there are to many spam in altcoin board, especially in announcement board. since there are many advertising company that offering  their client to shiling the project, member of advertising company doing spam by creating new thread in announcement board.

my suggestion to avoiding this, by make 'newbie' can't create a thread except in 'meta' board. i found many newbies creating new thread and doing spam.

I agree that purely newbies should not be allowed to create ANNs, that privilege should be given to copper members and above only but I do not agree that they can only post on Meta. This board will be infested if admin will implement your suggestion.

Newbies already have several restrictions like: can not post image, can not create a pool (if I am not wrong), 360 seconds of cool down period and few more I can not remember them right now.

If we give too many restrictions then it's very unfair for them. Once a newbie is a Legendary today. There will be spam, scam and every negative things you can think of but there will also be good promising new comers too. We need to embrace them.

This is being too hard on the new comers. It's not like every newbie here has intentions of spamming around. If you put up so may restrictions on newbies then it will discourage some genuine users from joining and posting.

Let the spammers spam if they want, our job is to report spam if were see any and their comments get deleted or profiles get nuked.

Thanks to the merit system, They will never be able to rank up and with time they will realize that their 1000+ activity accounts will still be of no value at all in the forum.

IMO, [ANN] threads should only be allowed if they are started by a forum account which is verifiably linked directly to the entity about which the Announcement is being made, whether by confirmed email address or rl management identity.
So many scam [ANN]s are started by third party or throwaway accounts which take no responsibility for misinformation, deployment of bumping services and other spam in the thread, or are able or willing to respond to requests for clarification or elaboration of claims made by the OP on behalf of the scheme being announced.

Tl,dr: If a project's management are not willing to make their own BCT announcements, why should they be given a plausible deniability platform?

With that kind of rule not only you are affecting the spammers who are newbies but also the normal newbies trying to create sensible posts on any thread, you are basically violating their freedom of speech with this kind of method as it essentially affects everyone including the sensible persons. I would still resort to on reporting the posts of spammers on my own and maybe other members who wants to clean the forum from spam as well. Maybe add another Mod or two to speed up the process. If we unite on reporting them then they'll either start to change for the good or be pissed of and quit Bitcointalk on their own.

pretty simple, just report them...
if they are reported for spamming too much, they will be nuked
if they are reported for plagiarising content, they will be banned

do your own research, forum doesn't moderate scam

There are many reasons to spam.Many of those new ones do not understand.There are some important rules for those of us who are new.If we follow that rules, Bitcointalk seems to be easy about.We can always do the work of senior people.I hope we do not face any problems.I see very well in bitcointalk that people who don't know that they are pasting spam copy are more likely to have problems.There are some important rules to adhere to [Suspicious link removed] we hope to follow the rules of bitcointalk.Senior people should follow at all times.

first, about restrictions for newbie account; i found many meaningless thread, like engaging project but posted in announcement board. its like trash everywere. yes, i know that newbie has many restriction, but posting new useless thread is anoying. report and ban is not the best choice, cause people can create new account and pay few satoshi so they can do spam again.


you are right. thats why i suggesting only post in meta. or give restriction they can't post in announcement board, atleast announcement board will clear.
