Title: Why transactions take so much time?
Post by: btc_love on August 30, 2019, 11:53:21 AM
Hello! To be honest, I'm so tired of waiting for transactions. I use changelly and I have to wait for my transaction for 5-30 minutes and that's exhausting. Do you know exchanges with faster transactions?

I am very familiar with changelly and yes they have transaction delays some times, this might be because of multiple users on queue so you have to wait, ive waited over 30 minutes using changelly to swap eth to btc months back, you can't so any thing about this but to wait, binance exchange is more faster likewise okex exchange

Sometimes transaction delays is cause by the network load for some instances the exchange platform also cause some delays. Since you are asking any exchange that more faster transaction, I recommend Binance because im using these exchange from 2017 til today for trading so far im satisfied with the quality of its services. you can try it if you want.

How would you feel if your transaction is stuck for more than an hour. I think that 5-30 minutes is a decent time to process your withdrawal. Unlike the experience that I have before, that waiting for me to be honest is acceptable.

The transaction time depends on the fee you paid for processing the transaction and also on the block time - the time when new block is mined. 1 Bitcoin block is mined almost every 10 minutes, while 1 block in Ethereum network is mined almost every 10-20 seconds.

I think for ethereum and eth based tokens the transactions are much faster now especially in the exchanges and wallets that im personally using, i have not tried changelly yet but i would suggest you learn some patience as 5 minutes wait is not so long, soon eth network is coming up with solutions for faster and cheaper transactions so just hang on for a little longer my friend.

5-30 minutes is still normal span of time waiting for me, if its 24hrs and still nothing received its time to message the support.

The reason that the exchange delays transactions may be that it does not have an absolute financial balance. In other words, the exchange needs to wait for a sufficient number of entrances to be enough for exits. I would be wary of those exchanges that do this.

It may depend on the trading platform you are using, with slow processing speeds, a large number of users at the time and a load compared to the capabilities of the trading platform you use. . Or maybe it's because the networks are down, wait patiently. However, to make quick transactions, I recommend using the binance platform, ...

Transaction speed also depends on the fee used. If the fee is cheap enough, the transaction will take longer. 5-30 minutes in my opinion is still reasonable. I even made a withdrawal in about 24 hours. network load also affects, sometimes there are some disruptions that require transactions in the pending first. If the transaction still does not complete, you can contact admin support.

transactions require processing, so it certainly takes time in each process, such as agreeing between blocks, so in my opinion, there is no exchange that has a transaction processing speed of under 5 minutes

Those exchange needs some amount of confirmation before funds gets released if the blockchain mining such coin is slow at that moment then transaction is slowed. If its not a transfer from exchange to wallet or wallet to exchange, if its inter wallet transfer always use higher fees it confirms fast.

The approval by the exchange managers plays a big role in such cases. The batch withdrawals are the first reasonably cause why this delay took our time. There is no way to do something else, we have to wait for the confirmation of transactions. Some exchanges can be faster than another, but there is only a little difference. But so long taking time can depend on the platform that you are using. Binance platform is the best among all platforms. In this platform, you will lose only 5-20 minutes.

Is transaction really taking longer recently? That could be a good sign you know. They other time something like this happened, price went up so high. Otherwise, it could be normal congestion due Bitcoin limited network capacity

Exchanges manually handle the request. It can take more time as well because you know in a reputed exchange, they get a lot of withdrawal to process which delay the procedure. However, 5-30 minutes isn't that much delay in my opinion.

I think the process does take a long time, especially when we do transactions with coins whose volume is still small even with large GAS the process is still long so that the things we can do are just waiting, although it looks simple but transactions in crypto don't only involve two parties so that the process is a little longer so be patient

It is normal that a withdrawal takes between 5 minutes and several days on every exchange. First of all, you need to verify, email, phone number, 2FA and than you are waiting for this transaction to be approved from exchange admins. Try to trade on Dex exchanges and you won't need to wait at all.

Now there are a lot of blockchains who want to make their transactions as fast as possible. I think that if you look at the new altcoins you will find such coins
The BTC lighting network and Litecoin are my first priorities if I need urgently to withdraw the coins from the exchange. As fast as possible is not the true definition, the changing variables can not be predcitelt 100 % correctly. The transaction speed focused projects are there but the well-known coins are wildly used by the main exchanges. The Ripple network cna handle up to 25000 transactions per second as far as I remember.

5-30 minutes I think it's only natural if it's a bitcoin transaction. If you have ever conducted an Arbit, you can feel the effect of the difference in speed between coin and exchange of transactions. for me, every exchange has almost the same transaction duration.

The delay of transaction may be caused by some factor. First is about the system on the platform that offers an automatic or manual system or even how their system manage the transaction. Then, it will also depend on the Blockchain system that may be also differences on the confirmation systems. Sometimes, there needs several times authentication/confirmation on the blockchain systems.
But actually, for Changely, have you contacted their support?

Take a look at cmc section with exchanges.

Honestly, 5-30 minutes still not long for me. When bitcoin transaction was full, people must wait until more than 1 day to get confirmed. For me, usually i after withdraw from an exchange, after it appear on blockchain network i close the site and only wait my fund to sent. Maybe that is better because if we keep look on the exchanges, maybe it will feel longer time to get transaction confirmed.

Well, each transaction needs to be mined before becoming successful based on the number of blocks. If the transaction fees can be varied, switch to high fees to boost the speed. Bitrue exchange platform has one of the fastest processing of transactions yet low transaction fees.

30 mins is expected time for BTC transactions, if you want speed use chains with faster transaction speed, for example, eos, xlm, dgb, etc.

I suggest you increase the fee to gets confirm with fast but to waiting for 5-30 minutes, I guess that will be no problem for you because that is a normal time to see the transaction get confirmed by the network. I think that the faster transaction will depend on the fee itself and the network traffic to confirm every transaction and we cannot do anything. The only way I know to get fast confirming is to increase the fee which I mention before or is there any other method to do faster transaction which I don't know.

Speed of transaction depends upon exchanges. Some exchanges allow fast transaction while others do not. I do not have much trading experience on exchanges. But depending on whatever experience I have acquired so far, Bittrex allows faster transaction. Coinall also allows fast transaction.

loads of exchanges that execute transactions with speed exists within the blockchain space. it has not being spelt out which is the most reliable but a handy of them are quite reputable and commonly used and heard of within the space. Binance is actually taking the lead in such exchanges and followed by the others in no particular order. you can further google for more information and advice.

if you are worried about network delays when transacting, you can solve the problem by increasing costs when shipping, usually the slow delivery is caused by many users making transactions, you can add some fees to speed up the process.

The problem here is the majority exchanges already set their withdrawal fee directly without asking the users. That means we can not change it at all and literally every exchange uses the same fee in average range to send the transaction. Even though you need to pay 0.0005 BTC~0.002 BTC fees.
unless you are sending it from your own wallet, we can not change the transaction fees and speed.

Transaction's speed doesn't rely on exchanger but rather it relies to Blockchain's network itself. Compare to the bank transfer, cryptocurrency is still faster and more convenient to use as transferring money from bank or remitance could take upto 7 business days. On the other hand let's assume that you're still not satisfied to the coin you're using for your personal transactions, it's recommended to shift into another altcoins which has its own Blockchain such as XRP, Tron, Waves, and etc.

But here in Ph I experienced more than a day in my transaction when I cash out my coin during weekend. I think the reason behind this is the legalization and technology. They need to improve and innovate the technology but I think legalization will help on this issue.

the problem is that not only you do transactions but many other users do transactions together so the sending process is rather slow, the network is one of the main factors. actually a period of 5-30 minutes is normal and you have to wait patiently for the process, especially if you send in large quantities of course a bit slow.

You mean instant exchange sites? Changelly is much better among the option but you can somehow try up https://shapeshift.io but this one do needs KYC
also you can opt in with https://simpleswap.io/ .Confirmation times does depend on the network traffic and it is one of the main factor why transactions had really these kind of delays and no exchange does have the control about confirmation times. If this one does really bother you then you can always try up some exchange like Binance.
Purchase the coins youd like to buy then transfer it on your own wallet. You wont see any difference for sure but does depend on the time on when you do make such transaction though but I do understand that these instant exchanger is much less hassle to make tx than on dealing with casual exchange platforms.

It depends on which crypto you are buying as we all know that the confirmation time for Bitcoin is slower compared to others like Ethereum and the likes, these exchanges could be using the normal or regular fee to procees your transactions which get slower depending on the blockchain network.

In July, the information about the fastest crypto exchange appeared. It will be called PIT. I am not sure that it will be launched soon, but later, you can check for it. Besides, why 5 minutes of waiting for a transaction seem to you to be so long? It is the norm. I agree that 30 minutes is too much as you become nervous, but I do not remember that I used to wait for half an hour. I use Binance.

Blockchain.info was the famous crypto wallet service, later they started to improve their service quality way back to the 2017. PIT exchange is introduced by the same company and they aim to be the fastest crypto exchange with minimum trading fees and crypto-fiat withdrawal commissions.
The new exchanges should come the crypto space with solutions for the crypto traders. The dollar cost average is down in this type of business, the interest is growing as obviously expected. The PIT exchange will be the competitor of the exchanges like Idex, Liquid.

This same changelly is what someone said he has ported to after complaining about binance exchange, but here we have another complainants of changelly, and this is what I keep telling many people’ we can never get perfection from any of these projects like we want it, even if we were to run the project ourselves.

It is easier for us to perfect whatever we want from our heart than to get it real life. Changelly might be an issue to you now, but it may be still be one of the best that you will get. If you are looking for a more perfect exchange, you might never really get it, so we just have to manage whatever we have at our disposal provided we still get the job done within a short period of time. There is no other exchange you will still get than this.

That is not so bad, I have seen people claiming they had to wait for several hours in order to get their coins, this is because there could be a severe overload in the network, this is very common when the price is skyrocketing, this could also happen because the coin is under attack and the exchanges are being very cautious about the minimum number of confirmations needed to accept a transaction as valid or they could be experimenting some problems with their exchanging algorithm, in any case if you want a faster service you should probably use binance or coinbase from now on.

Normally every transaction require 10min to generate hash for the block and with third party account from any exchange need more time to be confirmed , as every exchange has the number of block that need to be confirmed before they part with the coin which add more time to its transaction time , so I think this is not in anyway be worry some to you.

maybe you pick the lowest fee that's why it takes time. Lol..  Because you know all the speed of the transaction are depending on the fees we put on it. so it's normal !.and sometimes due to the network reason it become slow..

so before you complain check it first what's the real reason behind  .and  If you don't want to wait anymore.  then next time choose an exchange that have no choices of fees when it comes withdrawal.  But im not saying it will become very smooth . . 'cause you now it depends as well on the network.

Often times, the reason why transactions take time on the blockchain is over clogging of the network with several thousands to hundreds of thousands of transactions leading to sluggish of transaction speeds. Once the network is congested, there is always the tendency of transactions taking time to be done and completed. The only visible solution to this is a decongested network.

It is based on chain you are using. For instance bitcoin has a very old blockchain and can process very little amount of transactions per second. Yet if you use eos, you would see it is instant. When the transaction takes huge. You need to wait for the transaction to be end. Without all the confirmation was done. It's not a possible one to view of the intimation of your transaction.

All exchanges have time to conduct a transaction, even if you send your money or coins with the fastest transfer, you need time to check and process your transaction. You need to understand this and make your payments and transfers with a margin of time. Would you like to be cheated? Exchanges also do not want to be deceived, so they spend a lot of time checking your operations.

The OP must be converting from or to Bitcoin. Of course the transaction will take time since I believe the fees are set to the lowest possible value. It's a "pay-high-fees, confirm-first" world.

It is based on chain you are using.

For instance bitcoin has a very old blockchain and can process very little amount of transactions per second. Yet if you use eos, you would see it is instant.
That is right, most altcoins are there to serve a purpose, and we know that bitcoin cannot carry the transaction of the whole world, which is the reason why we have so many altcoin as an alternative and all we need to do is just search the good ones out like the EOS that you pointed out.

Most time that bitcoin becomes slow more is usually when there are lots of transactions being processed on it at the same time, and there is usually network jam that is usually responsible for such slow transaction and sometimes high fee, so we could just use some of those coins like ethereum, binance, EOS, stellar and other great chain coins that would serve the same purpose as much as bitcoin does. So we have to learn to accept them and use them to save bitcoin the so many stresses on it.

Transaction speed versus deposits / withdrawels processing speed on exchanges :

You can have a cryptocurrency thats lightning fast but if exchanges or other services put a lot of transaction confirmations needed on such transactions
before they deem them safe and protected against doublespending, then users will still experience slow speed.

Ideally you want a cryptocurrency thats not only fast with its transactions on its own network but also only need a minimum of transaction confirmations
imposed by exchanges or services.

Dash has a number of exchanges that accept its InstantSend technology on deposits and or withdrawels. Which means you get your transaction from
sender to receiver within a few seconds, protected against doublespending, no additional fees, immediately spendable and the exchange involved only
impose 1 transaction confirmation before deeming it safe.

These exchanges for Dash, who are accepting its InstantSend on deposits and/or withdrawels are :

https://www.reddit.com/r/dashpay/comments/bhoos3/these_exchanges_are_dash_instantsendenabled/

Dash transactions with 4 input amounts or lower will be automatically and by default handled through Instantsend, without any additional fees, immediately
spendable and protected against double spending. Exchanges just need to update their confirmation system to provide these benefits to its users.

Transaction confirmation depends on network congestion at the moment of transactions and the amount of fees being used, waiting for 30 minutes to get your transaction confirmed is still OK.

Hello! To be honest, I'm so tired of waiting for transactions. I use changelly and I have to wait for my transaction for 5-30 minutes and that's exhausting. Do you know exchanges with faster transactions?

Any exchange will credit your money for a while. Your money must go through several procedures through various payment centers, it takes time to process all these operations.
In the crypto market, transactions also take some time, so learn to be patient and wait.

The blockchain transactions are not transferred instantly except the few coins, the delay is understandable, it is necessary to wait for the confirmation of the transaction. The exchanges also send the withdrawals together, so I don't think they have any interest for the late arrived transactions. For example, the Liquid exchange which send the transaction in every 6 hours. If I order a withdrawal request at 1 pm, the withdrawal will reach my  BTC account at 7 pm which is not good. The batch withdrawals are not good ide used by the small exchanges which liquidity is not in higher levels but the big exchanges can use the batch withdrawals without any hassle due to the big layer of the deep liquidity.

Because on each cryptocurrency network , there are so many transactions going on.. I don't know exactly , maybe around 100-1000 transactions each day #CMIIW
Crowded network on cryptocurrency are Bitcoin network , because IMO this needed so much confirmations than Ethereum network and also because of that , sometimes transfer/withdraw/deposit Bitcoin to other wallet (exchanges or private wallet) takes a few hours (maybe not)

I totally agree with you, because it is true that bitcoin has the most and densest transactions every day, it is inevitable that sending bitcoin will always be too late. And that can also make bitcoin prices even higher

It all depends on BTC transaction speed at that moment although I have noticed that withdrawals in some exchanges are much faster and some of these exchanges are Mercatox and gate.io exchange, Binance withdrawals a Nd deposits used to be very slow too but they seem to have improved it a great deal recently.

If you don't want to waiting too long for your transaction, then you must using your own cryptocurrency wallet.
It is normal for exchange wallet to wait the confirmation of the transaction, for security reason.

What blockchain are you using? It only takes less than a minute if you are using ethereum blockchain. and it depends on the exchange on how many blocks before they accept the transaction. I suggest kucoin or houbi, they accept with atleast 5 blocks created.

The transaction in cryptocurrency are fast especially if it is on ERC20, NEP5 EOS or waves and others.
Only BTC will take a bit time, but about the speed rate, it is also dpends on the efficientcy of the exchange you are dealing with.
They need time to verify the transaction and send it.

Transactions at large exchangers are usually very fast and also have a relatively small transaction fee. During this time I was still comfortable transacting at exchangers such as Binance or Kucoin because some of the coins that I sought were there

I think it's ok for wait 5-30 min. Basically it's happen when network carry too much load. I remember once when my token take to transaction was 18 hours. I think Binance is more faster than other exchange. And i think now days eth based tokens are faster than bitcoin or other block chain token.

And one more think, miner try to solve or take those transaction which fee is big amount if some how your gas limit is low then some times it take much time to transaction. It's a regular thing if network carry too much load then you have to wait for while.

The Ethereum network has been overloaded in the past few days, so many transactions are delayed, especially if the gaz price is set low. Therefore, at such moments, you have to wait for the network to unload. The Ethereum team must solve the problem of network scaling, otherwise Ethereum will lose popularity.

Most times it's down to overload on Ethereum blockchain, the gas price is also another reason while transactions can take anywhere between seconds to minutes to hours. If a high gas price is set and the network is not congested the transaction will be fast and vice versa.

thank God everyone on any major exchange can exchange one cryptocurrency for another without much difficulty.

With an increase in the use of blockchain, there is bound to be enormous amounts of traffic clogging up thr network structure resulting in slow processing of several transactions. It is not uncommon to find this happening majorly on Ethereum and Bitcoin blockchains since these blockchains remain the most widely used. The good thing is that, this often last at most, a couple of days and the network becomes normal again.

That's the benefit we can enjoy where there's a lot of exchanges in the market, they will provide liquidity to ensure we can trade anytime we want.
What's important only is that people will begin accepting not only bitcoin but altcions as well, based on my experience, I am more satisfied using DOGE coin for my transaction as its faster and way cheaper compared to other coins I use.

Though we cannot deny that BTC is the most popular now, but because of its demand the value increases hence fees follows, therefore it's not advisable to use for small transactions only as the fee is not worth it.

There are traders that wants to save from fees too so they usually use the altcoins Ethereum(mostly) and Doge, there's also Nano for those that still doesn't know on how good they are.
But if you want to pay for bitcoin and it's usually around $0.01 - $0.06 which isn't really that expensive right?

I can attest to Doge being one of the cheapest and faster coins. Especially when you want to run arbitrage and all transactions fees matter. So instead of withdrawing BTC at 5usd at eg Binance you rather convert to doge, send to Kucoin and withdraw btc at less than 2usd

I also do comparable transfers between big exchanges and the XRP, DOGE, NEO are the cheapest, fastest coins as a withdrawal choice. Instead of paying the 5$ worth of XRP to the Hitbtc I prefer to convert my holdings to the NEO and withdraw to the Binance. In the end, the total cost will be less than 1 USD due to the fees and commissions.

Different exchanges have different rates but Livecoin can be a good choice for withdrawing the trading profits. The various withdrawal options are there and the withdralwa fees are not as high as the HitBtc. The average market fees are more in the big exchanges, but there is no need to make the same choice as the crowd.

Not familiar to that(changelly) but for that long, it is just fair to me. Withdrawal and deposit it takes a while to process and it needs blockchain confirmations, and it also varies depending on fees and network traffic that it sometimes we need minutes or hours to have the final confirmation. I don't see instant transfers in here as it needs confirmation but if it happens all the times, there might have a problem with that site.

Many things affect the speed of the transaction. One of them is a transaction fee. If you want a fast transaction, then set the fee at a higher price. For me. transactions for 30 minutes is not too long, it's quite normal. If you want better service then use a compatible global exchange such as binance, kucoin, that's safer I think.

I believe that your plight will be settled and solved by the time the Ethereum 2.0 is created, which is an update that will come up soon. There are other block chain that enable very fast transaction. However, if the network is clogged and there is a lot of traffic, which is what happens on ethereum network, it will cause a slow pace in transaction. Although, to hasten the process, you might then need to use higher transaction fee, as recommended by the network.

Using the small cost coins for withdrawing the account balance is the smart idea but the disadvantages of the small coins also force me to think twice. The illiquid market conditions for these coins can be hard to trade for lower bid/ask rates.  The alternative coins are more reliable to transfer the profit than paying more for the same amount of the profit. The exchanges also don't send the withdrawals one by one, they collect the withdrawal request from the different customers which ordered to take the funds out of the exchange.

Transactions may take time if there is no other withdrawal request by the crypto traders in the same exchange. The batch withdrawal is the commonly known component of the well-known exchanges and they prefer to use the batch withdrawal for saving the fees and sending the withdrawals as fast as possible.

If you mean withdrawing or depositing to various cryptocurrency exchanges, then of course it depends on when the employee of this exchange confirms your request and the congestion of the network itself, which is used to transfer cryptocurrencies also plays the most important role, because if the network is busy, you will have to wait a while, so you can always check the network load in the Internet before making a deposit or withdrawal of any funds.

The time interval of 5-30 minutes, in my opinion, is more than an acceptable period of time. There were times when you had to wait much longer, it all depends on the network load or on the agility of managers in exchange.

I think if it only takes 5-30 minutes for a transaction is very normal because each transaction requires a queue until the transaction that we make is immediately completed. and may be caused by a network that is busy because the network can also affect the speed of the transaction process, so my advice is to be more patient in conducting transactions because my experience has been to wait up to 1 hour to complete 1 transaction process.

It's very normal and I've told him that there were transactions stuck between 1 hr and more than that. There are other altcoins that are almost instant but I don't prefer using them, I'd like to support bitcoin and take 5-30 minutes of transactions and wait.
Compare to the traditional waiting time of sending payments online, the original period of time would be days.

For accelerating the Bitcoin transactions there are several Bitcoin accelerator services without zero-fee. For the fast transaction using the Dogecoin and XRP will save your day and you can later convert your Dogecoin to the Bitcoin at another exchange. For building the altcoin portfolio, you must move your Bitcoin among the well-known altcoin exchanges and due to these purpose traders look for a cost-effective, efficient solution. Faster transfers are good for catching the price swings if the trader has such persistence. Low volume coins are not suitable for transferring the crypto trading earnings but using the stable coins will take more time than using the Litecoin or XRP whic takes maximum 10 minutes of the configuration-confirmation time from my experience.

It sometimes it takes days to transfer our funds depending on the exchange that we are using and also the blockchain traffic. But if it takes weeks, there is something we to check either of the wrong address typed or there is a problem with the exchange or much worse if we have been hack just like it happens to me.

Will, it be glad for us to see an instant transfer at this time cause it merely to happen. I don't think that 1hr of waiting is really disappointing cause it for me, it is very considerable and we know the fact already.

If you do transactions using several exchanges, of course it is all in accordance with the policies they provide, because my experience is also the same in terms of making transactions in one market such as STEX, they are very long when we want to make transactions on Ethereum, in fact I need more than 3 hours to be able to enter other markets (maybe due to network problems) this can also happen, see everything, so we better choose a market that has a very fast transaction speed, please explore this policy.

BTC withdrawal in tradesat could take weeks based on my experience. I will never use that exchange again. They are using very small fee per byte and you are paying a lot more for their tx fee. So what the OP is complaining about should not really be of a big deal. That duration is already a blessing for him. And if he wants much faster than that, maybe choose an option of paying higher fee if the exchange is offering such option.

yes, 30 minutes is normal time. Transaction speed is directly proportional to the chosen fee.  the higher the set fee, the higher the speed. do cryptocurrency transactions and exchanges should not be compared with exchanges in the real world that can be done instantly and quickly.

Transactions take time because they need to be mined within the various blocks of series of pending transactions. Normally, to skip some of the blocks and get ones transaction verified at a fast pace, then one most increase the transaction fees. For ERC based tokens, you can always search for the current recommended or standard gas price to set in order to get transactions fast, average or slow at Ether Gas station.

as we know the network is slow because many users make transactions. in this case I think the time span is 5-30 minutes I think this is normal time and you have to be patient waiting for it. Or maybe you need to add additional fees to speed up the next transaction process.

That incident that made you suspicious about longer transactions puts that idea on your mind that something must be wrong.
Well, the way to solve it is by just paying the right fee and if you want to accelerate it there's a way but much better to pay with high priority so that you will receive it earlier on time, this is an option though.
