line posts, it is a good indicator for not good post quality.

I would rather make short on the point posts than the three line post which says the same thing.

It's a bit off topic but I just check around your post history and find that you're usually mistaken between "who" and "whom". It's not a very common mistake though.

It is not a serious fault for user who/whom/whose/which/that don't use English as a first language. For a long time, since the day I left school, I have not yet check basic English grammar. Thank you for the warning.

Minor faults do not change average post quality or seriously change a good post to a shit one. You can write a perfect sentence, in vocabulary and grammar, but it neither does make your post looks helpful nor creative.

It is a bad day for all applicants today when their applications all rejected but please neither being sad nor give up guys. I have a truth to tell you:

Sometimes you will not only win the contest, but also receive more merits (than the promised-amount in OP) for good posts in your post history (the ones you even don't apply here). Additionally, you can received merits from the others (not only from me).

Mate, you should also update your total available sMerits for this contest in OP for the participants to know what they are applying for now. Asked this because your previous OP edit was on Dec 24, 2019.

Thank you. I added it but I don't think it is necessary because there are little applicants in my contest so far, and I have never run out of my merits. I gave away some, and earned some more so my budget remains almost unchanged.

There are some disadvantages from your applied posts, lack of examples. You guided newbies but there are not given sites for them to learn, train, etc. If you have clear things in mind when you write your guides, you should present those threads better with examples.

Let imagine if I am reader, which site I should go to learn (with your last applied post). It is a sort of challenge to readers and newbies. What you write and guide are toooo general.

By the way, I think one user maybe awarded more than 1 merit from you, depending on his quality. It's kind of unfair if a user with only a few worthy posts receive the same amount with a full of quality posts user. It' just my humble thought. Of course the decision is on you. It's your game, your rules ;D.

Op merited a participants that the post is already merit but as of now I am not sure if will reward posts that received merits already. Let's wait for op to clarify this matter. Also, there is not a single rule there that merited posts are not allowed to do here. I think it's because I lack 20% of merit before achieving next rank.

I intend to make my smerit giveaways for good users with good posts. I don't care that the applied posts are already merited by the others or not. The same goes for how much merits they have earned before making their applications here.

I stand to be corrected if I'm wrong but all evidence points to the contrary which implies to a large extent that I am right and that is:
Most users to have pulled this thread from down below have forgotten to read through it details to realize that this thread was last edited by OP creator in January 7th, 2020 and this is 11th September, 2020. And it was rightly said that, posts as at then most be 2weeks old to qualify and the available smerits were just 36. Judging from these few details, don't you guys think that this thread most have been done with by now until edited again by creator of OP? And the 36smerit most have been exhausted by now?.
This post should really not have been brought forth at this point any more. Don't let the drive for merits make you skip the vital details in the posts of the forum. It doesn't help.
