Congratulations, you're one of the most active users on the forum in the last few months(most especially in meta). And I've actually come across almost all the threads you've made within that period, and really you put in a quality(decent)amount of effort into constructing your posts, and that's the reason for your spontaneous rise to the snr member rank.

I do not think you spent up to a month as a full member, and that's quite an achievement really, considering the large amount of merits is needed to cross each hurdle(rank).
You're a good poster and will continue to rank up no doubt, congratulations, keep it up.

I don't know you personally, but I consider you a trusted active member of Bitcointalk forum,
creating interesting content and helping other members.
See you at station Hero  ;)

I really admire this guy, we had a few conversations and I know he has a target on when to reach his Hero status.  ;D. And I'm pretty sure that he can hit that target because of the contributions he has given to this community so keep it up dude!!!

Wish you luck with your trip to hero. I think that you will become one of those guys that are waiting for activity to rank up since you have only 195 merits to earn in 102 days = 1,9 merits/day - that should be easy with your 289 merits/ 120 days = 2.4 merits/day - you must be damn good quality poster :)

I remember when i become self-made senior member in April 19, 2019. In a blink of an eye i'm close to hero. Wish you the same.

Hope they will be able to reach their next target very soon.

Congratulations for rank up, you have done a good job, this start.
Your first topic is excellent because it highlighted some of userscripts that make it a lot of time and that made me start using them.
Don't think of Merit, let it came to you.

This is so true that both of you deserved this promotion. I am very happy to see OP as a senior member and @TytanowyJanusz as a hero member (very soon).

Congratulations to both of you (self-made senior members) because ranking up is not so easy these days. Additionally, wish you good luck in the journey to the next rank.

Great work hd49728 and fantastic accomplishment.
Because of people like you, this forum is so much famous and no 1 in the crypto world.
You really contributed so much to this forum and sometimes I feel sorry that people like you have to wait so much for promotion because of merit requirements.
Some people joined before and reached higher ranks on the forum without much effort but it's life, I guess.
Just go on with your great work here!

This is the main reason why I think merit system is getting effective each and every time. Regardless of how many users (sr.rank below) are complaining especially the newbies that it isn't fair. The counterpart of this merit system that needs to be "merited" lol is that it somehow encourage real users to step up their game.

Great Job OP!, I think that soon it will be your responsibility to find quality posters as well for you to encourage  :)

I really appreciate your effort and contribution to the forum, but don't just hunt for merit keep you as yourself and everything will follow up.

Congratulations bud, I'm out of smerits if not you would had gotten some encouragement for me. I was once in your shoes so I know the feelings. Its quite easy to rank up to further ranks once you discovered the secret behind getting merited. It's no rocket science like most newbies presume it to be. Just contribute positively and your works won't go unrewarded.

The Merit system wasn't implemented to hinder an quality members chances of ranking up so it's a good news seeing members putting effort into their post quality recieving the merits they deserve. Congratulations once again.

With the post quality he has and the time and effort he puts under each one of them I don't think that he is one of those users expecting a merit back on each time he creates post, you will see that on each post he creates he really wants to help and contribute to the forum which in most cases is what attracts the merits sources and generous senders to give merits to him. I saw OP was very active on Beginners and Help board, helping newbies and contributing a good and very informative post. That is considered as a quality poster. Good luck to your next journey I know you give more time to spend in the forum and contribute knowledgeable ideas to the community very well. Keep it up. ;)

More and more threads like this start to appear, that means that the system is working properly. :)
It is now evident that the merit system is really serving its purpose. :)

I think this is what happens when we take things, such as the merit system, as an opportunity to make oursleves better instead of seeing it negatively. And it would be much better if we keep it that way. Who knows that one of these days, we'll also be able to see ourselves as a more knowledgable person in this field and on the plus side, see our accounts ranked up. ;)

Anyway, congratulations OP! It's so nice to see somebody who is so generous in helping out others. Just keep it up, continue to serve as an inspiration to all, and keep your feet on the ground. All of us should. :) Kudos to you!

This is my first time I told about my adventure, previously I simply worked in silence.

I much appreciated all of kinds words from all of you, guys. You gave me more strength to fight and win with my current challenge, that actually a big one, but not too far from now. Less than 200 more merits, less than what I earned by now, so I will made it.

Especially, I much appreciated @LoyceV, and @TMAN, whom gave me big rewards, and sure those merits from TMAN and others serve as strong evidence of recognition and appreciation from community on my works.

I agreed with @iasenko that merit system has been repeatedly demonstrated its positive effects in forum, by good users whom never stop ranking up along with the system.

I am going to use my sendable merits wisely (for my contest, and for whichever good posts I see).

Once again, thank you all.

There are quite already many people who does climb up on the ranks, just like the OP, and as for someone who always make their contribution to help others getting Big Number of Merits isn't a lucky scenario, Besides they truly deserve them. I haven't been around Meta and B&H recently but AFAICS there are a lot of users who recognize hd49728. I might as well read you're post and try to give what you deserve later on.

But still knowing TMAN and suchmoon, only few users does they recognize as deserving ones so OP is sure one of those. They rarely give those numbers to users. Good Day and Good Luck to All! Getting Merits isn't that hard to achieve for we have already many Sources out there whose willing to help as long as these users deserves them.

Appreciated your recognition on my works, so far, @cabalism13. TBH, what @TMAN, @LoyceV, and @Vod gave me are more than recognition, because they have very strict criteria when they send smerits, especially if they decide to send someone a bunch of merits at once.
I also feel that the bitcointalk community accepted me very well and i'm really happy about that.

I can't speak for TMAN and Vod, but my criteria "depend on the circumstances": I've merited many Newbies just for being real users and not spammers. That's what this forum needs to grow.

In your case, I did this (taken slightly out of context):
~if they have decent posts, by all means, give them the 250 or 500 merit that they need to rank-up.
I've done that a few times now: when I see a user close to ranking up, I search for a few posts to Merit.

It is not difficult to find good posts to merit from good posters, but if I am correct, you only changed your meriting style recent months. I read months ago that you wanted to maintain your meriting style as one merit for one good post.
Looks like I am lucky when I regularly made good posts in the period you already changed your meriting style.

This depends on my source amount, it's a lot of work to empty my source with one at a time, so when my stash grows, I send more per post.

Rather than bumping each of my topics, I bump the one to avoid congestion in the board. I moved the topic from Meta to Beginners & Help because I guess it will be more helpful with appearance in B&H.

Now let's find what you need in my topic list.

Good move, this is a very good example for young members and it's more appropriate for this topic to be here.
I took a little look at your posts and they are really high quality, it's obvious that you put a lot of effort into them.
I'm glad to see that the younger members are working so hard and helping others with their constructive posts.
Congratulation hd49728  and wish you to become legendary soon!

Lots of users (from both old- and new-era generations as what DdmrDdmr categorised newbie users) complain that why their 'good, constructive, helpful' posts don't receive any merit. They forget that as human instinct, people tend to think what they do is good or best but it is not what the others think about their products (in the forum, posts).

It is my great honor to read what you thought about my post quality. Your compliment above gives me more motivation to keep moving onwards, with good posts, certainly.

This one is a bump for my topic, after two weeks but this time, I want to say "Happy New Year to everyone"

I wish that my wish will become true in next 5 months.
wish that I will be a Hero member before the bitcoin halving, around 9 more months to go.

You've created some quality topics.

I wish that my wish will become true in next 5 months.
wish that I will be a Hero member before the bitcoin halving, around 9 more months to go.
Make that before January 31, 2020.

You've finally crossed that 400 merit mark. Reaching the 500th will be much faster. Congrats on becoming a Hero by January 31, 2020.

It is a challenge, definitely. I only think I can make it around the end of February next year.

100 more merits is not the easy thing to hit in one shot, sometimes merit does not come after continuous days, but sometimes it comes as merit raindrops. What I can do is doing what belongs to my posting behaviour.

I became a Senior Member this week, and it is the biggest thing I have in the forum, by now.
Gratz :), its a thing actually as your topic list shown.
Entering here i was hoping its about Bitcoin from zero to hero.
Its about this forum tho, which is also good but would love to see such list for Bitcoin. Read this set of topics to become from zero to Bitcoin hero :)

You are almost going up to the next rank, you only need a little time and greater effort to move on and I hope you will reach the rank of hero soon. And now you only need 80 more merit to reach that rank, never stop and keep trying until you can prove that the merit system cannot prevent you from going up in rank. I have proven, if you continue to contribute, I am sure that effort will not be in vain.

It is either close or far, in my opinion. I can hit it fastly, in a blink of eyes but I can also wait for weeks or months to reach that. Good thing is eventually I will become a Hero Member. Merit can not stop me ranking up to that rank. I only need 47 more merits, not much.

Sure I am going to do this. Even when I become a Hero Member, I am going to move forwards with my contributions and good quality posts.

Yes, I do not doubt your ability and merit will not stop anyone including you if it can have a positive impact on the forum and its users. when I was like you at that time, I have a machine that is hot enough so I can run fast enough and reach it right before my 3rd birthday in the forum. I hope you can reach the hero ranking right before March. 33 more, mate.

Seeing yours and many other forum members' stories inspire everyone here who just complain about not getting merits and/or stop putting efforts and just leave the forum. Though, it is for the good of the forum itself that if people leave because they had the fear of not getting merited and ranked up, either it meant that they knew that they were not posting quality content with higher efforts or they didn't have the courage to fight it back. You, my friend, are an inspiration here to me, to everyone here who wants to achieve merits because merits are a token of appreciation for a work done with good will, a work done with some efforts that can be seen in your posts, a work done with a mentality to fight the fear of merits and just do it. I'm sorry I don't have merits to share else I'd have given all of them to you, mate. :) Good luck with your achievements and may you become a legendary member this year itself.

Title: Re: Roadway from zero to hero (with 22 topics) - 34 more merits. Let's count down
Post by: minairia3 on February 18, 2020, 02:06:23 AM
33 merits is close actually. I think you'll be Hero rank in no time. Most users are often noticed when someone is close to ranking. They sometime consider it giving if the user is really deserving.

See this? People appreciate most users and I know some of people here dont like thread like this cause of becoming a trend but they dont see the worth of this post to the one created it. If only I have some smerits too. I'l help you as I see your really deserving guy as I reviewed your post.  Comgrats in advance.

Complain does not help themselves and the forum. I doubt that after complaining and warning that they will leave the forum, how many of them actually left the forum?

Yes, I see it now, friend. Congratulations on achieving your new ranking from zero to hero and amazing because there are only a few users who get it.

And now what about Legendary, I tried hard to get there and I hope you have to go there too and reach 1000 merit. By the way, my merit income has been slower lately than before when I was senior. I didnt expect it to show that the quality of my posts has declined, its just that I dont have many ideas for making threads. Because the merit is given based on the decisions and ratings of others on the quality of posts, I just try to post the best and that is what I continue to do. 555 will soon be stored as a unique number to remember throughout my trip to the Legendary member.

Lets prove 1000 merit is not impossible for you and me and we can reach Legendary ranks, applause. ;)

The flow of merits overtime varies for multiple reasons, and that does not necessarily correlate to a decline in post content quality/interest on one’s behalf. This is a summary of your merits so far (up to last Friday):

And this is the one for the OP (congrats by the way):

(I’ve noticed some numbers go amiss on one of the charts, which I’ll take a look into later).

True, you made 22 quality topics so it just shows that you really deserve to be merited. Just keep it up and create more quality topics. I hope that I'll be also noticed by merit whales since I've made 23 existing topics in our local. Anyways, congrats again!

People say that forum users tend to send more merits to lower rank members and your merit hunting pace (just call it like that) will be slow down when you are Hero member. I don't know that there are figures to prove that theory.

Thank you for you appreciation but the Legendary rank is a big challenge for me and it might take me next one year and a half to get closer to the 1000 merit counts.

Thank you. From your merit dashboard, on the page for my account, I received more than 60 percent (320/505) of my merits from Legendary members, and about 20% (100/505) from Hero members.

Sure. It took me decent time to read, learn, and write them down. You too, finaleshot2016. I wish you will be promoted to Legendary rank, next one or two months.
