What do you think about WhiteBit exchange?  please share your experience - is it  secure? I heard 96% of all assets are stored on cold wallets.

The majority got no experience on that exchange because of the obvious fact that it doesn't establish a good community. Why risks after all. And even they do, how can their users confirm nor knows if that 96% of all assets of that exchange is stored in cold wallets?

If you consider using that exchange because of their security then why not just choose the famous ones. And besides, we don't have much that info on exchange. Better be safe.

Seems like a very new exchange considering Coinmarketcap says WhiteBit was established in 2019, though CoinGecko and the Twitter account that seems to represent WhiteBit say the exchange went up in 2018- either way, there's really no way to know how good the site's security is, and I wouldn't take the word of a small and relatively new exchange. Even if an exchange is 'secure', though, please store funds you're not actively trading off-exchange on a wallet you own. There's no guarantee you'll get compensated if a site suffers a serious security breach that ends up with coins stolen, and it's overall just less risky holding funds yourself rather than on any service.

I haven't used that exchange so far.
For reference of the website -  https://whitebit.com/ (https://whitebit.com/)
No one can confirm that statement but as of now, you are relying from the dev team.
Since they are new player in the crypto exchange business, they will do right things as much as possible to gain the trust from the users.

Never know/hear about the exchange.

is it  secure? I heard 96% of all assets are stored on cold wallets.
Other exchange also saying this same statement on their exchange, but still, get the hack.

The safest place to store your coin, token or asset is on your own personal. Went you can control all of your assets, exchange was not really a good option cause exchange the target attacking from the hacker.

Some reviews are good and some are not, make your research about that mate before using it because everything can be manipulated just to attract investors. Never tried to use Whitebit exchange because I’m satisfied on top exchanges, you might also feel that if you’re using top exchanges.

As far as I know, this exchange is recently launched this year 2019. Literarily, they are new and not suppose to be trusted unless they already operated at least even 6 months. Do you own research before stepping in and made a deposit.

Here are the links that probably you can search further regarding them about the feedbacks.

I don't hear anything about them, and I don't use them too. If you think that they are stored all of the assets in the cold wallet, then it is better if you can do that by yourself because you can control your assets and you can directly to access the cold wallets. You don't need them to store your assets because you don't know how good they were securing the assets. If I were you, I would not store my assets in the exchanges for a long time especially in the new exchange because I don't know if the exchange can really protect the assets from the attackers or not.

I just reviewed this exchange platform, i see this is good exchange and the volume of transaction is pretty high. WhiteBit have a good interface and i think this platform can compete with other exchange platform.

According to Namebio (https://namebio.com/whitebit.com) the domain has been sold for $4000 through Sedo on 2018-11-28.

I would practice caution here. A new exchange that is generating decent volumes is very suspicious. Not saying it's a scam, but exchanges usually need years to build up enough credibility for people to actually use them. It could be them generating volume through wash trading to lure people in, which is a common practice amongst exchanges nowadays.

If we have a look at their Twitter page (https://twitter.com/whitebit6), a lot of their likes and retweets come from bots and shills.  :-X

I always thought that cold wallets are safer and you don’t have to worry about the safety of your cryptocurrency. Since most of the time such a wallet is offline.

When we do talk about wallets then its been classified to 2:

-Hotwallet (exchange wallet - actively making transactions)
-Coldwallet ( Hardware ones,airgapped etc.)

When it comes to security then theres no question about coldwallet but I highly believe its been a common set-up on most exchangers having their own cold and hot ones.

About Whitebit exchange, this is my first time hearing out and I wont risk on using it since there are more better options.

As far as I understand, about a cold wallet is not connected to the network, but only when you need to complete a transaction. I heard that the cold wallets Trezor or Ledger were breaking. But I don’t know, maybe it was just negligence with private keys.

Yes, volumes aren’t huge, but still whitebit is very young exchange. I’ve checked, they really have financial license and volume looks like real. besides, even huobi and hitbtc don't have license))

If this is the case, then I will say that today many people do similar things, even large exchanges such as Binance. To maintain liquidity, robots are involved that boost volumes.

I hear it first here, then made a research and saw that they have a decent volume.
They have $17 million trading volume now based on https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/whitebit/, so I think it's a trusted exchange.

I go through the coins listed, it seems like most of the coins listed are legit coins and popular coins in the market.

I heard 96% of all assets are stored on cold wallets.
About that one, it needs to be verified yet, but when we say about exchange, only one thing in my mind, they are vulnerable of hacking.
Also, I was thinking if almost all coins are in cold wallet, I don't think they could process withdrawals timely.

Are you able to withdraw your BTC's after traded your MB8 coin? Hope you will...lol

I have see that their withdrawal fees is 0.0005BTC which it looks too high compared to the others. I don't know how it attracts traders especially when they just using Bitcoin because of its fees.
But anyway, they are just new in the operation and I have to think that they are welcome for any suggestions that could help them better.
By looking at their reviews, I don't see any complaints which means that they are able to provide services or we might say that only few have their trades in this exchange.

Such a commission for withdrawal at almost all exchanges. Yes, I also think that’s a lot. Somehow at Bitmex I had to pay 0.00200 BTK commissions. This is when the network was overloaded and Bitcoin was actively growing.

In general, you are having a good experience with this exchange but my advice is that you should not submit information to complete KYC because this is a very strange exchange for many people, we don't see its reputation in the market, rushing to send personal information is not good. In addition, you also do not often use this exchange when the market has too many good exchanges such as kucoin, binance, bittrex, sometimes you just need it for liquidity, no need to think about KYC confirmation when it's not needed

Indeed KYC is a problem for new exchanges like Whitebit because they don't have enough good reputation to trust. KYC is not a trivial matter because it concerns our privacy data, even exchanges such as binance still have a chance to experience data leakages, especially exchanges that have not been tested for safety, such as whitebit.

I never tried withdrawing my funds cause my coins is not yet sold, still waiting the right time. I think I can withdraw the coins in any form not just by bitcoin. Because as we can see, every time we deposit a coin, there’s also a withdraw address button.

In general, you are having a good experience with this exchange but my advice is that you should not submit information to complete KYC because this is a very strange exchange for many people, we don't see its reputation in the market, rushing to send personal information is not good. Don’t worry, I am aware of the risk in applying for KYC verification, thanks for the advice anyway. Just needed to register on this exchange site cause for now it has the biggest volume of MB8coin market. And I didn’t deposit all the coins there.

Does it require KYC? Is it mandatory in the exchange if you want to do a simple transaction like selling of coins as you want to do at the moment ?
It doesn’t require KYC. I think its only an option like withdrawing huge number of bitcoins.
No, it is not also mandatory to provide your personal information on the exchange site just to make a simple transaction or to sell your coins.

There are so many new exchanges right now in the market, and some of them are coming from ICO, but even with the bounty marketing it failed to generate support, this is the first time I read about White Bit, I believe they did not offer an ICO, this is why people are unfamiliar with that exchange, better read more reviews from actual users, I'm not saying it's not safe.

Never heard of it mate, but I suggest you dude that never trust with the exchange at once with a new. It is much better and good if you check or review the platform before you take part in that platform, to avoid any mistakes, especially as a trader our capital investment was always in risk level, so be careful.

especially exchanges that have not been tested for safety, such as whitebit.
The only way to be 'tested' as exchange is to have hackers fail to steal coins or information from you. If they manage to steal one of these or both, you obviously failed because your exchange wasn't secure enough.

Some exchanges tend to not publicly share that they have been hacked, but a red flag would be that they don't or barely process withdrawals, which is an indication of insolvency.

Either way, if you want to try out an exchange, try to deposit like a buck worth of Bitcoin or any other coin to see if you can withdraw without problems. If they are a scam, you only lost a buck, which isn't the end of the world.

I think this process is automated. If you need to withdraw cryptocurrency, the system takes funds from the active wallet, in which tokens are temporarily stored. If there is not enough on an active account, the billing system turns to the cold storage for coins.

With an active wallet, everything is more or less clear. But the cold wallet should not be associated with the site because then it is also in danger of being hacked. If the exchange holds 96% of the funds in a cold wallet, how will the exchange provide high trading volume? I don't know much about it, of course.

I think that traders get used to certain exchanges and reluctantly change their exchanges to strangers. Is that the exchange will offer users favorable conditions for the withdrawal of funds or non-standard trading tools.

About them storing 96% of the assets in cold storage, I think most of the exchanges does the same thing. Still be careful when storing your coins in that exchange. You might lose everything if they get hacked.
I think that traders get used to certain exchanges and reluctantly change their exchanges to strangers. Is that the exchange will offer users favorable conditions for the withdrawal of funds or non-standard trading tools.
I think this is a matter of habit. If all the necessary tools for trading and withdrawing money are collected in one place, such an exchange will succeed. At this stage, you need to dampen money in marketing so that people know about it.

About this exchange I never heard and decided to watch. I tried to go to the site https://whitebit.com/ but it didn't work. Is this how it should be? or I'm doing something wrong.
Everything works fine for me without failures. Perhaps you got into technical work. I recently read about it on the Internet, it turns out that good volumes are being traded on it.
You can even make a banal analysis to understand how many people are sitting on this site and how much is traded there
How can this be done? I would like to check before trusting the new exchange my money.

I think a regular website analyzer will help here to understand what a domain name is and so on. But I think your fears are in vain.

Yes, WhiteBit works and is pretty good. It’s more convenient and much easier for me than Binance. I’ll try to trade on it to understand what kind of liquidity.

People have the right to choose which service to use. Personally, I believe that the availability of additional tools like the new WhiteBit exchange is only positive. You can trade and not be afraid for your money.

I won't recommend such exchange like that which had many complaints at the moment. They had some issues in terms of withdrawal and KYC thing.

Many users, by personal example, are convinced of the honesty of the project or in their fraud.  Nevertheless, most people always react precisely to the feedback of other users about a particular resource.  But you need to take into account the fact that every review should be supported by facts, so as not to mislead people.  If there are negative statements, then it is necessary to give real evidence as an example.

It is one of the exchange listed on the coinmarketcap site and for that I believe they are fair. I only heard about them recently when a bounty I worked for listed there some months ago. I was surprised to observe it has great trade volume and good coins are listed there too. It is higher and better than coinexchange .

There are a lot of good exchanges our there that you can use instead of risking your assets on this new brand exchange that is still in early stage. I wouldn't deposit any large amount there, no matter how promising they look. I didn't risk my money on small and new exchange as I was lucky to stop using cryptopia in right time before the crisis.

I have never heard of WhiteBit, and I have not used it before. But any option is not entirely secure. Everything becomes safe only when all payments are manually censored. But manual censorship slows things down and makes people unhappy. For your security, you can buy your cold wallet, and that helps you to control your own money.

Is this the exchange I read in a thread section here that a member of the forum complained that he was depositing around 1000 $ on this platform and then suddenly there are new rules that you can't withdraw if you are not verified by KYC in whitebit. And all of a sudden, they are issuing such rules without telling the whitebit users that they have been hacked or that they have been deposited. Plus the volume of the whitebit platform is not that impressive, so I prefer to use the exchange known in the market.

Some exchanges and wallet now are implenting KYC and the informartion of the crypto user is not safe.
I don't know about whitebit exchange and I think if I remember it is from Philippines correct me me if the country that I determined is not correct. A trader have freely to choose where exchange they trade but if Op have plan to trade to whitebit make sure it is really safe because there is a lot of exhange are scam and rules is very important just read and understand before start trade to not having any trouble.

There's reasons behind implementing KYC most of the time exchange needs to comply with government rules against money laundering. But from that case you state where the rules has been changed without prior knowledge coming from the participants, it's not a good practice it should be informed. Hussle like this would push away traders who doesn't want to tie with exchange who ask personal use identities.

How are things going with a new but very interesting exchange? Have some good news?
The trading volume is low as for me.
Low volume trading is common in new exchanges. this exchange will take 1 to 2 years to become large. I'm still waiting for more review, for I trade on this exchange
You are right, it takes time to establish this exchange. It is also worth noting that even on top exchanges, volumes are extremely small. I am silent about the increase in volume by bots.
Yes, you are right. Trading volumes are very small.  It takes some time for growth.

In any case, it is good that competition increases and each of the exchanges will try to make its own exchange even better, safer and more convenient. This is progress comrades.
Right now, projects have begun to develop more actively in the market, and it pleases, new chips and developments began to appear, so there is some plus in this in the future
Yes, I noticed not only the growth of crypto infrastructures, such as exchanges, OTC platforms, but also new mining equipment is coming out. And this means that the market comes to life.

On that case the site adminstration shouldn't allow deposit of funds once kyc wasn't passed. I wonder why after deposit made by that forum member, sudden rules change and it sounds strange right? As per analysis they can manipulate your kyc whether they accept it or not since the funds was already on their custody, so it's completely a biased situation.

There is a need to comply with such KYC because of its amount and in most exchanges today they requiring this for withdrawal and I believe that person who gives complains knew it already. I believe it is not only the KYC it looks interesting but also their fees cause it is really high compared to the other and I just hope that this exchange will realize it https://www.cointelligence.com/exchanges_list/whitebit/.

We need not only a strong community and favorable market conditions, but also support from the market maker. Liquidity alone does not appear.

I also think so. The coin is promising but the volume of $ 100,000 is a lot at this stage of the project development.

I'm trying to make a request of withdrawal now, unfortunately it doesn't allow me after clicking the withdrawal request button and it says "You can't withdraw more 0 USD per day , as your account is not confirmed."
I'll update you after my account get approved. For now, I just submitted my name and contact, waiting the approval. Maybe tomorrow I'll continue the verification process for the document.

right now there are many new exchange platforms and as much as possible you should be careful when you want to trade in a new exchange, do not use too much capital and always be vigilant, because at this time there are many crimes that often occur with the exchange platform.

The Whitebit exchange is one of the newest and potential platforms where you can various types of facilities besides a good exchange site, I know a little bit about this platform, there are a lot of things you can get such as IEO platforms, Good exchange platform, also you can get margin trading facilities, even you can avail instant purchase system and so on. most important thing is that they are trying to provide a fast and secure platform for the exchange purpose, there is an option of customizing user interface which could make easy for your purpose, also has a smart protective screen, not only that but also it requires a low fee in comparison to other exchange sites.

Yeah, i used WhiteBit exchange for sell some alts coins. But in generally most of the people’s aren’t familiar with such a exchange. But i think it’s enough secured to protect your assets. This is not a big exchange because only 60 different alts coins listed here and most of them shit coins. But i don’t believe manipulated trading in coinmarketcap also WhiteBit 24 hours trade volume is showing wrong figure instead of exchange activities.

in coinmarketcap i see trading volume on whitebit around %18millions.and if looking pairs that traded there i am totally doubt with this volume.if there is alternative exchanges for our assets, better to use other exchanges with better reputation.or maybe use decentralized exchanges safer than use unknown market with fake trading volume.

This exchange appears to be owned by the same people as P2PB2B and Coinsbit, about which there are many questions, (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5209604.msg53365729#msg53365729) including why do they have a fake team (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4933915.0)?

I have listed with them and their security is useless. They blocked me for a 'security check' and whilst I was unable to access my wallet someone emptied my wallet. There is an e mail trail showing this to be true but they insist that I authorised and instigated the trade. Do not go anywhere near them, you will lose everything as I did.

Beware, No guarantee or warranty of your money if it doesn't meet the minimum requirement of WhiteBit.com people even though you're not a direct customer of it and has externally put money on them for instance incases of deposits.

Dear user.  https://whitebit.com/terms Paragraph 6 (Operations on the account) Section 6.5
WHITEBIT is entitled to set and change minimum/maximum limits for Depositing and Withdrawing the Funds at its discretion. WHITEBIT will not be liable for not making any prior notices to the Users regarding such changes.
In such case:
if the Account was deposited with an amount less than the minimum for Depositing, the Funds will not be deposited to the User’s Account on the Platform and will not be refunded to the User; deposits with the sizes, which do not meet the established minimum, are not cumulative;
Thank you for pointing out this one. I used this Whitebit exchange when the time I needed money badly so I decided to sell some of my MB8coins on their platform. Nevertheless, I never encountered any problems undergoing the KYC process. But I will take note of this, so whenever I will make trade again I would be careful and will always check the minimum requirement before making a deposit.

Actually, by checking these things in advance before you deposit your money can save you the later struggle and potential loss. Having said this though, I find it ridiculous that when you want to deposit a lower amount than the minimum requirement that you don't get an error message, and not allowing you you to do so >:(
and that instead, if you do make that mistake you lose your money - how frustrating  :(

You are right. But the deposit process will take place initially out of the whitebit exchange. We are using the sender address where the coin/token coming from. This exchage is only receiving... It's their rule and they can't undo if it happens because of its part of their terms and conditions. So use it at your own risk.

Well this didn't aged well...

After reading some of the accusations in 2021, after i have been in contact with many of the WhiteBIT staff.

I can only say, positive and hard working staff, this is coming from a guy who traded on Mt.GOX and all other "oldschool" exchanges.

I can only say WhiteBIT is real deal, especially because they are relative new exchange, but only fool can ignore their progress on developement and tools they have.

I have 2 years experience of trading and using @WhiteBit.They Just signed a partnership with Barcelona, which makes me very happy cause it will make the exchange more popular and affect their native token (In which I am investing).  As far as I know, WhiteBIT ranks among the safest CEXs - but what matters is that they passed the practical test as well - when the war in Ukraine broke out, they underwent a bank run and emerged intact. Reading comments on this topic from two years ago, I see how much they have improved and how much potential they still have

What do you think about WhiteBit exchange?  please share your experience - is it  secure? I heard 96% of all assets are stored on cold wallets.

Previously, if you used that, you could withdraw there even if you didn't pass any KYC. After a few months, they suddenly had a change in their policy that required you to pass KYC on their platform. You cannot trade using their platform if you are not verified.

That exchange is a mess because they won't allow you to do trading activity, but you can make a deposit. It seems like their policy is not good it's like they're a trap for newbies who will use their platform.

I didn't know about this exchange until you made this thread. But from what I see, WhiteBit is the same as other exchanges in that it offers security and convenience which is often stated by centralized exchange platforms. I don't know its security or features, if you are confident with this exchange you can try it. But for me personally I will not use this exchange.
And from their website, they say that they are the official crypto exchange from Barcelona, well this is pretty cool too, but it doesn't indicate that this exchange is credible.

No matter what attractive offers it provides, if the exchange isn’t popular or hasn’t got enough reputation, then it will be better to completely avoid the exchange. Now positive reviews can be bought on review sites, but people in a forum or community won’t lie at all. I am not saying anything bad against the exchange, but as long as there are trustworthy exchanges present, why to move to a new one? It’s just a little suggestion. I haven’t tried the exchange mentioned in the OP, so it’s upto you what you wanna do with it.

I've spent some time exploring WhiteBit and have a few thoughts to share. First off, the interface is quite user-friendly, which is a big plus for those who may be new to the world of crypto trading. The platform offers a variety of trading pairs, including major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and many others. It even provides fiat options for those looking to trade with traditional currencies.

First, I dont know on whats your main reason on why Bumping up an old thread on which its already that almost a year for it to have its last response? This kind of step is already that necrobumping which it is really just that against on forum rules or something that not really that recommended on doing so.Therefore, you should really be not or refrain on doing such thing if you dont like for some
potential problem later on.

Second, this platform isnt heard of even back into those early years or 2 years ago on which there's no way that i would really be touching up places on which im not that familiar.
Stick with the best and known ones on which you would really be able to make yourself that fully aware on how things should really touched up and sticking with reputable
could really be saving up your ass into those potential problems which you might be able to face on dealing with unknown places.

Before I experienced using it when this exchange is new here in the crypto space, I just got stopped because I didn't have any assets here anymore before. Also, as far as I know, there has been innovation in this platform, and there has also been new management, if I am not mistaken in my understanding.

What I know here is that they launched their own WB network, and they have a QR code to log in; before, they didn't have such a system, and then they have their own apps that can be downloaded on mobile devices that didn't exist before.

Centralize exchanges will do their best to keep their assets safe. Not only just cold storage but other things too. That's not the thing you should be worried about. You should be more worried about your own asset's safety. Many people blindly trust centralized exchanges and think that they will give them the maximum security. But when you have no control over your own assets, how can you be so sure? They are using cold storage to keep their share of money safe. Why don't you do the same?

It is their responsibility to keep their client's assets safe. And it is our responsibility to keep our assets safe. If anything happens to the exchange platform, they will blame it on someone else or file a bankruptcy or something like that. Nothing happens to them but those who uses the platform suffers from it.

Never trust everything that exist on the internet. Not your key, not your coins. Keep that in mind and keep your assets safe to yourself. Anything could happen at any point of time with centralized platforms. Keep control of your assets to yourself. If you need to use a centralized platform then use it with caution and withdraw everything when the work is done.

I recognized the name of that exchange but did not use it. I done some study on the project, and I can say that they are focused on the security of their clients' funds, which is a very smart idea. Users' funds are still frequently lost due to a lack of security in their wallets. However, despite having a high trading volume on a daily basis, this project does not rank among the top ten exchanges on Coinmarketcap. So it is not comparable to Binance, which is a number one exchange, and it offers good security of your assets as well as greater features, which is just what you need.

Unfortunately, I don't know much about the exchange in question nor have I gained any experience using it. For this reason, it wouldn't be right to make a clearly negative or positive comment about it. However, it would be useful to mention some general information to consider when choosing a cryptocurrency exchange;

- First of all, it is very important for a business that provides cryptocurrency services to store a large portion of its assets in cold wallets because all assets shouldn't be at risk in the event of a possible hack.
- It is also very important to have information about the founder and team of this service. Even though we use this service we shouldn't forget that we are entrusting our money to it. At this point, I would like to remind you that the important thing is to know to whom we entrust our money.
- The community of the service in question is also a very important criterion because unfortunately, it isn't possible to generate transaction volume and gain reputation without the support of a good community.

In summary, it is very important to consider all the factors I mentioned above before choosing an exchange to conduct cryptocurrency transactions. It is essential to ensure not just one of these factors but all of them if possible.
