Phishing is used to steal users data, passwords, private keys,
login information, credit card info, and any other valuable information.
Scammers create duplicate website or email with few modifications,
and ask people to send them their information.

So in a way they need to trow you a bait (read human greed),
and if you catch the bait you become a victim of Phishing,
just like a fisherman uses a bait for fishes.

Internet waters are deep with many 'sharks', so you need to always keep your eyes opened,
and you need to educate yourself to avoid becoming a victim.

Fishing is most likely problem 2019 all over country training center teach how to protect cybersecurity in-country  So far all is well, After the training is over, they start performing all the deleterious things they do even though they think it's omnipresent.

I took the Binance quiz a few months ago (see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5144259.msg51092302#msg51092302) and it was rather entertaining. The thing is that, when taking these quizzes, we know the context they are in, and thus are fully focused on what to look for. Unfortunately, in our day to day we may well not be as focused, and even less for those that are barely aware of how these things take place. The quizzes linked in the OP can help to mitigate this a notch, and raise awareness on what to look out for.

I've tried two of those quizzes and it has started to be fun.
Good effort but I hope that browsers add a feature to avoid phishing so that the browser provides a protection edition even if the user is not expert.
Some of them must be included in the welcome message.


Host-file modified: Either be strict or not useful. Because either ban all sites other than those in Host-file. Or ban some sites.
Remember, scam/phishing does not stop but is developing rapidly.

I do hope also that browsers improve protection for phishing, maybe by making users learn protection in some fun way.
Meanwhile we can install few extensions (Metamask, Malwarebytes...), that are also not perfect, but they help a bit.

and you will learn how to protect yourself not just in crypto space,

This thread's actually quite useful. I took the Google quiz and I got 6/8, mostly with the last few questions as the details that would suggest that one of those emails was actually a phishing email were very small, though with most of them you're able to tell whether or not an email is legit or phishing just by checking the email address from where it was sent from. Pretty good refresher for what I already know and a few newer methods phishers use nowadays.

It is the mostly use scheme to steal your account credentials then steal your funds stored in your account. There is actually to avoid getting phished and that is mentioned above already like the host file or using an website blocker that is safe to use for everyone who want to use. Dude, nice try and it's funny about the bold letter in the quote above.

Just to get some perspective in general terms, Google’s research expert lead on security, Elie Bursztein, provided some interesting numbers in relation to Gmail specific phishing (https://elie.net/static/files/deconstructing-the-phishing-campaigns-that-target-gmail-users/deconstructing-the-phishing-campaigns-that-target-gmail-users-slides.pdf):

-   Everyday, Gmail blocks over 100M phishing emails. That is astronomical.
-   68% of blocked phishing Gmail emails are different from one day to another.
-   Phishing campaigns tend to be short: 7 minutes for boutique campaigns and 13 hour for bulk.
-   Phising attemps to impersonate Email providers (42%), Cloud Services (25%), Financial institutions (13%), eCommerce (5%), Delivery Companies (3,9%)
-   45% of internet are not aware of what phishing is.

Just get a 6/8 for the number one quiz, I have a minimal knowledge with this kind of things but I guess I can cope with it, really great thread to practice your learning about this fraudulent acts especially phishing a simple mistake with this may lead to a bigger problem to you.

Woah, that's a immense number I suppose remember how many individuals do use online transactions everyday using e-mail, may this quiz or other quizzes may reduce that number.

Everyone should try this quizzes, and for newbies this is something they MUST do.
I saw so many cases where people deceived, and they either lost their coins or login information for account.

I don't have much experience with WU transfers. I have sent and received only a handful in my life. Still, most of the test questions are based on logic and common sense. As long as you are naturally careful and have a habit of verifying facts before you do things you might regret, you should be fine.

In my opinion, the phishing quiz will help you understand the things that you have to consider with regards to websites. For instance, we should check the domain carefully and anticipate typographical errors because it is the common things that we have to examine to secure our data from scammers and hackers. Thus, we should make time learning about safety when it comes to visiting a website because cyber criminals never stops on tricking people. I've tried the second on the list and luckily, I got 12 out of 14.

Phishing is the easiest way to hack, when the user is not aware of anything and therefore it is easy to be convinced to submit some important data.
I expect that people who are exposed to such deception will learn and thus this method will decrease and the two cases will search for new ways to deceive others.
If someone believes this is a scam, he is stupid and deserves to lose some money to learn

I did several tests and it seems that I'd fall victim in one of these if enough phishing attempts are done to me. anyway, even if I failed most of the test it was great to learn something and to know that, some phishing site attempts are so convincing that even those who expect it might still fall victim to such things.

I took this test real quick. Made a mistake with the question for Dropbox. The email address it was sent from looked weird but it turns out it is legit. Didn't feel like double checking the address via a search engine, hence the mistake.

I got 9 out of 10 correct, and I am a Wannabe Neo  ;D

Could you resize your images to smaller ones (like I do with width=250) to help loading the page faster and save bandwith for people who have limited Internet connections.

Already tried and the results are bad. Sender and link attacks are easy to disguise and if not meticulous this is a danger. Sad, I'm still very bad at detecting phishing attacks, it seems I have to carefully analyze. This is very interesting and useful for careful training.

One of the questions made me fooled, so the results look like the picture above. Luckily this is just practice. :)

No one is perfect and everyone is in learning stages all the time. Don't be disappointed if you got few or most of questions wrong. At least you are better then those who never tried to learn. I am sure you would have learn new things about the phishing and that's the purpose.  :)

That was great and would like to test out other phishing quiz next time. I hope I can make a high score to other phishing quiz higher than this what I had right now in this quiz.
