It's really funny to see how many people are claiming they are Satoshi Nakamoto !

I thought that there are only a few people, but it turned much more people after doing my research.

Pretty much anyone with fluent English, good knowledge of programming languages and cryptocurrencies can claim to be Satoshi. Moreover, even people without some of these features can try. It's not even about being Satoshi, receiving the credit. I think it's about cheap and effective marketing. You can be a nobody who needs to popularise a service, and then you make a revelation story that you are the mysterious Satoshi, and boom, people are now talking about you, writing press releases, reading your content.

People claim themselves as Satoshi to gain attention, but they can't even give a single proof or evidence. No one can stop them unless the truth is finally revealed, Satoshi wants to hide his/their real identity and that's why some people take some advantage and claim that they are someone else because they think they can get some benefits from it.

^ Definitely right, they just want self-exposure and claiming the real Satoshi or something promoting their site pretending a founder of Bitcoin. Nevertheless, if they can't sign a message on bitcoin address that used last mined by Satoshi then, they are not real. Just pretending for the sake of their selves and gain attention to the public and the crypto enthusiasts as well. Do you think if the real Satoshi will reveal the real identity can help the market grow?

The fact that there are a good number(and increasing) of people claiming to be the real Satoshi only somewhat proves how crappy and useless these claims are. It's becoming more and more obvious that they're doing it for personal gain, knowing that some of them are trying to promote a platform- CSW's BSV, and James Bilal's Satoshi Nakamoto Renaissance Holdings.

It's pretty simple. Sign a signature, or move funds from the genesis address. They thought they could convince the people by fabricating stories.

The real Satoshi Nakamoto, if the real one lost his private key, will have a very hard time claiming that he is the real Satoshi Nakamoto with so many people claiming to be the real one, each one with a different story that revolves how they create Bitcoin.

I'm ok if the real one will not come out anymore, Bitcoin is in good hands with the community support, but in the back of our minds, we are also getting excited if the real Nakamoto surface.

but these people who claim to be Satoshi They are all just playing our curiosity, in the end, they have an interest to promote to the community, Like Craig Wright's coin.

Yes there are so many who claims tobe Satoshi but the real question is how many people are inside the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto.
We couldn't be so sure that there is only 1 person behind it .
Who knows maybe some of them are the person behind the name Satoshi Nakamoto.

Well anyone has the freedom to claim that their Satoshi! I mean, who does not want to be Satoshi Nakamoto? On the contrary, they are putting themselves the risk of being hijacked or kidnapped if ever SOMEONE actually believed their claims.

Over the years, there have been few posts about knowing the real identity of Satoshi Nakamoto. Many have been speculating and making guesses about his identity but I think people should move on about this information and focus on stuff that would contribute more to the blockchain or cryptocurrencies in general.

I don't know what is the gain of that claiming that they are Satoshi Nakamoto, all I know is that he chose to hide for years and years, why would he just appear and say that it is him? He can just make a thread here and say my name is....done. As long as that account is inactive, I will not believe any claims of people saying they are Satoshi.

I would say it has become a big joke this whole story. a few months ago I saw this:

Still now those have claimed that they are satoshi nakamoto they had not provide valid and acceptable evidence on behalf of their claim. So there is no way to prove ownership of bitcoin creator. What I believe, satoshi nakamoto would remain anonymous but faketoshi claim would be remain. To be honest when I see claim about satoshi nakamoto claim I just avoid it since there is no sign message from satoshi address.

I would only trust in a person claiming to be Satoshi if he or she or the group can access the account of this forum and post here
About the keys, I suspect that real satoshi never lost the keys, it's a false information  ;D

Someone could access Satoshi's forum account if that gmx email he used will be compromised. The ultimate test would be the sign message nad probably sending a btc fomr satoshi's wallet. Unfortunately non of these people has successfully provide a verified sign message.  Craig Wright though not enough, has been very strong to his claim that he will pay a ton of BTC for Kleiman's percentage.

It is also unclear whether it represents someone who really exists, or a certain group or institution. Speculation issued about the creator of Bitcoin attracted a lot of attention. This mysterious figure even perched on the position of the 44th richest person in the world! Without anyone knowing who actually discovered Bitcoin. Well, but there are already many people who speculate.

These are all just a bunch of fraudsters!
 I hear one such fraudster by the name of CW has a case to answer in court after faking some documents and all this has resulted in the court  ordering him to surrender over 500k worth of btc and other monies amounting to over 4million dollars.

These fraudsters are everywhere trying to fool the people with their claims that is obviously a fabricated story. A quick and simple sign message with the address of Satoshi will make everyone to turn their head to the real Satoshi. For now, if anyone tries to make a story again without that signed message then it's obviously a fail attempt.

I'm not too surprised to see how people try to use the name of a well-reputed personality who decided to work under the hood from the very beginning of Bitcoin and blockchain. But beware, while on one hand, every authority comes with a responsibility, such an Authority also possesses the type of side effects these guys are not even aware of. At least Bilal Khalid saved himself from paying anything to anybody (especially Hal Finney whom he described a lot about in his "fake reveal") as he declared that he lost everything from access to his privkeys to even his email addresses. But CSW is now reaping the bitter taste of something he reaped years ago as he was ordered to pay 50% of his BTC holdings (if he ever possessed BTC) that amounts to around $5 billion to Ira Kleiman. So, people should never try to steal something which isn't theirs as time turns out any time.

Bitcoin was created by Satoshi Nakamoto, but this person is not known of his existence and what his condition is.
So it is natural if many people claim to be Satoshi Nakamoto.
With the increasing popularity of Bitcoin, many irresponsible people want to exploit and commit fraud by claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto.
In addition, they cannot prove real that this person is the founder of Bitcoin. We must remain vigilant.

I wonder why they did not claim the name before when the Bitcoin price is just $0,01? Now that Bitcoin became  famous in which most of the nations accepted it then these people just appeared?I believe that they are claiming the name so that they could used much of the reputation credit for their own business agenda.

Since that Bitcoin that are in the real Satoshi's is not moving at all, they thought that it will never move and the real Satoshi loses his wallet's private keys, or the real Satoshi is now dead, they thought that they can make stories and claim they are the real one, because they can make the "lost the private key thing" story.

Everyone who came here claiming the real Satoshi has their own invented story, but instead of giving more insight about Bitcoin, there they go promoting or creating their own coin.

Every people can claim they are the real Satoshi Nakamoto, but they need to proves if they are the real one. They know how to show to the public, and they can do that with ease, but that is only if they are the real Satoshi. There will be many more people like them that will claim that they are the real Satoshi but as long as they cannot prove, then public will not believe, and people will only laugh and let them say what they want. With the popularity of bitcoin now, I guess that many people want to say they are Satoshi Nakamoto ;D

That's because they are not the real Satoshi in the first place. You can see the logic by yourself behind these public stunts. How ironic that they are the "true" Satoshi but can't even release a clear evidence — just pure self-proclaiming statements only. For me, they are just nothing but a bunch of famewh*res trying to direct media's attention into them and ahift it to their own business intentions. If I were you, I stop listening in this kind of drama because it is a pretty big waste of your time.

Usually, people are just interested to do something that can instantly bring big impacts. If they claimed it when Bitcoin was still not popular, I doubt people will care about it. While if they claim it now, it may become a trending topic on social media.  ;D

The information such this thing has made me confuse and I don't know why there are people especially some media who really try to input the information into their news and I think that is the bad thing. Because the prove that shown by someone who try to reveal that he is satoshi is not relevant most of them just give a delusion that can only be understood by himself. I just passed if I saw this information on some media and I just prefer to read the development of cryptocurrencies because it seems like really usefull compared I read the information.

Many people claimed they are real Satoshi Nakamoto, I don't know who are true or real Satoshi Nakamoto. Its not more important about who real of Satoshi Nakamoto.

Although a lot of people claiming to be Satoshi, no one or only few would believe them. I still don't get it why people would still claim they are Satoshi where in the first place, no one believed to the people who claim it first. What do they get from wasting time and effort trying to make evidence when no one's believing them.

Satoshi used to post in this forum for almost one year and his last post was in December 2010. He made more than 500 posts, and from the forum ID, it is clear that he was the 3rd user registered to this forum (Forum ID 1 and 2 were dummy accounts). He registered to this forum on November 19, 2009. Sirius was the fourth user and he joined a day later. It looks to me was Satoshi was involved in setting up this forum, along with Sirius and Theymos, and these guys may be aware about the real identity of Satoshi.

There is also another possibility that "Satoshi Nakamoto" represents a ream rather than a particular individual. In that case, I won't be surprised if Sirius and Theymos are part of the team. The case with Craig Wright is entirely different. Neither him, nor his boyfriend (Dave Kleiman) had an account in Bitcointalk before 2011.

the number is soon going to start declining as Craig Wright who is the father of all the scammers is now going to pay a ridiculously large amount of money since the court decided he is scamming. and that is a good lesson to all those who keep coming out and start scamming others by trying to steal Satoshi's identity.

Am I really the first person to point out that the OP is wrong? Most of those people have never claimed to be Satoshi and have publicly stated that they are not Satoshi.

Dorian Nakamoto has stated that he is not Satoshi.
Roger Ver has stated that he is not Satoshi.
Nick Szabo has stated that he is not Satoshi.
Paul Le Roux never claimed to be Satoshi, though there were many click-bait articles that said he might be.

Well some of them tried to claim to be satoshi nakamoto but they failed to prove that they are the real satoshi nakamoto by signing the bitcoin address which the genesis blocks was mined or his pgp key he used while he was active on bitcoin development. Only Craig S. Wright have a nerve claim himself as satoshi nakamoto despite of the whole community rejects him as he is satoshi nakamoto and he resorted to forgery and lawsuit against his critizers Now, his problems are getting bigger and bigger...

That is false. Only 3 of them have claimed to be Satoshi. The others have never claimed to be Satoshi.

I'm surprised at how many people here will believe anything that they read.

Because it's a great thing now to claim to be Satoshi because of good opportunities coming to them.

All of them are claiming to be legit Satoshi Nakamoto when there's a lot of achievements to be claimed but when the Bitcoin wasn't that good they ignore it. Some of them said that they lost the hard drive that will serve as proof of being Satoshi Nakamoto, how dumb is that? Everyone can say that they're Satoshi Nakamoto but for me, I'm just waiting for his revelations by posting in this forum, not in public.

They all claiming the name because bitcoin is now successful, had it been it's the other way round non of them will come out to claim the name,  I'm still optimistic that Satoshi Nakatomo will still remain anonymous.

For the real Satoshi Nakatomo to reveal his identity with a real proof, it might have a negative impact on bitcoin,  there by leading to an ethnic beef that  will results to a great FUD from both the media and government generally, the fact that Satoshi Nakatomo remain anonymous makes bitcoin to be what it is today

If government had declared satoshi wanted now, I am sure majority of them would start withdrawing their statement because they would not want to go to jail. It is just abnormal to have people just wake up from their bed one morning and then think to themselves to claim to be someone else. Is that not the beginning of madness/ and if they are to trace their blood stream very well, I am sure they will surely find some traces of alcohol in their body stream because that is the only way that they can be talking abnormally.

They are just doing those things anyway for popularity, and they have gotten one. Some has already come with disgrace and shame because I wonder how those people will face the world boldly when the real satoshi is proven. I am sure that we will still have a satoshi from Africa soon.

Everyone wants to be popular through a false claim, instead of them concentrating their energy to build something real. Well, the various claim further lay a deeper mystery to the identity of Satoshi, no one will ever believe them.

Nobody will not want to be identified with a good and innovation name. Satoshi has delivered millions of unbanked populace and it is still growing. If you want any online marketing to spread viral, it doesn't matter if you lack programming knowledge, people will want to read and write about your claim thereby hitting the main purpose why someone is doing so.

There must be so many benefits and advantages that anyone can derive from being recognized as the real Satoshi Nakamoto that is why many are claiming to be the real one when in fact we know the real truth. The name of Bitcoin's founder has had been utilized for many purposes especially on getting the attention of millions of cryptocurrency lovers.
