Title: Athletics crypto betting
Post by: narcopop on September 24, 2019, 03:15:12 PM
2019 World Athletics Championships starts on Friday what made me thinking of the possibility to bet on this sport at one of the crypto betting platforms.

Do you know which site supports the athletics?

How to bet on this sport after all? What strategies are the best? Does it make sense to bet on the events with dozens of participants?

Is it by and large popular on any of the markets?

If I'm not mistaken, most of the platforms don't have IAAF World Championship in its offer. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Unfortunately, I don't. I haven't come across any official bookie that supports these kinds of events.

It's hard to keep track of one individual given how obscure these names might be, and every year, most of the names included in the games are changing. It's a highly-volatile event with little consistency on player participations so no, I don't think this is a good event to risk some money on.

Is it by and large popular on any of the markets?

No and no. Perhaps on viewership it is popular, but given the lack of interest on the betting side of things, there's little to no markets/bookies offering it for bets.

Actually, there are some crypto platforms that have the IAAF available:

Sportsbet.io (https://sportsbet.io):

Go to their website and look for "Athletics" on left sidebar, click it, and then click "Outrights". You can also use the search bar and type "IAAF World Championship", and you'll see a bunch IAAF events, pick the one you prefer. Here's a direct link (https://sportsbet.io/sports/athletics/outrights).

FortuneJack (https://fortunejack.com):

FJ also has the IAAF World Championship available. You can go to their sportsbook (click "Sports" on the main page) and then click "Athletics" on the left sidebar where it says "All Sports". Here's a direct link (https://fortunejack.com/sportsbook#/prematch/home/league/948553).

Betcoin.ag (https://www.betcoin.ag):

Go to their website, click "Sportsbook" and then look for "Athletics" on the left sidebar.

I'm too lazy to look for other websites, but i'm sure more sites have the IAAF World Championship available.

I also have not seen this kind of sport on bookies sites but just like someone suggested, Sportsbet.io might be to the rescue. For strategies, didn't think it would matter here as when it comes to athletic, its more of the individual than the team. Its different from football where a trend can be established or there is "big team" and "small team" whose result can be predicted to a high level. Strategy would be doing a research on few individuals participating and understand their past competition and also don't be weary of first timers who are out to impress and would go any length to ensure they are seen.

My strategies regarding sports betting just go with the team that have a more significant odds of winning, Yes you can't double your money, but the odds is in your favor. Usually, in that strategy, I always win, and I barely lose my money when I used that.
And if you want sure money don't bet on any side bets, because usually, I win the whole game, but my money loses on side bets, that I bet haha. Just focus on winning the entire game.
In conclusion, bet on the team with significant odds and control your self don't bet on any available side bets. I can make sure that you will always win using that strategy :)

Gambling companies  tend to focus more on popular sports. If the World Athletics Championships is popular around the world or in a country many gambling companies will most likely include them. By the way, these kind of sports are not played often.

Just look at sportsbet.io, yes they have tab for "Athletics" and then go to "Outright".

But so far though, there's no odds yet, the 2019 World Athletics Championships will begin on
Friday, 27 September and ends on Sunday, 6 October. I guess it's going to be too late to put some bets on it since the match will start soon and there are no odds at least in sportbets.io.

Maybe you can follow up on them here, Sportsbet.io (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1458034.0)

Sites offering the access to bet on athletics were detailed in one of the post by dothebeats. Apart from this there might be more gambling websites with fiat usage on bets. It is quite hard to find websites with good trust and cryptocurrency acceptance, because very few list Athletics and similar games. Scammers use it an opportunity to start phising websites and grab the attention of users interested towards the same. Moreover Olympics too is fast approaching, upon which we can see most gambling websites adding athletics to their list.

Currently sportbet seems like the best crypto sport betting site and also they have lot other options so surely they might have bets for athletics too.

Fortune jack,One hash,Nitrogen sports are other reputed sport betting sites check here also for availability.

Not many sport sites offer bets on Athletics but the bigger ones like Sportsbet,One Hash,Nitrogen and maybe a few others do.

However not many gamblers bet on Athletics and not many betting lines are offered in these kind of events compared to traditional soccer betting.

There are some athletics crypto betting mate but such popular sports only. Because in fact in my own opinion, there's no way that one will provide a category like that on some gambling site.  Because the percentage of ppl that has an addiction through sports is to high than other crypto gambling. So it always part of the gambling and there is no way it will disappear on the list ..  I have no recommendation actually because im  just sharing my opinion.  but try to search and it can help you to choose a gambling site tht will suit on your plans.  Good luck

Other than the three sportsbook mentioned by tomahawk above playbetr (https://www.playbetr.com/) also have athletics on the very bottom of their sports list.

Does it make sense to bet on the events with dozens of participants?
Yes, this isn't the only event where we could bet on dozens of participants last year there was the olympics the only markets provided by sportsbook were outrights.

Not many sport sites offer bets on Athletics but the bigger ones like Sportsbet,One Hash,Nitrogen and maybe a few others do.
Onehash and Nitrogen doesn't have athletics I checked most of the sites to see if the other bitcoin sportsbooks started adding athletics.

Sportsbet is a popular crypto based gambling sites that offers a wide range of sports for betting.
I'm used to betting on horse racing and believe human racing and athletics are much easier form of betting. If you are confused with two participants, generally you can bet on both of them and yield a profit if any of them win as the odds are generally larger than other sports.

Hi guys,

The Trading guys have pushed live 40+ markets for the upcoming World Champs for Athletics.

See if you can find a good deal here:

https://sportsbet.io/sports/athletics/outrights (https://sportsbet.io/sports/athletics/outrights)

thanks for the feedback!

regards,

Steve,
Sportsbet.io

So it looks like sportsbet.io did listen to the OP and now they're live now.

Do we need a separate gambling thread for this event? Or maybe we can continue our discussions here regarding the World Athletics Championships?

Looking at the odds, it looks like Rojas, Ibarguen, and Ricketts are the three huge favorites. But if you bet on each of the other 11 athletes you could still take home a net profit. That's betting on 11 out of 14 competitors.

I haven't tried betting on athletics yet but is there a high chance of an upset here? Or their previous records will most probably reflect in their upcoming performance and the underdogs will certainly not worth taking a chance?

are really they ?  but why thier odds are only smaller based on the pic that you qouted while others have a bigger number of odds ?  afaik high odds means high chance of winning right ?

cool .  thats a nice strategy but only applicablr to those who have a really huge capital.  .

we cant say that too early.  on every competition or on every gambling , the underdogs can sometimes win unexpectedly.  youl never know if they train hard or they are lucky that thier oponent have injured or performing not good. .

Hello, shoreno! It means that what you have known all this time is probably wrong. If you are betting, you've probably noticed it this time. The lowest odds goes to the most favorite while the highest odds goes to the most underdog.  :)

For example, if you place a bet to Rojas, your $100 will return to you x 1.35 (the odds), that would be $135. Meaning you only won $35 in your $100 bet. On the other hand, if you place a bet to Petrova, your $100 will return to you x 139.50 (the odds), that would be $13,950. Meaning your $100 gives you a $13,850 prize.

The interpretation would be that Rojas is more likely to win over Petrova. Hence, the lower winning prize. Rojas is obviously the favorite here and Petrova the underdog.

If your interpretation is correct, I'm afraid betting sites would declare bankruptcy in a couple of days.  ;D

I don't know a site that offers what you are looking for but and I haven't tried betting on athletic game also... But about the strategies you're asking,  I believe there is none. You just have to know the teams, players, and their records when it comes to their history of being an athlete. For you to be able to win on your bet, make sure you've studied about the players, who's more likely to win,  before making your bet.

I believe it's unlikely that you'll find it, at least in good volume.

Glad to see that you are enthusiastic about the world championships but if you are following athletics i would like to know the state and the top performers and anyone who has any knowledge about the current scenario we need some tips in this field if we are to wage a bet during the world championships. Olympics is a long way to go, lets start with world championship.

All the major sports book will add athletics during the eve of the events.

You are not alone bro and I can assure you that, I have never heard of it either I feel it's probably not common like we have sports and the likes but it definitely exists, and I won't be surprised one-day if I hear there is dwarf betting because in gambling industry,  they bet on everything.

Just last week I was reading about insect betting. It is the weirdest thing I have seen all my life, and my greatest shock was people coming to sing praises of how intriguing the game can be. I was indeed shocked to my bones, again of recent I learnt cock fight would be introduced to casino games soon.  If all this are possible then definitely there is athlete games betting ,we just might not have seen or been a part of it.

I don’t know so much about athletes but based on my experience in gambling and if I am to advise anyone I would advise to stay off looking for strategies and focus on game understanding the more. This is applicable for all game types.

I strongly believe that anyone who knows the does- and don’ts of gambling will not be after game strategies that much and I am also very sure that the same level of wisdom and understanding required in sports betting poker and other casino games is what will be needed for this athlete that's if there is any at all. The poster above me has already said it all, research, study and understanding is very vital to winning and becoming successful.

This one, this is just measuring stick for the next Olympics as we all know that athletic events are the center of every Olympics, I love sprints, been following this events for many years as I was also into this sports in college, personal best of 10.++, Lol.

However, I wasn't able to follow this year and I need to refresh myself with all the players in this meet. For those who are interested, https://www.runnersworld.com/news/a29196099/2019-iaaf-world-championship-results/.
