Title: Importing Private Key From Dash Core Into Dash Electrum Wallet
Post by: GlobalProtection on September 05, 2019, 04:37:05 AM

Can someone give me ABC instructions about how I extract the private key from the Dash Core Wallet and import it to the Dash Electrum wallet?

If I obtain it from the .dat file, what program do I use to open that file and is the private key easy to find in the .dat file?

In other words, what is the quickest way to eliminate the coins in a DASH core wallet, that is not working, and make them show up in a new Dash electrum wallet?

Thanks

Assuming that both wallets are forks from the original bitcoin core and Electrum:

1. Export the private keys  (https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/a/5933)from Dash core.
2. Create a new wallet in Electrum dash.
3. Sweep  (https://i.imgur.com/gCwjbi5.png)the exported private keys into Electrum by pasting them.

Note that unlike importing, sweeping means that the funds will be sent from the address associated with that private key to one of your electrum addresses.
