1oz .9999 FINE GOLD "BITCOIN" ROUNDS (2019 / 3rd Year)

(image is of 2017 rounds)

2019 MINTAGE:
There are 7 - 39mm 1oz .9999 fine gold coins.

PRICE:
SOLD OUT.

SHIPPING:
Worldwide = Free
Shipping will take place reasonably quickly once ordered as the coins are in hand.
Coins will be shipped in plastic airtite capsules.

GOAL:
I wanted to create something that could be updated annually and fill the role of a traditional style coin such as an American Eagle for the Bitcoin community without including any sort of company branding.  This is the third year (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1923548.0) these 1oz gold rounds have been made available.

ORIGIN:
This coin was originally designed by Mick Bruce of MJBMonetaryMetals back in 2011.  Mick created the first silver Bitcoin themed coins with his 1 gram silver rounds (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=23256.0) but this 1oz project never made it off the drawing board.  When trying to determine what design should be used for a traditional bullion style coin, the choice seemed obvious for me.  All this coin needed was some updated binary, and I had plenty of ideas about that.

That's how I receive them from the mint.  I then place them in capsules with foam inserts.

Any plans for a 2020 release of this coin?
Maybe around August again?

I don’t see it happening.

This coin was listed on the website today and marked as available for sale. I placed an order, however, I have since received notice that it is in fact sold out. At this time, I have not yet received a refund. Wanted to post this message here to inform others that this coin is sold out and to simply say: do not place an order for this coin to avoid the hassle that I am currently in.

I hope I receive a refund soon, and can update the status accordingly here once I do.

yea I went to order some and saw some that say they are sold here on this thread as being available on the site and skipped the order - hard to know what is actually available if site is not updated.

I alerted nonnakip when they sold out. He received 2 orders between when they sold out and when the site was updated. Anyone who ordered a sold out coin in the short time period they were still listed on the shop will get their BTC back. I’m happy to assist any way I can and obviously your BTC is not in jeopardy.

Did we think these weren't going to sell out when they were priced 10% under spot price?

Let’s try and keep things civil. It was a great deal, a rush of orders came in, and this is an issue that has never come up before. I know nonnakip does all this for the community without compensation and with all that is going on in the world I don’t think that a little patience is out of line to ask for. Especially considering the current time in Germany.

I don't think anyone is complaining about that - just commenting that the website was not up to date. I have had good dealings with you FFrankie but sometimes you are like a different person.

Agreed - Not trying to derail the conversation. I am certainly understanding of the fact that the current local time prevents an immediately refund at the moment.

As Mopar just said, neither of us are complaining about the stock / selling out. It is expected given the price, and frankly even without a below spot price, surely inventory was pretty limited as is. I am not even complaining about the website not being updated immediately - I understand delays can stem from communication gaps about inventory etc.  It was simply my attempt to state the facts here and give an update to others so that they do not attempt to order something that is no longer available.

Update: At the current time, no refund has been provided. All required proof of purchase has been submitted, and it has been made clear that if the proof of purchase won’t be accepted then a refund to the payment address is acceptable.

Another update: Refund has been made but has not confirmed. Was sent with a mere 10 sats / byte fee which is very low at the current moment. I have since created another transaction to "unstick" this at well over 200+ sats / byte. I will lose money as a result, but at this point, I don't care.

Why was the refund sent with such a blatantly low tx fee??
is this some sort of revenge on you not receiving your funds back properly in a timely manner?
bad form!

Well btc jumped 10% or so since your purchase and since your purchase was in usd but btc based one could argue you made $ no? Since btc increased after you paid and you got a refund?

Cause he could have refunded you 1750 at current time and that would be less btc than you sent. That would probably have caused a riot tho

He merely said you turned a fiat profit. You did.

But lets analyze it a bit more.

match it against golds price and could you buy a gold 1 oz coin right now with the btc returned to you?

The answer is no since it is yet to clear correct?

So rather then bitch and moan right now wait for it to clear and lets us know if the mistake helped or hurt you.  At the moment btc could moon to 16000 and when the coin is released to you you will have scored.

Or btc could crash and you would be fucked.

Am I correct?

I would not be asking for 3x my BTC back if BTC crashed to 3k.

The inverse reveals the failure of logic.

Final Update: TX confirmed, likely due to my CPFP follow-up which increased the fee from 250+ sats / byte from 10 sats / byte. The latter would have likely taken much longer to confirm, if ever.

i still dont have an answer.

i never said you were getting more or less btc .

getting the same amount of btc back is not my question.

my point is you have no idea of the outcome of this transaction until the btc comes back to you and is confirmed.

so once again are you getting the same amount of btc you gave him yes or no?

and has it confirmed as of this moment?

do you actually think I am siding against you and for Og?

I am not. In fact years ago once upon a time Og refused to pay someone his btc even though I knew who the person was. I offered to escrow for that to fix it and Og said no.

I removed him from my trust list as I thought he was wrong.

Back to you Did you get your coin confirmed as of now?
did you get the same amount of coin back?

Let me answer these two questions at least. The transaction has in fact confirmed at this time (see previous answer in bold above). The BTC amount refunded was the purchase price + fees paid, however, this does not count the fees incurred for CPFP that was required to get this TX confirmed. As stated above, the supplied fee for this refund was 10 sats / byte. Given the current mempool, this is a severely underpriced fee. The CPFP tx I made bumped this up to 250+ sats / byte, which exceeded the market rate by over 2x. In short, I have lost money through this process, but this allowed me to receive the refund with certainty, since a dropped tx in the mempool would mean we are back to square 1.

Items in the shop are priced in USD, payable in BTC. The prices shown in BTC change with the exchange rate. Anyone saying otherwise is wrong.

I’m glad this issue is resolved and that I was able to help these users get a faster resolution than would have taken place otherwise. I’m shocked with the lack of patience, but this is why no coin makers stick around in this community for long. Since these have all been sold and all issues surrounding them resolved, I’m locking the thread. Hope everyone is enjoying this increase in BTC as much as I am.  ;D
