You have a good list mate but honestly, I didn’t experience to buy bitcoin on all the things you’ve mentioned. Didn't know about your website until now, just got interested in it because ranking was done according to that but I would make one modification, you have to change title "the most popular payment methods to buy bitcoin in 2019", this isn't correct because statistics is according to your website. Otherwise I have never seen Yandex Money, Apple Pay and almost 90% of your listed methods to be even a little bit popular.
Also still hard to understand what you mean in popular methods because buying bitcoin with paypal is associated with some risks, logically such payment method can't be popular.

None of you mentioned are not my way to buy Bitcoin. Here in my country I only bought Bitcoin at the legit exchange in which
are listed at the coinmarketcap such as Kucoin, Okex, Idax, Digifinex and Bitforex. But We have 711 convenient stores accepting us to buy bitcoin through coins.ph

I don't use any of your lists to buy bitcoin.
When I want to buy bitcoin, I ask my friend or deposit my fiat into the local exchange, and then I will place an order buy.
That is so simple to me, and I don't have any problem so far.
But before I used localbitcoin in the past but after I found some local sellers in my city, I always contact them first to buy bitcoin.
That is the safest way for me, and I don't have to do anything, just send the money to them, they will calculate how much bitcoin we can get plus we need to pay the fee.
That will be the same if I want to use my local exchange to buy bitcoin.

This is also great to market your product, well its good that you have a good service to offer which can be use on so many ways however this is not yet popular in the Philippines to technically, that Vertex thing can't still compete with coins.ph. Anyway, the OP list is big, and you can see there some good companies like paypal and alipay who are now accepting bitcoin and a way to buy bitcoin. We need more good companies, and I hope they will adopt too.

i have never used alipay but i heard of it   . i only use paypal before but i dont see that they support bitcoins and i think they will never do that because they are both payment procesors and they are rivals  . 

 in every business there are rivals if their purpose are the same and its rare to see them collaborating  .  the op list are all familiar to me but like what i said earlier , i dont think that all of them are accepting bitcoin   .  those who accept bitcoin are not even listed on his list  .

Paytm should never be used to to trade in Bitcoins. It can be easily cheated with fake ID cards and people have been hacked because of selling their BTC for Paytm cash.

Skrill and Neteller allow to deposit BTC which is a safer option rather than buying it on your website.

Better buying ETH/any other crypto selling fiat for that crypto.

I did not expect too many payment methods for BTC. However, I regularly use P2P trading on a number of secure, insured platforms where I live. Besides, I buy at the store of those who own BTC with a very small cost.

When it comes to buying bitcoin i really don't like to use any of the above listed payment methods or any payment method that involves directly or indirectly submitting my personal details, bitcoin for me is all about anonymity and completely keeping you safe and hidden, and using my bank account with my real details and giving them it to them so they can sell them and use them for their liking is not something i am not comfortable with, not to mention that the price is way off and the fees are very high, that is why the best for me is hand to hand p2p exchange which is by far the best and the safest way to do it with no fees.

I am wondering what is this information based on. PayPal, WeChat, Neteller, Skrill are no surprise, but some other services were unexpected. Not to mention that localbitcoins did not make it to the list... Like some others, I've never used any payment method from the list. If I want to buy/sell BTC, I use a local online exchange with direct transfers between bitcoin addresses and bank accounts. It requires no KYC, it's easy to use, and there's a useful website in case of my country that evaluates the exchanges based on customer reviews in real-time. As for some of the most popular payment methods according to this list, they are mainly unavailable or have limited functionality in my country anyway.

Does your bank happy with the wire transfers coming from bitcoin exchanges?
You can read several times here on the forum that the bank account was suspended/restricted/etc... because of incoming fiat wire transfers associated with bitcoin.

Of all the most popular platforms you list, I only use the Paypal platform as it is very popular in the MMO field. However, with other platforms, I have never heard of it before. My online activities always use Ethereum as a currency for exchange. For each different user, they choose different Altcoins to select as payment currency.

I prefer choose to buy directly through a local crypto exchange that can deposit with a local bank. Because the price of coins through this service can be more expensive up to 10 to 20 percent compared to direct purchases on the market exchange. and there are also special fees for these service providers.

I went out on a limb giving OP some merits for his post, and I'm hoping none of it is copy/pasted.  It's a damn good list, and it's one that I find important.  I don't think the average newcomer to bitcoin knows exactly how to buy it, so a summary like this is pretty useful.

I've always used PayPal to buy bitcoin on the forum, but it always requires my counterparty to trust that I'm not going to screw them over with a chargeback.  It took a long time here before I earned enough trust to be able to consistently do PayPal deals and it's not something newbies can do--same thing with any reversible payment method.  There have been innumerable scams using PP or similar payment methods, and a newbie might even get tagged for proposing to buy bitcoin with it.

I've heard of most of them but haven't ever used them.  I think a lot of those payment methods are popular in certain countries, not including my own.  PayPal is pretty much king in the US.  That doesn't make it safe for bitcoin deals, though.

That's probably what most people should be doing, but you have to go through the KYC procedures to link a bank account on a crypto exchange.  Doing deals here at least provides a little anonymity, and that's important.

Such a long list, and I only knew a handful of them. Im not sure, but Paypal is very familiar around the world. I worked in a BPO company before, under Paypal account and that was way before crypto currency became this popular. Common concerns was the shipping issue that needs to be escalated lol. Im just wondering if Paypal CSR's handles crypto currency related concern nowadays.


Im registered in my local crypto wallet for almost 3 years now and done KYC. Im fine with it even though theres a particular level from your account, and each of them have restrictions on withdrawals and deposits. I havent gone too far than declaring my small business, because they were asking for it to increase my withdrawal limit.

I prefer to buy my BTC via CoinMama, I am really upset with Coinbase, I accidently clicked my expired Debit card linked to my Coinbase instead of my updated card. Due to the mistake they charge me almost $165.. I never received any Bitcoin out of it and I called them as soon as I had made the mistake... They said do to blockchain technology you cannot cancel a payment. Which I understand that, But I did not buy any coins I accidently used the wrong card. All I needed from them was to cancel one debit card an use another. Needless to say my coinbase is still -$65... I am slowly paying it off but I do not agree with it. But yes as far as buying bitcoin with a debit card coinmama.com is a good place.


As far as selling Bitcoin goes I usually just sell for paypal. I usually do all my sales here in the Currency exchange threads. I understand paypal can be quite risky. But I only deal with well trusted users. As far as on bitcointalk I have had absolutely no chargebacks as of yet!!! (Knock on wood) But I also do my own research before selling to any user. I check the users trust ratings as well as who left which trust ratings, Then I check those users trust ratings as well!

Those are traditional payment methods and using them is not an easy way to buy bitcoin as you still to need find to trust the seller or him trusts you. The process of buying bitcoin it depends on your location, in some countries you can easily buy bitcoin without much difficulty while on others locations buying cryptocurrency is very difficult and risky. The paypal is not the perfect options even if it's available in your country.

Thankfully didn't have to go through these lists to buy some bitcoins. we already have a local exchange (coins.ph) that helps us to buy bitcoins in the easiest way. unlike buying bitcoins with paypal, in coins.ph you only need a local ID's to prove your KYC or even not you will have some annoying limit though then that's all as it matters you are ready to buy your first bitcoin.

And I found out, some of the methods on your list need you to have a complete details of your KYC before you can buy some bitcoins, like for example you need to verify your PayPal first to avoid a complicated issue with your payment.

Some of the people can't do that thing because not all of us can get documentation easily from their countries. some people took months just to get a single ID. that's why we're so thankful to have coins.ph with us and some of our local exchange to they give us the convenience to convert our bitcoins into fiat and smoothly withdraw it without a problem.

well i think all this is base on the country in which you reside in as most of the African countries dont use or accept all those method and i also never use any of those platform to get bitcoin before but in one way or the other i get them through vendors and luno at my first time but using exchange  to get what i want and sell to vendor anytime i need fiat too.

I can and could use some on your list but never Paypal, I have a horrible experience buying and selling Cryptocurrency using Paypal, they have a chargeback and you have no chance of winning the arguments if they find out that you are buying and selling Cryptocurrency, it only works if you have mutual with the other party, doing it in a stranger will get your account limited they are very much against Cryptocurrency.

It is okay to use what OP mentioned if you guys are going to buy a little amount of bitcoin like .1 - .5 BTC but higher from that, I don't think so. You're lucky if you know someone who have plenty of bitcoins, you could buy to them personally to avoid being scam online using different methods on buying bitcoin. I've used paypal one time when I was just a beginner and it just gives me anxiety that results to overthinking. It was so unsettling because it took so long before I receive it (I've made a successful transaction, by the way).

You should try buddy. I have used some if it before like paypal, skrill and alipay. They are quite good! Their customer service is nice, their user interface is good, also their security is good also , but if you have a wallet in your country that has that pairs its good for you, it is more convinient. There are lot of methods to choose from, you should try.

I actually use the Bluebird by American Express account anytime I can, either using the abra app to buy & when buying on paxful.  It seems to be the easiest I've found but of course I still use paypal from time to time if I have to.

I often use some of these payment methods to purchase bitcoin. It's also an advantage that we have our own local wallet to buy, convert and pay different establishments online with Bitcoin. Buying or selling isn't a problem in our country because of our own local wallet. We can even pay tuition fees and some of our necessities through it. There will be transaction fees but it's all worth it because it provides convenient and faster transactions.

i never though yandex has this payment system, i only knew it because of the fee email they provide which were often considered use by spammers. still good to know they are actually a good company.

vertex.market is somehow like localbitcoins which i'm still not into because of the privacy issues. vertex.market is also asking for KYC, its the normal case these days but if i really wanted to buy BTC and keep my information to only few users, i'd be just going into the currency exchange section in the forum to trade with the trusted people.

This was inconvenient for me before, thankfully there is a  convenience store now in my country which offers to load my wallet with Bitcoin and their app will let you transfer it in any exchange or applications you wanted it.

Local bank transfer become most popular payment method to buy bitcoin for my self, I have use many digital account like PayPal and Payza but I am not enjoy and safety using both digital currency and my account always banned permanent without good reason, best option by using local bank transfer although have wait about one hour until three hours for receiving my money in local bitcoin account.

I think Google pay will be a great option. Google will definitely try and stretch it's wings to most of the nations so that will be used by the highest amount of population. Being a big promoter of p2p trading, apps like Google pay will be a best option.
